In this video I test out the XIAO BLE microcontroller from Seeed Studio. This may be my new favorite microcontroller as it is fast, powerful, and works great using Arduino Code. This video demonstrates how to control BluetoothLE devices using an application on your Android device using MIT APP Inventor. In this video I show you how to control the exact postion of a linear actuator using a smart phone, and how to display the linear actuator position on the smart phone.

New workshops are exciting! I need to do almost the same thing with analogue i put and some sort of digital display. Thanksfor getting me started.

this is awesome! seeing an example mit app inventor app makes me think i could probably automate turning the knob on my heater. thanks so much!

I am using a under bench router with the same actuator you are using in this session. I am just using a 2pole swithch for rise and fall, nothing else although I might put a pot in the line for fine/slow adjustment. I would like to be able to set cutter position by raising the cutter until it touches something metalic to complete the circuit and stop movement. I currently have a similar setup for setting the Z axis on the cnc but I don't have the know how to do it for the router table. Any suggestions without getting complicated, thanks

thank you for sharing. could you please share how you developed the codes for MIT in details?

Sorry, that project was so long ago it would take me a while to get back up to speed. But thanks for watching!

good stuff, though can you actually record when you are creating the App Inventor stuff? Just skimming thought the code doesn't work for most people.

Great content, but the Actuator file has 2 INOs no AIA, just FYI, thanks!

My bad. I just added it to Gumroad. But you can also email ScienceFunBiz@gmail.com and I will send it to you. Sorry about that!
