Jimmy Butler is responsible for the second best 5 year stretch of Heat history and should be a hall of famer. I know he didn’t do much in college but his NBA career accomplishments and stats are so eerily similar to Tracy McGrady’s that if he got in I don’t see how Jimmy doesn’t. My hunch is that the comments Riley made about not paying Jimmy during the offseason was a shot at "old school motivation." Clearly, it didn't work. Jimmy seems like an intelligent enough dude to understand what was going on, but probably didn't appreciate being called out like that. Butler's never been a guy who has cheated the game, and if he's out there giving 110% for 40 minutes in his 30's, the reality is that he's going to miss some games because of it. Nobody talks about it, but Riley very well just might be too much of a relic at this point to still be the guy in charge. Might be time for him to retire.
@@jeffroitero4266 Jimmy does not give 110% each night, i watch every game and in the regular season…hes loitering in half the games. He’ll have games where he only attempts 4 shots. Kenny you gotta make a video about 32-35+ aging stars in the league. I’ve been thinking it but you brought it up too: what is the league going to look like (heck what’s happening to it now) with guys no longer retiring at 32-35? Bc understandably they can still play at high levels but they’re increasingly injury-prone nor as offensively/defensively consistent as they once were so it’s almost not even worth it half the time (from a consumer/entertainment perspective) The league is certainly going through some interesting growing pains rn, some of which the league has never seen/experienced until now
The problem is they are still getting paid like in their primes when players now can play longer, but like you have said, injuries and dropping off is inevitable. The body regenerates at a lower speed
The teams Jimmy and the Heat beat en route to both finals and nearly three makes his stint with Miami miles better than any other stint he had for any other team he played for. Also, the team might’ve been underwhelming but they shouldn’t have even been in the finals which tells you all you need to know
Jimmy did all he could I’m gonna remember this heat era as the era that exposed Pat Riley for no longer knowing how to run an nba organization that man wasted multiple title contending years with his passiveness
The talent and competition in the league during the peak of Butler’s Heat tenure is nothing short of exceeding expectation. It is a given a bit of luck was involved in a lot of their finals run but coaching and superior effort pushed them over the hump. The talent on their roster wasn’t a guaranteed finals appearance. Thus, anyone who says it was Butler’s time with the Heat was underwhelming does not know ball respectfully.
"Jimmy Butler is a fucking dawg!" Amen to this! Regardless of winning a ring, Jimmy's time with the Heat will be remembered. He's getting to the Hall of Fame. His Jersey will be retired by Miami. 3 out of his 5 seasons he went to the Conference Finals!
Come on, he is never getting his jersey retired. Forget the hall of fame, lmao. At best, he could get a tribute video when he gets traded and returns to Miami.
My theory is that the heat are trying to mitigate any losses to his trade value. Butler has two years left on his contract (including this year) AND he’s 36 years old, which is usually when stars start to decline. If reports about butler wanting to leave Miami are unanswered, the return teams are willing to give wouldn’t be enough for the heat. Therefore by making it seem like they won’t trade him, it might bait teams to give a little bit more.
Sorry for the long ass comment lol. TL:DR, butler is old and has a short term contract, so by making him hard to get they’ll force teams to give up more than bargained for.
Pat riley really fumbled thie jimmy era of heat basketball by running it back with basically the same roaster despite making 2 finals as a clear underdog. The biggest move he's made was giving a 35 year old lowry a max
I think my favourite thing about the videos is how they end on you making an amazing point rather then you trying to wrap up with something else leaving so much space for conversation and thought
The Hoop Collective talked about this and a point I totally agree with is that "letting a player go for nothing" in free agency might be a good thing in this CBA. Instead of taking bad contracts for your superstar that will mess up your team you get CAP SPACE. An example is the Clippers just letting Paul George go instead of sign and trade so they got cap space
Jimmy Butler is the kind of player most teams should want on their team. 29 teams don’t win a championship every year. Championships are a perfect storm of talent, lack of injury, seeding, timing of fouls and all kind of tiny things that seem insignificant even in a single playoff game. Watching teams bottom out after a championship is a bummer, but watching people malign good players who haven’t won a championship because they haven’t been on a team that got lucky is far more of a bummer.
