Thanks Jake! I try to give as much info as I can without it being super annoying. I often don't know the names of some of the sights and features along the trail until I get home and look them up. lol
@@downtoearthadventures1528 No problem. Thanks for your help over the summer via eMail with the info about The Pemi Loop. I did go up but just stayed at Hancock and did the Franconia Ridge only. I heard the back country sites were getting over 100 people per night this summer on many occasions and one night Liberty Springs had 115 people according to a ranger I spoke to before heading up. That's bonkers and would not have been any fun for me. Hancock Campground was very nice though sleeping on The Pemigewasset River. Hope to see you do some Catskills stuff soon. Cheers.
Wow, that's nuts. I figured Franconia Ridge would be crowded, as usual, but I'm surprised to hear that the tent sites were so busy. I'm amazed they could even accommodate that many people. I guess the trick from now on is to figure out the least popular times to go, and maybe keep a lookout for stealth sites. Glad to hear you had a good trip though.
Did the entire loyalsock trail backpack a few years ago. It's about 60 miles. It was a great hike with lots of varied terrain and great views. The part that goes through world's end state park was really nice. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The trail was very well blazed. I would do again! Thanks for bringing back those good memories!
I have done the Loyalsock-Link loop a few years ago, and it was pretty nice as well, and very similar because it is in the same general area of PA. It makes me want to explore some more section of the LT.
You have some great videos, of some awesome hikes. I wanna do a few of them with my kids. I like the video quality, and quietness of your hikes. Looking forward to some more adventures
Been digging your videos for a while now and just checking in. I live right in Montco, about two mile from Evansburg SP and am familiar with a lot of your PA hikes and this one, Ketchum Run, is one of my favs up there in The Endless Mtns.. Keep up the excellent work and happy trails!!
Thanks Gary! Yeah this one has a very good work-vs-reward ratio. I kinda felt like I hadn't earned all those views and waterfalls with such an easy hike. It's almost too good to be true. LOL
For sure, it's pretty amazing for all the features it packs into a nice short loop. If I ever go back I will probably stay at that larger campsite just for practical reasons. But overall it was a great trip.
Absolutely fantastic place! Did the through hike in September. One of my favorite hikes ever! Unfortunately, drought was so bad most of the falls were just a trickle. Don’t like to redo a trail but will make an exception for this place. Parked at the Dushore trailhead parking, got a shuttle to the western end and hiked back in 4.5 days. Favorite campsite Sones Pond.
Yeah, we were pretty surprised at how nice this section was. I have also done the Loyalsock-Link loop, and Sones Pond was definitely a highlight of that hike. This makes me want to check out more of the Loyalsock Trail now.
I very much appreciate your videos. I am new to the backpacking world. Began hiking a year ago and stepping it up to weekend backpacking. I am struggling to learn where I can camp. I would love to follow you on AllTrails so I can try your hikes on the maps. Is this possible?
Another fantastic video. Your videos deserve more attention. The bushwhack looked interesting, do you use GPS or map/compass ? Again great video. I also enjoy the intro
Thanks Jay! The bushwhack section here was really not bad at all since there's a very clear (but unmarked) trail to follow, so it's not as if you're just wandering around in the woods aimlessly. I always take a pre-recorded GPS route to follow when I'm out there, usually from AllTrails, and I always have two forms of GPS tracking, my watch and phone. And I also bring a 20k mAh battery bank to charge both devices as necessary. I really don't like being lost. LOL
Hello. Took my 12 year daughter w/ me overnight on Pinchot trail last year. We had a good time, but I was surprised this year my teen daughter still wanted to hang with dad. Any good clear hints on the best place to park and hike for a not-aggressive mileage but a nice place to setup one night??
Ryan, believe it or not, I go through these same questions when deciding where to hike. Usually before I go out on a hike, I try to watch a few videos of other people doing the same hike and assess the difficulty based on their experience. That being said, a few of the easier hikes I have done are Minister Creek, Hertlein Campsite, Ketchum Run Gorge, and Echo Lake is not too bad either. I would also recommend doing some day-hikes just to scope out some possible overnight trips. Just be aware that the easier the hike and the nicer the camping, the more crowded it may be. Happy trails!
Another great vid with detailed observations of the trail. Don't ever change your format because this is how to make a hiking video. Great stuff!

Another great trip and video. Thank you for uploading the video.
Thanks Michael! Glad you enjoyed it.
Great trip in a beautiful area. I did this one back in may we passed up the falls sight with having two hammocks and stayed at the 29:39 site.

We must start hiking together!

Planning to hike here in a few weeks. Thanks for the video. Did you use AllTrails or something similar and would you mind sharing?
I did use AllTrails for navigation. The route I followed is called "Loyalsock and Fern Rock Nature Trail".
@@downtoearthadventures1528 Thanks!

i’m thinking of spending a night at upper alpine vista. do you know how far water is from there? thanks!
It's a great view, but I'm not aware of any water sources up there. As far as I know, the nearest water is all the way down in the gorge.
You could have taken Fernrock nature Trail all the way to Ketchum run
Good to know. I will probably revisit this trail again sometime since it was so nice.
