There seem to be a bunch of people testing these same devices, and many were given the units by the company that makes them. If so, did Workshop Addict receive yours free. And if yes, did you have to sing a paper that restricted or limited what you were able to say or not able to say?
These items were of interest to us because of all the reviews and because of all the cars we have and how we could use them. We were not given these. We signed nothing. I used the GB70 to jump the Jeep we are building 2 days ago and I would recommend these to anyone. While I am not sure how long they will last, our are 2 years old, they sure are handy and they do work.
Hallo...no company give me somthing! I live in Romania and here NOCO is not for sale in any store. I ordered on eBay from USA payd 220 € So buy this jump starter with confidence !
Hi , I own a NOCO GB 70 and I can tell you that is a great product. This unit is pack with quality . I use it to start a 3 lit. diesel Audi in a very cold morning. It starts the engine like I had a new battery in it. Then I think it to start a bulldozer with 6 lit. diesel engine . Very cold morning . All was frozen.dead batteri on buldozer . I was highly happy when I turn on the key. In five seconds the engine started.....easy . Fantastic product.
I watched the video and I clearly saw that these guys were not able to start a 4.0 liter engine and I know that they know what they are doing. However this was not my experience at all. I just bought one of these and the first thing I did was test it on my Chevy Silverado with a 5.3 liter engine. I disconnected the cables and hooked the GB40 up direct using the boost mode this thing started my truck 12 times in a row taking the charging light down to 75%. I couldn't be more pleased with it because all I'm interested in is it being capable of jumping truck not twelve times but one time just enough to get me home or to a repair shop and the one I bought will do exactly that.
It is the most powerful jump starter I've ever had I've had many been working for Mechanics for years when I bought this thing I was amazed on how many times I can get a start out of a car with a dead battery without even flinching and without recharging
I have the gb40.. I have used it a few times.. I have a Lincoln MKX and the battery has been weak for some time now and i havent changed it yet.. One day i left the radio on too long, and after trying to sit and wait for the car battery to build charge, i finally decided to walk over to Autozone to buy a boost pack.. I decided on gettin the gb40 bcuz of the price and the 6Liter max on the box.. I was hopin it was precharged, since the salesman did not know.. When i turned it on, it had a 25% charge right out the box, but i still wasnt sure it that was gonna be enuff, since the starter wasnt even turnin the engine any more.. But after hookin it up, my vehicle started up without any hesitation.. I charged the pack up thru the lighter over night, and now its at 100% full charge.. It stays in the car now.. :-)
intresting reveiw and glad you mentioned the differnece between hooking it up with a battery versus no battery. I just saw another reveiw where they just hooked it up to the car with no battery and made the claim the noco didnt work
The NOCO BOOST HD GB70 is The Best InVestMent that I've made!!! It's PowerFul, easy to use, it's small, lightweight and has enough juice for you rmore than a couple of uses! I absolutely just Love mine ❤
I have a GB70 for my car, and a GB150 for my truck. I like the GB150 because it has a volt meter on it. I can see the battery voltage as soon as it is connected. With the GB70, I have to use a separate volt meter. I often charge them using the USB using a USB 2 Amp mobile phone charger. I keep each one in their own carry case with their accessories. I also have the dedicated NOCO fast charger, which is better with the GB 150.
Have a GB70 and keep in a metal ammo can under seat. Reason for metal ammo can is in case Lithium battery pack catches on fire will not get to far. Just extra precaution...
I just got one today got a great deal on it . For the big one awesome power on that little sucker I work with lots of construction dozers and Crains it works great
That's exactly the second reason why I would use this, for when I'm in the bush and need backup power for whatever it may be. My bluetooth speaker and phone.
