Dude, every problem you mentioned with the SVD can be fixed with simple upgrades. The stock? Get an aftermarket wood furnishing kit. Inconsistency? Nothing a new hopup bucking or tight bore barrel can't fix. But worst of all is the bolt handle complaint. You can buy a CNC extra large bolt handle for $18, fixes that completely. You can grip the thing with 3 fingers
There are so many mods for SVD that make this gun great! Got my ACM/AK/custom SVD and it can outperform many sniper rifles. Even Constistency +-1ms and precision is great.
my biggest gripe with the SSG is how loud it is.. which it really is. we put a upgraded vsr10 and an ssg through their paces, they were pretty similar, but the biggest difference was how loud the ssg fired. if it was significantly quieter, id probably be saving up for it specifically.
I have an A&K SVD that the first owner put an M210 in, and I know what you mean about the butt plate and the bolt handle (a bruised trigger finger isn't very useful). The stock was also much too short for me. I put a rubber butt pad on the stock, and found a bolt handle extension that made it much more useable.

Dragunov is just AKM with a longer barrel, lighter stock, longer handguard and broken automatic fire selector so it only can switch from safety to semi- auto. Yes, the AK-47 in real life is fragile, because when it's mass produced the wood isn't even polished. So when it's raining all day long and you don't put the AK inside, if you fall the stock sometimes broke.

Don't know about your SVD from A&K, but the one i bought from A.C.M never had any problem. They even fixed the double feed and made the gun way more durable.
The A&K SVD Is a nightmare! At least mine. First of all, u get tyred of cocking every time you shoot because is so hard and the piece is small, so i have to carry a metal grip to use it every time i want to cock easier. Is loud and quality of materials is not the best (but that's not a problem for me). The internals aren't too bad, but it double feeds sometimes, even with the upgraded hop up chamber (the one you can adjust with your finger). Some kind of bbs (in my case non bio 0.4g) get stucked on the inner barrel, so i only shoot 0.2g and 0.25g bio BB (on a sniper, yes). The serial spring gave me lower fps than the Novritsch's one, (?), so i changed it for an SP160, but actually it didn't changed the fps and distance range (?). I tied the cheek rest with a flange, due to it gets weaker with not much use, so every time i dissasemble the scope, i have to put a new flange . The trigger shakes, it does'n gives you an accurate shot. Also the mag shakes. And, yeah, is long.
My svd double fed, shot in random directions and decided it didn't want to feed, but it worked good for the first couple minutes! It was very good for taking out my own shadow.

Get a vsr10 based rifle , not TM cause it's out of the budget...but with a proper compatible clone, you can play quite good for a while and if you enjoy the role you might also replace inner parts with upgrades that will make your rifle as good ad upgraded TM (cause the internal upgrades will be the same...but you paid less at the beginning)

