I am finally loading fonts and graphics - I have always worked in ttf before - should I or could I download both or will the other format (I forgot the ending right now) will that work on other programs besides cricut driven.
Moving graphics to external drive. do they extract the same way?

+Cynthia Zwick Hi Cynthia, I personally download the OTF file unless the TTF is the only one available. As for graphics, yes, you can extract the same way. Once saved to your folder, no need to install like you do fonts.

I have a quick question about the fonts - what is the difference between OTF and TTF? I thought you wanted TTF to use with Die Cut machines. Can you cut the OTF? Thanks - bought the bundle - and just love your vids!!

+tisha grindley That's a great question! Yes, Design Space can access OTF and TTF files. They are basically the same but OTF is a more modern and updated font file. Here is the definition on both via GraphicDesign site:
They are file formats for storing font information.
TrueType was invented by Apple as a competition to Adobe's PostScript Type1. Both TrueType and PostScript fonts became the standard file formats for fonts for the past 3 decades or so of desktop publishing. In terms of your average designer, the differences between the two are relatively unimportant.OpenType was designed to replace these and was created initially by Adobe and Microsoft. It's basically a newer format that is more robust. For a designer, the primary benefits of OpenType over previous formats are a) an much larger character set and b) automatic alternative character and ligature support (for software that supports it). graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/questions/5618/whats-the-difference-between-opentype-vs-truetype

2 quick questions - 1 can I use these fonts in programs other than design space? And - can you give me the link how to install the other graphics purchases from Hungry Jpeg? I purchased a huge bundle but have not installed yet

+Cynthia Zwick Yes, you may use these fonts in any software that uses fonts. For installing graphics, download one link at a time as it is packed with files. Once they are downloaded, you would do the same steps and extract the files. Once they are extracted you would just insert them into your projects. I recommend saving the graphics on a USB stick if you don't want to take up too much space on your computer. For fonts, they take up very little space.