The NOCO GB40 will accommodate most cars and crossovers, but if you have a truck or an SUV with a larger engine, the GB70 is a better option. The 1,000-amp GB40 will handle gas engines up to six liters, which covers a majority of half-ton trucks and every small to midsize sedan or SUV. If you have a “daily driver,” the GB40 offers enough juice to fire up your struggling car battery on a cold morning. Although NOCO designates the GB70 as the “truck model,” the GB40 can accommodate smaller diesel powertrains up to three liters in displacement. The 2,000-amp GB70 will jump gasoline engines up to eight liters and diesel powertrains that are six liters in displacement, including late-model HD trucks. As a more muscular alternative to the GB40, the GB70 is designed to handle the rigors of heavy-use trucks and vans, including those that may be part of a fleet or in service as construction, delivery, or farm vehicles. If you have a smaller vehicle but like the idea of the GB70’s extra capacity, you can still use it without damaging your battery. The GB70’s heft and power are throttled back automatically when it recognizes it’s attached to a smaller battery.
Tisk tisk tisk, at 2:07 you hooked up the battery cables BACKWARDS, you hook up the positive cable first then the ground and when disconnecting its the ground first then the positive. Don't mean to be a stickler but I have to complain about SOMETHING. I have the GB40, love it.
Hey guys, With this type of battery the voltage goes up a bit as the batteries warm. If you get a chance, try it again on the Jeep without the Jeep's battery connected, but try it a few times with small breaks between tries.
+Alan Locklear Alan, while this did not start our Jeep without the battery, it did start it with a dead battery. I feel the GB40 is a great option for an engine of this size. We did some unconventional testing and we do not want to harm the GB40 or the vehicle.

This is the second video tonight that I've watched re GB70. It will work on my car the first time around if the buttons are pushed in the right sequence. It has something to do with >2 volts and that little tiny red button! Could you possibly make a video that focuses on how to restart a TOTALLY dead battery? It does not work consistently YET but I am sure it's something I am doing because I used it twice on the same car 2 days ago. I did pay for my jump starter, have used other jump starters with confidence, this one is new.
My battery on my 2009 Trailblazer went totally dead and my Die Hard battery charger would not work because the battery was totally dead. AAA came and had a GB70 and turned the car over in seconds. I just purchased the item and it is sitting under my front seat.
I am a professional mechanic and keep the gb70 in my tool box. have not found a car it will not start. My service manager is thinking of getting the gb150 for our shop.
Chris Champagne i have a 150,i can start cars all day for the whole week, i recharge it on sat by usb, it takes 2 days and overnight through the cigarette lighter on my truck
Thank you that's what I wanted to know =) My battery was completely dead 12 degrees C under 0. Since you couldn't start your engine without a battery with this at warm temp. That means the GB40 is useless for me to say the least. Would've been a waste of 135$ So glad I saw your video. I won't buy.
I definitely am interested in one of these jump start packs but the price on these is a little high for me. Nice video though, great point on the light and leads
The lights and cables are a non-issue. Just "swap" the cables around. Take them off of their resting plastic pieces and move them to the other side, when you're going to use it. Works fine.
I have a GB70,,for me it has two bugbears,,, first I want to be able to start my BMW R1200RT motorbike without stripping it down ,,so want some an easy hookup without using the clamps,,on the GB40 you can buy an adapter on the GB70 you cannot,, I have to comeup with something myself... Lastly charging ..Charging via USB is impracticable as it takes solong... and charging from a vehicle just does not suit my situation.. so I had to buy the option of a mains charger for my unit..Not Ideal... But overall I an very pleased ,,it starts anything this side of a supertanker and seems tobe a quality product...regards
I have a GB40 and it does not start my 6 litter 2008 nissan maxima engine 😤. So disappointed. The only thing it's good for now is a big charger for smart devices 👍🏽. So I ordered the GB70 praying it works better 🙏🏾. If not hulkman looks really good
I have the GB40 and it didn't bring back my completely dead battery to live not even with the boost button.. It works when the battery low but doesn't work when the battery totally dead.. Would the GB70 bring my battery back to life? Is it match my 2010 Honda fit sport 12v battery?
these are nice little units , the problem is that they do not produce anywhere near the output that they claim the gb40 only puts out around 300 cranking amps. Also it is not advisable to carry one or charge one inside your car. Lithium batteries and heat do not play well together. If you must carry one in your car keep it in the trunk. never charge one in your car unattended .