Ring culture is toxic. I think it started when LeBron didn't win a ring in his first Cavs stint. Even though he never had a teammate who scored more than 16 points 😅😅😅
10:28 it was unequivocally bc of MJ and the LeBron narrative. Regardless of your thoughts on that debate, it definitely was used as a weapon against LeBron fans and now it has seeped its way into all NBA talk. Now no rings = nothing of significance happened on that team or with that player.
He was so inconsistent, though. Never played the regular season consistently, and in the playoffs, he faltered when it mattered most. Heat should trade him rn before his value becomes zero.
Kenny, the timing of you taking this video out is insane. Butler was supposed to be on a plane to join the team and now he's away from the team to, "Get back into game form". This is also right after his agent has become completely silent on all trade speculations.😂
From what I’ve seen over a decade of fandom, a teams culture and identity is that of the best player. I think Jimmy deserves a lot of blame for Miami being a low seed the last few years and whatever the hell they are this season. That being said, the guy is a monster in the playoffs and deserves every flower in the meadow. I just wanna see jimmy butler play basketball with passion again.
I personally dont think they'll find a destination ahead of the deadline and jimmy will likely resign with miami. The potential offers don't seem amazing for either party involved and theres no teams that are competitive while having a meaningful amount of cap space
Ring culture started when Shaq started running his mouth to Chuck and to Dwight about ring count. No dig to Diesel, mans got plenty to be proud of, but when he’s on Inside the NBA trying to keep Chuck from making a point because he didn’t get any rings, that’s where it’s coming from
I think we all know where "ring culture" was birthed from. It was an excuse to tear down LeBron for not winning as many as Jordan or for not going undefeated like Jordan. So now the Jimmy butler's, Paul Georges, Demar DeRozan's of the world aren't going to be remembered the way they should. This is the effects that Stephen A Smith, Skip Bayless, Bill Simmons and people on Twitter spending the last decade trying to preserve Jordans status as the goat as Lebron's argument grew stronger 🤷♂️
Paul George has been a bonafide fraud since leaving Indiana bro. DeMar has always been a fraud, fakest 1A option ever; we lost to the fucking old man Nets.
If Jimmy truly said that he wanted to be moved before the deadline and Pat said they’re not trading him, you’re gonna have a pissed off Jimmy. That’s bad news for everyone involved
This is WAY juicier than the Dame trade saga. EDIT: 10:12 Kenny's got a point abt ring culture. In other sports players who have done great stuff w/o winning a championship are still respected but for some reason in basketball, no ring = no legacy.
I honestly think its because they dont respect shams like they did woj because almost anything woj said was treated as gospel so the agent and riley can just go out and qualm any rumors and people wont know who to believe
As a Miami fan, I want Jimmy to get a ring, not because I think his time here was underwhelming but because he was the biggest hope we had since LeBron bosh and wade days to get us to a ring. He got us to the finals twice! I want him to get a ring before he goes because I think he’s gotten us far enough to earn one once. I get people’s frustrations with his availability and yes I get frustrated too but if we are looking back at last year- his father died. He is entitled to take that time off to grieve as needed. So I completely understand Riley’s sentiments but I think he could have handled that situation better, and the same goes for Jimmy, because he threw his teammates under the bus and they did the best they could when he was out and he made them sound like they weren’t even trying at all. I love my team but right now how they’re handling this (Jimmy’s team and FO) is ridiculous and it’s only killing morale of the team, coaches, and fans.
