Booker is the man. Flawed and faliable, but strong and reliable. A very effective killer though. Brutalized many people. Splattered thier insides all over Columbias' walls. They asked for it though. You dont throw rocks at a man with a machine gun!
I check the date when you mentioned Booker is born in 1874. What is shocking is that Booker gone through this entire event when he was teenager. I mean he is 19 and he got married, lost his wife and daughter. He is already traumatised with his crimes committed in Wounded Knee. No wonder he made some irrational actions because he is behaving like a lost teenager. He thought he could avoid harassment from his comrades by brutally slaughter the Natives. The alternate Booker thought he could escape his sins by accepting the baptism and becoming Comstock. How easily Booker sold his infant daughter to Comstock. In the end, Booker is a traumatised teenager who is unable to grow, now I feel pity. Attack on Titan thought me about traumatised teenagers how it stagnate character growth. It can be seen with Eren Jaeger and Reiner Braun. Reiner is Booker and Eren is Comstock.
I wanted to play as Zachary, to be the false prophet (aren't all of them false). I like to imagine my evil version. Then I realize, I'm Zachary in some matters and Booker on others.
He has done some pretty damn bad things in his life that kept festering in him. War and brutalizing people under pressure and the resulting regret and self-loathing. Add to that the loss of his wife and suddenly having to care for an infant daughter alone, plus his financial troubles, living in his small office as well as having a gambling problem and the resulting growing debts. As with many people suffering from it, he could have been hoping his luck would eventually turn only to be met with an another failure and he would self-medicate with alcohol and soon the loop would go on. I have no idea how much it would pay to be a PI especially in that time but I doubt it was that much. It'd be even less for a single father who wouldn't be able to take every job, as he'd have to take care of Anna and he most likely wouldn't been able to pay for someone to look after her. Also I don't really see him being that much of a social butterfly either, he was probably isolating himself. When he was gambling I don't think he had any hope on winning and just couldn't stop. How I see it, Booker just was slowly waiting for the end to come. To be evicted and Anna be taken away from him and finalizing the nail in his coffin. That, and maybe he kept his gun on his table close by for an another reason. I think it's understandable how hopeless and out of control he might have felt his life was, and Booker himself knows he's no saint and deserved everything he got. Certainly he wasn't perfect but he was truly human and that's why he's one of my favorite characters. He could be anyone of us.
Thanks! This is what I need to deal with how much I miss BioShock series. I’ve actually been missing the bit about Booker having part Native American lineage all these years, so thanks for bringing that up. Great video!

The story is interesting but the numerous alternate realities make it quite difficult to sort out, lol. However its a great game to play and I love the Bioshock franchise.
Booker is a great character, next to Elizabeth. I do agree that the Siren is the worst boss battle in the whole BioShock series. That boss is the most difficult and annoying to beat.
I love Bioshock Infinite with all my soul ... It's the saddest and most hallucinating story I've ever seen in a video game .... The point is that I totally identified with Booker during the game and such an ending ( incredible, brilliant and cruel at the same time) literally destroyed me with sorrow ...
I’ve always gotten confused with booker/comstock, It’s the major change in personality. Booker for example aside from what he did at wounded knee didn’t really display any racist traits whereas comstock has a bit of a racist bent as he runs Columbia. Another is the hyper-nationalism that comstock displays, booker doesn’t strike me as the patriotic type since he did technically commit atrocities at the behest of the US government at the time.
Comstock glorified the acts of aggression towards the natives and the Chinese after having been "washed" of his sins, whereas Booker was ashamed of these acts, realizing the whole racism and following ultranationalistic beliefs shebang ain't rad. People, when making mistakes, sometimes double down and pretend it was all meant to be that way and good, until they believe it themselve. Some atone. You played the one who atoned.
Booker and Elizabeth make me cry. I always save the little girls and it always represents my actions to be a good father. Booker and his mistakes define him. And at the end at his point of resurrection he ends his own life. I love this game

Yes, Booker DeWitt was protagonist. His mission to recuse Elizabeth infinite from Comstock. Right after Booker was rejected his baptism, thinking that his sins could not be washed away by a "dunk in the river." Booker fall in love name Annabelle DeWitt and get married. Before His wife dead they give her a daughter name Anna. When Comstock finds a world his timeline or another dimension who rejected his baptism and sent Robert Lutece to find Booker make deal sell his baby. Booker stocked and follow them. Booker struggled with Comstock to get Anna back. Comstock succeeded in pulling her through the Tear but as the Tear closed, the tip of Anna's pinky finger was severed. Booker is so sorry and wasn't strong enough. Booker fell further into depression and later branded his right hand with Anna's initials, "A.D." Nearly twenty years later, in 1912 Booker last hope. When They returned once more, offering another deal. He agreed and they opened a Tear for Booker to enter. As he entered, he suffered the effects of "transfusing" into another dimension. Robert Lutece theorized, that this effect was Booker's mind creating new memories from old ones. Booker confused the sale of his daughter twenty years previous with the task at hand, "Bring us the girl and wipe away the debt." Robert and Rosalind Lutece then took DeWitt to a lighthouse on the coast of Maine. Yes, everything what Comstock said is true to Elizabeth. So many choice different world. About Booker's past, present and future. I wish Comstock doesn't exist his world and had big mistake to create city name Columbia. So where Booker world Anna with him and never sell her. Booker never abandon his daughter.