Hi I have gb40 more than 2 years. I can tell this unit can't start up to 6Liter. In case the battery for the car is dead , can't start even 3.0 litre while some cheaper jump starter can do. If you want to bay noco product go for gb70. It won't let you down like gb40. But becearful from one problem. There is commen problem from noco product. The battery inside has balloon .if you leave the product in high or low temperature the balloon will pump and the case will open. After tow years many people complain from this problem. Some says I don't leave it in high or law temps. You can check this problem in TH-cam. Thanks & Sorry for my bad English
I have the GB40 remote jump starter and I tried it on my Ford Escape and I didn't get anything to work, but the lights on the charger is working, but nothing on the battery. I will try once more before contacting someone online to find out what may be the problem.
I show this all in the video. Does not charge through the battery connection. Made to jump start a low battery but will start a no battery car for short periods. Lithium poler battery's do not like being charged by a car and can blow up.
Tonio Yendis correct. The GB40, alone, with no battery connected would not start our 4.0 liter. But, that is not how this unit is designed to work. It is designed to have a battery connected to work. We went to an extreme to test it.
Ive run vehicles off my gb30 that I've owned for 5 years now a ls400 lexus 4.0 v8 started 5.4l triton engine that had a battery showing 0v they are awesome sometimes vehicle battery terminals are cause for starting issue
@@aceheisenberg6054 yes this would definitely work I own a shop start cars with no battery or alternators out all the time shouldnt have any issue with it the cheap brands tend to not work as well

how about the 4000 model, will it start a 6.6 diesel eng. its a duramax diesel.? great video since all of these cars was started in the cold what look like a couple of feet of snow. thks again, good show!!!!!
Thanks for the review, I want one for when I am stuck on a desert island :op LOL , That was funny. Anyways, how long would it take the GB70 to charge from when it's at it lowest point? Also how many Boosters can I get if I have an 8 Cylinder Infiniti FX45 Sport SUV? I want to make sure my sons and wives car have one of these each :o) Thanks again for your Video and Response.
+ERVARGAS NYC If you charge the GB70 via USB, it will take a few hours. Probably around 4. You can use the cigarette lighter port and it would cut that down to about an hour. You can get as many of these boosters as you want as you have an infinity...... :) Give me a call when you one the desert island, I will search you out.
What is an 8 liter gas engine ? is that the same as (V8) engine - I have a 2004 Ford Escape SUV Truck with a 3.0 L V6 engine - so I presume the 2000A booster it will be enough to start my trucks dead battery -
I bought it few weeks ago and used 1 time then it’s been sitting inside box. When I took it out for a service the battery was fully charged. I hooked it up to a dead battery. I turned it on and the charge lights are blinking all of them just like in the video I thought there was something wrong because the first time I used it didn’t do that. It still working with no problems. But again I hooked it up to another good battery and turn it on by pressing power bottom and all the lights are blinking just like in this video. My question is if this is normal because I’m the other guys videos the genius does not do that. Thank you.
i have a ferrari 458 italia with a dead battery , is this equipment safe ? i've heard that ferrari's tent to frye when you do that , please somebody knows the deal in this case ? i only see videos of old cars been jumpstarted , but how about the luxury ones , how they respond to the jumpstart ? thanks to anyone that helps
NEGATIVE. You need to charge the battery before starting or provide enough power so the voltage does not dip to below 10V when starting. I would make sure that battery is good before charging or starting that car.
