I personally would not recommend to apply the paint remover....... just use a sand paper and sand it and later add a coat of primer.. do not try to strip the paint.

Please help me with my question : Why is stuff getting entangled and stuck in my bicycle’s rear gears? I have a bicycle with 18 gears i.e. 6 gear wheels at the rear. Recently everytime i ride the bicycle using the gears as one normally would, stuff from the road/ground (mostly long fabric threads) would get entangled and stuck all around the rear gear wheels. I feel this started happening after i started shifting the front friction gears from 1-3 as earlier i used to always keep the front friction gear to 2, I am not sure but this is the only recent change in my riding. What could be the reason and how do i fix it?
Remove the derailliur and clean some fibres stuck in it and in casette and then assemble it and spray some WD 40 .And yes avoid driving on fibres.Hope it helps.😉🙃
