i used to deliver all the food products to 5 guys, that job gave me an inside look at a lot of restaurants that most people dont get. 5 guys was always top 5 cleanest restaurants ive ever seen. any given location. they also dont have a freezer. at all. so you know everything is fresh. the beef is fresh ground beef and its formed into patties every day in store, and i think thats what puts them above a lot of other burger chains (despite the high price).
also if you were wondering, the hot dogs are Hebrew national and the cheese is kraft american cheese.

I'm not really a burger guy, and have driven by five guys and never tried it, but after this maybe I will, have to remember about that patty melt request, maybe might be a good first purchase. I'm even less hotdog guy that one is probably a no for me.
So, finally tried Five guys for the first time. Got a cheeseburger with ketchup, tomato, mushrooms and pickles. I did think it was a little expensive but as long as the burger was big enough the price was fine and it was the perfect size. It was really good. I barely tasted the pickles. I debated putting mustard on it but wanted to try it more in the normal way. I might try jalapenos next time. I completely forgot about the patty melt, will definitely try to remember for next time.

If it’s your fav burger place then it should be in S. Is mcdicks or wendy’s a better burger? I would say no but they do have much more variety. Bump one of those down because they are so similar. I’d say you get an S tier for every category

For people who eat their burgers with lettuce and tomatoes, 5 guys is terrible because of how they wrap their burgers in the foil, it steams everything and it makes it mushy and nasty, more so if you take it to go. It messes up the lettuce and tomato which in turns makes the whole thing a soggy mess...... for you, it is probably great because you dont add those vegetables, I could see how the experience would be better but I personally like the vegetables on my burgers.
I think 5 Guys uses Hebrew National hot dogs.

Been awhile since I've been there because of how expensive it is but if I remember correctly I used to get a triple cheese burger with grilled onions, jalapeños, and mushrooms with a large Cajun fry and it would cost over 20 dollars! That was probably near 2 years ago! I can't imagine how expensive it is now! I make smash burgers at home that come out pretty similar in taste and 5x cheaper! Only thing I miss are the Cajun fries!!!