@@WorkshopAddict thank you very much , will do ! makes sense (Y) the NOCO G3500 charges lithium batteries it seems , i'll go with that product , put the charge and then try what you said , best regards from chile

The GB40 left my wife’s 6 cylinder car stranded at 4:30 am in 35 degree temperature one cold, rainy, windy morning at work....she shut her car off and it wouldn’t start back up, so she remembered I put the GB40 in her car for peace of mind... she hooked it up and it wouldn’t crank the engine even one full revolution, so from there on out we only use it to start lawnmowers... 😡 however, I just bought the GB70 and hopefully it has big enough cohones to get the job done, plus some! I should’ve went big in the first place, but I thought since the package said it was rated at 1000 amps it would’ve had more than enough kick for the job, but unfortunately later I found out the only thing they “AMPED” up, was them numbers for marketing purposes! 😡
You said the GB70 was good for 6 cylinder diesel engines. I have a 7.3 liter 8 cylinder diesel with dual batteries. Would this work for that engine or should I go with a bigger one? Thanks
The GB70 is good for 6.0 liter diesels and below. I am in a similar boat with my 6.7 liter Ford diesel. I know it will work if the batteries are just low, but if they are dead, you have an engine that is too much for this pack. the GB150 will be where we will most likely want to be if we want to be covered 100 percent of the time no matter what situation.
Hello, I got a 3.0L Diesel Range Rover Sport, which one do you recommend, since the battery is totally dead, won't even open the doors without the security key. Would the GB40 make it?
how is it possible that a small 11.1V 2150 mAh battery (which is inside GB40) starts a diesel car ? Its like starting the car with 3 common cell phone batteries in series.
+Ray Ortines In a way you could...... You would be connecting it to the battery and adding some more amps and possibly raising the voltage to normal. If the car started, it could indicate a weak battery. But there are times when a starter is going bad and this extra power could help the car start. It would not be the end all tool, but one that would work 80 percent of the time or more.
My car has 3.6L 6-cylinder engine. Would GB40 be enough for that engine? I see that GB40 failed to start the Jeep without the battery so I am little bit worried
+Yuki Sung I feel that you will be fine. No one should do the test we did by starting the car without any battery, so I feel it will work great for you.
SREagle lithium ion do a slower discharge than Lithium Polymer and that is why they use Lithium Polymer to give a high wattage output. But needless to say you're not going to get the amps or the Watts that they specify because they are Peak
yes I looked it up and they use a Lithium Ion, Not so good. There more expensive the Lithium Iron but do a much better job a friend of mine has one sorry do not remember the manufacture, price about $180 if i remember correctly and i witnessed him jump a diesel skip loader, I think it worth spending the extra because when you need it you need it to work.
I want to buy the GB40 so bad but can someone please explain how a 1000amp charger cant start a 4.0 engine that requires 600amps to start.. I'm confuse as hell... did they lie?
Im on my second noco GB40 unit and they are just a peace of junk. They sent me what seems to be the new revision at the beginning of 2020, tested it with my mower which evidently worked, on the weekend I purchased a 2005 4 cylinder Sentra with a weak battery the stupid thing could not give one decent crank at a decent speed to start the engine noco was fully charged., I though something was wrong with the engine, since I had a bad experience with my first noco unit, I took my wife's car battery out and tested with that, car started at the third try. this units are overpriced terrible products.
I understand and that is why we said, do not do this at home and why we did not let the car run. But we proved beyond a shadow of a doubt what they are capable of.

I have started my 7.4l 454 Chevy in the dead of winter with the gb40
@@cj599
Yes. But sometimes you can't.I don't know why. You can check that in TH-cam also
I have the GB40 remote jump starter and I tried it on my Ford Escape and I didn't get anything to work, but the lights on the charger is working, but nothing on the battery. I will try once more before contacting someone online to find out what may be the problem.
If the car battery you are charging does not have more than 2 volts, you have to turn on the NoCo manually. We go over that in this video.