Give it to us straight, Kenny! 💪 Miami's cooked 🔥...But then again, Miami is never cooked 😂😅😂 Also, I agree with "Ring Culture"...Just look at Durant's Legacy 💯 (Also, I love DeMar DeRozan...so, there's that 😅😁😄😅)
An admin from quite big NBA trades news account in IG once told me that he don't really like Shams report and never consider him a reliable source. They think that Shams seems only care about being the first one to report it instead of being the most truthful reporter.
I think the reason Heat fans say it was "underwhelming" is more so at the beginning of the Jimmy era, we never got the help he needed. That's why it feels underwhelming at least to me. I feel we could have a ring or 2 if the Front Office just got the man another scorer or a true big. Just my personal opinion, but I definitely appreciate the Jimmy era
As a heat fan Jimmy has brought actual joy back to Miami we weren't expecting a lot and got the moon so I appreciate him but I do think we should move in a different direction
As heat fan I think a good comparison for Jimmy is like a modern mixed between Reggie Miller and Nets JKidd. May not be appreciated in the present but in decade it will gain more respect
jimmy is my second favorite player, and i do think he deserves some heat for his falling spotty playoff spurts, going from the best ever to role player series to series. i personally think his time in miami was amazing, that team is kind of booty in terms of talent, so what he managed was impressive, but, he did fall short, and he deserves the blame for at least some of it. i think it's good to be positive and think about what was good, but we can't just abandon critique. it's great to enjoy basketball for the game of it, but are we really gonna give embiid the pass for failing to ever live up to what we came to expect from his level of talent and the rosters put around him? sometimes we do have to hold people accountable for failing to accomplish the #1 goal of every team every year, which is win it all.
For about 2 years before and the 2 years the Heat made the finals I would talk up and down about how Jimmy was a top 5 player in the league, and everyone would call me crazy. Because a guy had a ring as a 2nd or 3rd option or because a guy throws up 48 points every time they play the wizards and averages 32 in the regular season but couldnt stop a nose bleed or get his team out of the first round of the playoffs, all those dudes were better than Jimmy. Made me truly realize just how many people know jack shit about ball.
some players are called legends without ever winning their conference finals Jimmy gave the Lakers a cold sweat and led the Heat without their best scorer to the finals from the 8th seed this is the kinda guy you call a Legend of the game

i was mid mac and cheese bite at 11:07 and I was so close to spitting my food out. Kenny you my goat thank you sir o7
It’s obvious. If a mind blowing deal comes through, the heat will take it. Anything short of that, they’ll keep him
Jimmy Butler is the kind of player most teams should want on their team.
I'll probably never order Factor but I never skip a Kenny ad so he gets paid.
If you mean the 60 second ads he does watching those does nothing
As a heat fan the Jimmy Butler era has been some of most fun basketball I have ever watched
He was so inconsistent, though. Never played the regular season consistently, and in the playoffs, he faltered when it mattered most. Heat should trade him rn before his value becomes zero.
@@mrincredibleisthagoatlead us to two finals and one was as an 8 seed doesn’t matter. Again top 3 most finals we watched from the Heat
Kenny, the timing of you taking this video out is insane. Butler was supposed to be on a plane to join the team and now he's away from the team to, "Get back into game form". This is also right after his agent has become completely silent on all trade speculations.😂
“Jimmy is a fu*king dog” damn kenny, love the realness.
The Kum Bucket.
????? 😳

[BLANK] situation is getting [BLANK]
If Jimmy truly said that he wanted to be moved before the deadline and Pat said they’re not trading him, you’re gonna have a pissed off Jimmy. That’s bad news for everyone involved
jimmy never said this publicly
he didn’t. why can’t yall fathom shams is lying
@ “if Jimmy truly said that” reading comprehension is a dying skill…
This is WAY juicier than the Dame trade saga.
EDIT: 10:12 Kenny's got a point abt ring culture. In other sports players who have done great stuff w/o winning a championship are still respected but for some reason in basketball, no ring = no legacy.
