  • Well, the result is pretty clear. But try to watch how capable and competitive the 630 Ci actually is. Of course - thanks to it's manual gearbox :-). Very interesting...

That 645 on start feels sluggish and almost feels like it lacks power . I have owned 630i and currently own 645ci . I can tell that 630i is a fast car no doubt and masterpiece of 3.0 naturally aspirated engine , but 645 is different ball game . This video doesn’t do justice to 645ci as in reality it is noticeably quicker car . 630 is quick in city , but on highway it doesn’t feel that fast on the other hand highway is where 645ci shines , instant torque and acceleration pretty much at any speeds . Plus the sound is music to the ears .

@@benedektoth3905 these engines can be problematic , so my advice is be careful when choosing the right car as if it wasn’t well looked after it can quickly turn from dream car to nightmare . @@arturforever2060 There is definitely noticeable difference in acceleration in comparison to 630i to 645ci no doubt , all thought 630i is weary impressive on acceleration from 0-100km/h . The difference is weary noticeable between these two on motorway speeds after 100km/h where 645ci would take the lead . Consumption is definitely better on 630i . 645ci can give some good fuel consumption if driven carefully especially on motorway although I found it extremely hard to manage giving its power and temptation to utilise it 😁

    I have driven both. A 2005 630i with N52B30 and my own 2004 645ci with N62B44. Both with the ZF6 auto.
The 630i really is a fast car, but you have to use the revs. Unlike the N52, the N62 has the power from down low and makes it a great all rounder for that, but the extra 500rpm makes the 630i sound more like a sports car. If a 630i pulls earlier in a race, you will need suprisingly alot of road to catch it. With muffler delete, it gives you that M3 vibes haha! Alot of car for the money!
The places where the 645ci performance shines is with warm tires. I managed 0-100kph in 5.5sec with on extra passenger and 60% full tank. It also keep pulling alot stronger after 180kmh. To keep the engine happy and alot more reliable, just change thermostat to a colder 90°c one. The OEM 105°c thermostat kills these engines in the long run. For sound, muffler delete makes this car sound alot like the Mercedes-Benz 6.2 AMG engines. That angry muscle car roar!
In the end of the day, both cars will make good daily drivers.

The 6 series isnt heavy at all, 630i manual weighs 1475 kg and 645i weighs 1690 kg. 630i is almost as fast as 645i due to weight and rpm advantages. The reason why people think its heavy, its because it looks massive but this 6 series uses light weight parts for example the fenders and the trunk are made of fiberglass. This 6 series was way ahead of its time

The v8 only comes alive top end, but by then ur doing stupid speed
      (for roads)
It's wierd its more like power & pull that u feel. But no diesel is touching that sound! It purrs beautiful at 2-2.5k revs, & sounds awesome when u accelerate hard (especially in tunnels) v8 all the way..... Nice & smooth too!

@Sean Davies I do agree with you about the v8 sound and I would go for v8 instead of diesel simply for the driving pleasure alone . I had 630i and in city in sport mode it does put you in seat sou no doubt v8 would . However 635d would be faster then 645 hands down . I love e63 sou much that one day I will buy this car again , but this time I will go for v8 for sure . I was debating wether to take diesel performance over petrol sound and driving pleasure and my simple conclusion is that diesel just doesn’t go together with a sports car , plus you can remap v8 and add few horses to it .