The silver guy is a cutie. 😘
Which one do you recommend buying just for jump staring motorcycles and will fit in my jacket pocket? GB 30 maybe
I have never put my hands on the GB30, the 40 works well and I assume the 30 would also
Get the gb20 for motorcycles and small cylinder cars. The GB20 is 20 dollars cheaper than the 40.
Did you say you could recharge the gb40 from a car's cigarette lighter even though the car's battery was dead? How does that work? Thanks.
Brian 5:28
Once u start the engine successfully, it will charge back up using the energy supplied by the alternator thru the cigarette lighter port
Would this also work for the battery to start outboard boat motor?
Yes, Without issue. Even a 300 HP one.
@@WorkshopAddict Thanks very much for the quick reply. Have "Amazoned" one.
Nice, Thanks!
Charges the booster when it stays on the battery?
Does it goes to start the car without a car battery, only with the booster?
I show this all in the video. Does not charge through the battery connection. Made to jump start a low battery but will start a no battery car for short periods. Lithium poler battery's do not like being charged by a car and can blow up.
So, the gb40 would not turn the 4.0 liter when it was directly connected, even though they claim it will start 6.0 liter gas and 3.0 liter diesel?
Tonio Yendis correct. The GB40, alone, with no battery connected would not start our 4.0 liter. But, that is not how this unit is designed to work. It is designed to have a battery connected to work. We went to an extreme to test it.
Ive run vehicles off my gb30 that I've owned for 5 years now a ls400 lexus 4.0 v8 started 5.4l triton engine that had a battery showing 0v they are awesome sometimes vehicle battery terminals are cause for starting issue
@@onetwoyouadeadman I used loads of jumpstart but none work for me.i own 1.9 TDI VW caddy.do you think this will work

Hi Can I use 100 watts and how many hours continue at work
Could the gb40 start 4.6l v8 Cadillac Dts or should I get the gb70
how about the 4000 model, will it start a 6.6 diesel eng. its a duramax diesel.? great video since all of these cars was started in the cold what look like a couple of feet of snow. thks again, good show!!!!!
Does the same cable work for both the gb40 AND the gb70?
Will this work for atv's as well example would be a Honda rancher trx350
Yes it will.
Got a few atvs that have not run all winter. Will i need to charging. Or am i trickle. Charging?
Full charge, not trickle.
@@WorkshopAddict full charge. I dont have the main tainer. I have the big one. Its red. On e bay.
What is an 8 liter gas engine ? is that the same as (V8) engine - I have a 2004 Ford Escape SUV Truck with a 3.0 L V6 engine - so I presume the 2000A booster it will be enough to start my trucks dead battery -
Yes it would.
Will the gb70 be safe for a 4.6l northstar v8 engine
Yes, plenty.
I purchase the 40 and gave 1 as a gift. 🎉😅
Thank you.
Yes it is normal. Whenever you over-ride the safety system. Other people probably never test it on a 100% dead battery.

i have a ferrari 458 italia with a dead battery , is this equipment safe ? i've heard that ferrari's tent to frye when you do that , please somebody knows the deal in this case ? i only see videos of old cars been jumpstarted , but how about the luxury ones , how they respond to the jumpstart ? thanks to anyone that helps
Andrew Smith great help you poor bastard 😂, I’m feel bad for people with this level of bitterness , my ass sits in Italian leather you liked of not ;)
The only thing I would like to see is an AC input so I could charge it from house current.
You can recharge the gb70 from a normal mobile (cell) phone charger.
They do sell the charger for the house electric wall plug.

No, dont plug it into the cigg lighter, plug it into the 12v socket ;)
ok but can u charge the booster when its in the car for the next boost??
Yes, through the cig lighter.

The GB70 costs more than the GB40, but it will never let you down. amzn.to/3c9mBDL
hi guys ,question is if I have 2.4 diesel engine or I buy some 3 diesel engine, which I need to buy gb40 or gb70
thanks
Alex Vladimirovich Always better to buy bigger.