5:39 I miss teams doing this, but they saw how Kobe dragged the Lakers down in last few years (RIP)
As a heat fan, I dont want miami to be paying jimmy max money in his very late 30s (36-40)
we getting sponsors on the second channel now
This really the main channel now
Congratz
Why would you trade for a 35 year old 2 guard?
Just finished watching the small ball pod from last week and got a new KFR upload I'm in heaven
Hearing kenny swear will never cease to amaze me 😭
Will always amaze you or never cease to amaze you? Lol
@@eggarasu thanks
I honestly think its because they dont respect shams like they did woj because almost anything woj said was treated as gospel so the agent and riley can just go out and qualm any rumors and people wont know who to believe
First time I've seen you. Great job! Even considering ordering Factor.
10:57 The edits are going to go crazy
Jimmy Butler's playoff brilliance defines his Miami legacy, proving greatness isn’t just about rings.
Give it to us straight, Kenny! 💪 Miami's cooked 🔥...But then again, Miami is never cooked 😂😅😂
Also, I agree with "Ring Culture"...Just look at Durant's Legacy 💯 (Also, I love DeMar DeRozan...so, there's that 😅😁😄😅)
Very inspiring videos! Thank you for the new ideas! 💚🍓
An admin from quite big NBA trades news account in IG once told me that he don't really like Shams report and never consider him a reliable source. They think that Shams seems only care about being the first one to report it instead of being the most truthful reporter.
"NBA trade news account on IG"
Kenny bro you were spitting on that ring culture!!!
KENNYYY I LOVE YOUU
As a heat fan Jimmy has brought actual joy back to Miami we weren't expecting a lot and got the moon so I appreciate him but I do think we should move in a different direction
Beautiful! Your videos are always a discovery for me! 💞✨
Kenny telling zero lies about y. He's the definition of a DAWG. He definitely doesn't get the respect he deserves from the average NBA fans wsmwǰĥ
The funny thing is no team with the exception of Brooklyn and maybe San Antonio will have cap space in June.
Watching a Kenny video is the adult version of watching pbs kids after school
10:17 this bit on ring culture 👌🏾
As heat fan I think a good comparison for Jimmy is like a modern mixed between Reggie Miller and Nets JKidd. May not be appreciated in the present but in decade it will gain more respect
Me and Kenny been matching with this hat, feels fire. Love my enjoy bball hat, i wear that shi all the time
That’s right Kenny, never bow down to the smooth brain basketball “fans”
Pat Riley is doing a complete 180 from when Dame was asking out and trying to go to Miami
We need a video on this Sacramento Kings drama
jimmy is my second favorite player, and i do think he deserves some heat for his falling spotty playoff spurts, going from the best ever to role player series to series. i personally think his time in miami was amazing, that team is kind of booty in terms of talent, so what he managed was impressive, but, he did fall short, and he deserves the blame for at least some of it. i think it's good to be positive and think about what was good, but we can't just abandon critique. it's great to enjoy basketball for the game of it, but are we really gonna give embiid the pass for failing to ever live up to what we came to expect from his level of talent and the rosters put around him? sometimes we do have to hold people accountable for failing to accomplish the #1 goal of every team every year, which is win it all.
the fact they even got to the finals either year was wild, they shouldn’t have even stood a chance lmao
The end rant Ring Culture was💯
Came looking for a kings video and also see peak! I already know Kenny cooking up that kings video right now though 👀
THANK YOU, Kenny
Life long Laker fan and even I have a Jimmy butler jersey. That man’s a killer 👌🏽
bro you know its real when kenny droppin f bombs
I mean jimmy is mid regular season but he is indeed a bucket when playoffs comes around
Jimmy B needs a Larry O. B.
some players are called legends without ever winning their conference finals
Jimmy gave the Lakers a cold sweat and led the Heat without their best scorer to the finals from the 8th seed
this is the kinda guy you call a Legend of the game
