I was a Leeds' supporter when I was a child and I watched this match on TV in 1973. I am still the club' supporter and certainly I will be in the many years to come.
Leeds wearing a variety of kit here - Allan Clarke starts off with a collar whilst the rest seem to be wearing a plain crew neck. Second half he congratulates Lorimer on his hat trick and appears to have changed into a crew neck whilst some of the others congratulating Lorimer, including Bremner, appear to be wearing V necks!
In the game away to Tottenham (2/9/73) there picture of Gordon McQuee on the cover of Shoot and his wearing a round neck collar away shirt from the previous season. Don Revie was very supersticious when it came to kits so probably covering all bases.
@@apathyintheuk265Many teams, these days, go out in kits that aren't their proper colours...man city rarely play in their sky blue at away games, Arsenal played an home European game against a Norwegian team in BLUE and it's a cancer that is cheating the fans for the sake of money! Fans don't count these days due to the GREED of money!!!
@@johnhawkins6506 I understand what you're saying but completely different to the observation I made. An odd one I've noticed from the past is both cup finalists playing in their change strips. Examples being 1968 - Everton v WBA, 1980 - Arsenal v West Ham. I know there have been other examples especially FL cup finals.
In the Tottenham away game the week before Gordon McQueen wore old yellow jersey. It seems as though Leeds kits from this period chosen on a player by player basis.
What a team grew up watching them in the 70s my hero was Allan Clarke ❤
Superb team..one of the best ever.How I miss 1970's football !

What a team. Those were the days.
Gary Pendry was the best left back in the country around that time.
"Since the referees opinion is the only one that counts..." -- Not in 2019... VAR debacle.
Mighty Leeds
RIP Peter Lorimer...😔
the best ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Leeds totally dominant. Won the first 7 games, THE BEST ever.

Same with various kits now!!
@@johnhawkins6506 What, three different styles worn by the same team in one match?!!

Great channel, just wanted to know did Yorkshire viewers have an extended version of this match ?
Yes they but it's probably been wiped.
Eddie Gray in a older shirt than rest of team, Crew necks V necks and collared shirts on show here, only in the 70's

Were there many Birmingham fans in the Gelderd End that day?
Fancy giving lorimer 20 yards of space
Hot shot Lorimer at his glorious best
KRO
I don't like leeds who are 1 of the teams with the dreaded cancer of cheating fans by having so many kits!!