Im currently running this SVD and the double feed is because of the mag but if you only put 20-25 in the mag I rarely run into double feed and yes its loud but with that long barell it really holds down range. Im hitting people a good 100 yards away from me thats out of the box hop up not adjusted yet, but i did have to aim up a little. I fully recommend this gun
Novritsch, i got into airsoft because my counselor at the VA suggested it cuz alot of vets are finding it more than just fun its actually therapeutic and for me she was right. The first thing i noticed in airsoft when it comes to the AEGs and HPAs marksmanship is lost. As a new player i know you dont recommend sniping but im not your average newb. 8 years infantry united states marine corps 0341. Im what you call the "sneaky" type of sniper. For me whats mission critical is providing an overwatch for my team, recon and relaying intel, engaging targets based on threat level to the team then finally picking out targets of opportunity and the head shots are out the door any hit counts so its center mass on whatever my target gives me. Im running a bar10 fully upgraded fps in the 540's. I have 2 more rifles on the way(sorry no ssg 24's) my question is this. With your celebrity status why not push marksmanship over selling guns? Theres too many players that do not know what sight alignment and sight picture are..thats tragic in a sport where shooting is a necessity...Semper Fi
Well if you're not happy about the A&K SVD then that has a lot to say for the quality of the gun. This model has been in production for a few years now and every owner seems to have never ending problems despite buying every mod that's available. I think I'll give up with mine before I spend any more.
I'm completely new to airsoft, and I'm buying an m24 from evike. I'm not planning on upgrading it or anything when I get it, or even after. I'm gonna stick with the stock until I get pretty good, and I think in a year or 2, I'll invest in this sniper with all the bells and whistles. shipping is gonna suck though since I live in this U.S.
I have a bipod because the field I go to has a building with a 3 or 4 foot 3rd level in it with cutouts on the wall at the floor for prone shooting. If you know Hellhounds Airsoft in Portland TN, you know the one.
The ssg is not affordable for most people though. Itd be more affordable to upgrade a base model most of the time. If you live near a shop you can have them do the work.
I have the SVD from Koer, it's pretty much the same as A&K, but I think it's good sniper, the range that I tested it, is about 80 meters, I can hit someone at 80 meters, long barell is not issue for my play style, double feeds from magazine were rare when I tested it, it worked almost everytimes
I updated my svd and it truely is amazing. I dont know the company, but out of the box it only was like 290 fps, so it was horrible for a sniper rifle. New parts and now its 500 fps, shoots like a laser, after like 50 games nothing came loose, everything is so tight fitted, but the magazine wables a bit and double feeds some times ;( and its loud. Its made almost all from metal (except the stock and foregrim (dont know the right word ;) )) soooooo its heavy to hold for more than 20 second
Also for that dragunov take off that cheek rest its not meant for iron sights its meant for scopes if you do that then your irons wont have to be adjusted too high
I got old Bison 701 SVD. Cost me 85 £. Quality is not the best, because of too many plastic parts but I did few mods , including 720 mm long precision inner barrel. Im using this rifle for long time, and you know what? Im not going to change it. Also, it's only gun im using for airsoft. After mods i can hit CO2 cartridge from 40 yards , or head shot from 60 to 80 yards. Its perfect gun for me.
I have that svd but trademarked by ASG and with black stock and handguard, put a 510mm Prometheus stainless 6.03mm inner canon, maple leaf 60 or 70 degree bucking and got something pretty good honestly but as he said, the air volume is too low so I'm keeping it at 360 fps as of right now could get it higher since upgraded piston catch and thinking of upgrading piston to get maximized efficiency or get my gun tech to do one hell of hpa project with tank in custom stock

On evike get the Matrix SVD II the bolt action dragonov its a really good rifle
Try having a sniper on your back and having like an ar type rifle as your sort of main weapon and then have a pistol as your secondary

I'm gonna stick with the stock until I get pretty good, and I think in a year or 2, I'll invest in this sniper with all the bells and whistles. shipping is gonna suck though since I live in this U.S.

I have a bipod because the field I go to has a building with a 3 or 4 foot 3rd level in it with cutouts on the wall at the floor for prone shooting. If you know Hellhounds Airsoft in Portland TN, you know the one.

The ssg is not affordable for most people though. Itd be more affordable to upgrade a base model most of the time. If you live near a shop you can have them do the work.
I have the SVD from Koer, it's pretty much the same as A&K, but I think it's good sniper, the range that I tested it, is about 80 meters, I can hit someone at 80 meters, long barell is not issue for my play style, double feeds from magazine were rare when I tested it, it worked almost everytimes

I updated my svd and it truely is amazing. I dont know the company, but out of the box it only was like 290 fps, so it was horrible for a sniper rifle. New parts and now its 500 fps, shoots like a laser, after like 50 games nothing came loose, everything is so tight fitted, but the magazine wables a bit and double feeds some times ;( and its loud. Its made almost all from metal (except the stock and foregrim (dont know the right word ;) )) soooooo its heavy to hold for more than 20 second
Idk if you 're gonna' responde, but I need to ask, HOW DID YOU UPGRATED A DRAGUNOV and made It 210 FPS stronger!?
And also,I really want You to remember the shop,I'm searching t'he most realistic SVD posible, as much weight,better.

Also for that dragunov take off that cheek rest its not meant for iron sights its meant for scopes if you do that then your irons wont have to be adjusted too high
I own the aeg version from echo 1 and that got me too but as soon as you remove the cheek rest its perfectly aligned with the sights
I got old Bison 701 SVD. Cost me 85 £. Quality is not the best, because of too many plastic parts but I did few mods , including 720 mm long precision inner barrel.
Im using this rifle for long time, and you know what? Im not going to change it. Also, it's only gun im using for airsoft. After mods i can hit CO2 cartridge from 40 yards , or head shot from 60 to 80 yards.
Its perfect gun for me.
I have that svd but trademarked by ASG and with black stock and handguard, put a 510mm Prometheus stainless 6.03mm inner canon, maple leaf 60 or 70 degree bucking and got something pretty good honestly but as he said, the air volume is too low so I'm keeping it at 360 fps as of right now could get it higher since upgraded piston catch and thinking of upgrading piston to get maximized efficiency or get my gun tech to do one hell of hpa project with tank in custom stock
Novritch, you should challenge yourself and use 1 of the sniper rifles for each sniper field you go to so you can review their performances!!!