Save yourself money. Dont buy this crap. 3.0d 11.88V battery . GB40 NOT EVEN CLOSE TO START THE ENGINE!!
Bought and tested gb40, very very underpowered would not recommend.
@@vunit8213 Was it FULLY charged ?
You said the GB70 was good for 6 cylinder diesel engines. I have a 7.3 liter 8 cylinder diesel with dual batteries. Would this work for that engine or should I go with a bigger one? Thanks
The GB70 is good for 6.0 liter diesels and below. I am in a similar boat with my 6.7 liter Ford diesel. I know it will work if the batteries are just low, but if they are dead, you have an engine that is too much for this pack. the GB150 will be where we will most likely want to be if we want to be covered 100 percent of the time no matter what situation.
John Reed isnot going to start a 7.3,i boosted one 6.0 but the batteries weren't totally dead, 7. 3 didn't started
Hello, I got a 3.0L Diesel Range Rover Sport, which one do you recommend, since the battery is totally dead, won't even open the doors without the security key. Would the GB40 make it?
It will but I suggest the gb70 since you have a 3.0 ... the gb40 is rated only for 3.0 and that is the max for diesel
I just got one of these. How do you charge it?
I use a USB phone charger.
So gb40 wouldn't start an f150 5.4 l?
If the car was 100% dead, probably not.
the unit come with wall charger to recharge the unit?
sunsteve1 The GB40 doesn't, just the cigarette adapter and USB cable. Any charger should work though, up to 2 amps.
how is it possible that a small 11.1V 2150 mAh battery (which is inside GB40) starts a diesel car ?
Its like starting the car with 3 common cell phone batteries in series.
Can you use this to pinpoint that IT IS the car battery that is weak to use, and it's not another reason why the car won't start?
+Ray Ortines In a way you could...... You would be connecting it to the battery and adding some more amps and possibly raising the voltage to normal. If the car started, it could indicate a weak battery. But there are times when a starter is going bad and this extra power could help the car start. It would not be the end all tool, but one that would work 80 percent of the time or more.
would the gb 70 be safe to jump a small car?
Yes. Your car will take the amps it needs and not the 2000 amps that this unit supposely got.
Doesnt the gb70 come with a ob2 memory saver
No the GB70 does not come with a ob2 memory saver. That would be an accessory you can purchase separately
My car has 3.6L 6-cylinder engine. Would GB40 be enough for that engine? I see that GB40 failed to start the Jeep without the battery so I am little bit worried
The Jeep is a straight six 4.0 and there was no battery attached. I think the GD40 would do fine on your V6.
Mine is actually flat 6. Does it matter?
+Yuki Sung I feel that you will be fine. No one should do the test we did by starting the car without any battery, so I feel it will work great for you.
Boy ,the guy on the right made me fall asleep...

Lithium Ion OR Lithium Iron and YES they are different which one does it have ???
Pretty sure these are lithium polymer.
best i can tell after my research is it's Lithium ion and they make it hard to find that fact, I'm looking for an Lithium Iron thank you
SREagle lithium ion do a slower discharge than Lithium Polymer and that is why they use Lithium Polymer to give a high wattage output.
I did not know there was a maintainers. Im serious. But it sounds. Like i need 1. I bought last year. There brand new.
I want to buy the GB40 so bad but can someone please explain how a 1000amp charger cant start a 4.0 engine that requires 600amps to start.. I'm confuse as hell... did they lie?
No chance. Read my earlier review. It cant start 3.0l diesel with battery just slightly undercharged. Complete fiasco.
Mine lasted a year. No NOCO ever again for me.
Hooking this up without a battery will ruin your alternator.
I understand and that is why we said, do not do this at home and why we did not let the car run. But we proved beyond a shadow of a doubt what they are capable of.
Oh my gosh they said “CIGARETTE LIGHTER” somebody call the P.C. police! Think of the children!
The kids are ok, we gave them a new red rider and sent them out to shoot.
