@@thunnisett the backbox is also known as the muffler. The large box just before the exhaust tips. Any exhaust shop will cut that box out and weld a pipe to replace it which results in less insulation or "muffle"
I can't tell you if that's a good deal as the UK market is different to other countries and cars depreciate harder here as we have RHD cars whilst most the the world and our neighbors are LHD so there's less demand for older cars and they tend to be a lot cheaper. In regards to reliability, please check out Timm's BMW Repairs and Information in TH-cam. He's probably done a video on every topic surrounding that car
Great realistic review but 645's are too problematic, All N62's have major reliability issues, including 650's Valve stem seals, coolant transfer pipe leaks, and alternator bracket leaks being the major issues, I drive a 730d and need to get into a V8 before its too late, I'll just put some cash aside and get a 650 e64 LCI car, its gotta be done.
If they are well taken care of and some preventative maintence done, those issues can mostly be avoided. Once sorted and looked after, they are extremely reliable. N62 will run forever if taken care of properly
Just bought a 645ci,matt black,m4 wheels love the bloody thing😂. Picked it up,drove 10 mins down the road and a stone flicked and broke the screen,I was bloody livid 😡
The manual is such a rare option that I didn't mention it! Literally, at the time of the video, none were on sale in the UK and the auto and SMG are the more popular choices. The auto suits the car as well since it's a GT car
If it goes wrong, yes it will be very expensive. If you don't have issues, bargain of the century! I have mixed feelings on Bangle. In some ways, he's as genius. In some, not so
I love the E46, E39 and E38. Will go down in history as probably the best trio of BMW generation ever if you ask me. But I also like the E60 and E63 too. I like the E65 in pre-facelift form only and the E90 in facelift form. I have my preference when Bangle took over but prior to him, will take any old BMW but that doesn't mean he did a bad job IMO. My favourite M3 is the E92 M3 and that's a product Bangle ultimately
@@k1ortia You gotta be kidding about the Bangle era design. It's the most unique design in the history of BMW. Take a look at the 6 Series, it has aged gorgeously.
Bro I didn’t want to comment but you defending fake noise piped through the speakers is a fake as Monopoly money 💵 and not for me I rather ride a donkey or go electric. Just my opinion. Nice review though.
This car is incredibly loud but also well insulated. You can tell from when the window is closed and open. With the windows up, it's very hard to tell you're sat on a 4.4 NA V8 and that's where active sound comes in for modern cars. I'm fully against a Golf R that has 5 cylinder noises coming through the speakers but I'm not against a car that only enhances the exhaust note. There's a fine line here and I'm picky about what I like and don't. If Kenny wanted his car to be heard even with windows up, he'd have to straight pipe it which would cause unbearable drone so there needs to be some middle ground. Also, it's important to note active sound isn't just random noise. It matches the cars exhaust note and the rev of the car to make it authentic as possible.
The manual 645Ci is extremely rare in the UK to the point if you look for one, there's literally not a single one for sale. In regards to the M6, the UK only got it with an SMG. I don't know what country you're from Dimitar but you're definitely not from our neck of the woods...
@@CarNitty Yeah, your car taxes are wet dream for me, I'm paying 450euros for 730d f01...even if I have e63, I would never be able to straight pipe it or mod it in anyway, it would not pass inspection :$
@@CarNitty Wow, even if you beat system, you wont beat cop, when he sends you on inspection again :D like he did to me a while ago when I had downpipe on my 535d e60 :D they seized my car for 3 months :$, btw Idk why but 630i is more expensive then 645i and 650i, and diesel 635d is most expensive...
Police are able to enforce fines and laws even if the car passed it's inspections. The 630i is arguably the most reliable engine choice in terms of petrol and the lowest in terms of running costs. The 635d issues m offers fuel economy as well as a twin turbo diesel for tunability so that's why they're sought after
I know the N62 has its flaws but I think if you do your due diligence and and check out someone like Timm's BMW repairs on TH-cam, you can buy a good example and have a trouble free ownership. @@CarNitty is this something you purchase or just cut out, remove and weld up?
@@thunnisett the backbox is also known as the muffler. The large box just before the exhaust tips. Any exhaust shop will cut that box out and weld a pipe to replace it which results in less insulation or "muffle"
@@CarNitty thanks. Does it have 2 back boxes in the e64? And was that just one or both?
One for each exhaust tip as they're not joined together
I have this car also...its the modern day knight rider...
The ultimate used BMW without a doubt!
I’ve found a 2004 645ci with 90k miles for $8250 is this a good deal or not??
Also is it reliable enough to own?
I can't tell you if that's a good deal as the UK market is different to other countries and cars depreciate harder here as we have RHD cars whilst most the the world and our neighbors are LHD so there's less demand for older cars and they tend to be a lot cheaper.
In regards to reliability, please check out Timm's BMW Repairs and Information in TH-cam. He's probably done a video on every topic surrounding that car
@@CarNitty I will make sure to check it out before I consider buying it, thank you very much brudda
When the guy says he hardly sees the traction light I don’t believe it as mine is constantly trying to kill me
I'd say to you to check your tyres out perhaps as this genuinely didn't struggle to put the power down
@@CarNitty You're right. It's because of the tyres.
Looking at this car in norway, tempted.
If they're as good value for money as they are in the UK, go for it. Just make sure you get a good example
Standard exhaust ?

Great realistic review but 645's are too problematic, All N62's have major reliability issues, including 650's Valve stem seals, coolant transfer pipe leaks, and alternator bracket leaks being the major issues, I drive a 730d and need to get into a V8 before its too late, I'll just put some cash aside and get a 650 e64 LCI car, its gotta be done.
You replied to your own initial section of your comment when you counteracted the fact it's unreliable that you still need a V8! That just sums it up
@@CarNitty Mate I'm on my 5th BMW, I'm going into this with my eyes wide open😂😂😂😂😂
Just close your eyes and pray that it all works out!
That windshield must've been weak for it to crack so easily. Hope the future ownership experience is good
@@CarNitty it was quite a rock mind, made hell of a bang.
Main thing is you're safe and he damage is repairable
Im thinking about to buy one
Hope this video helps your buying decision
@@CarNitty yeah for lets say 15.000 € you get a f… v8 lol
Correction notice! 6spd manual was made in 04 and very few people got it. I’ve got one.
The manual is such a rare option that I didn't mention it! Literally, at the time of the video, none were on sale in the UK and the auto and SMG are the more popular choices. The auto suits the car as well since it's a GT car
@@CarNitty the 6 speed manual is fantastic. Good on ya mate...
@@jeffjones2021 no doubt as the years have gone on, the auto and SMG have aged poorly whereas the manual looks to be the sought after choice no doubt!
I actually have an 05 manual.
05 6speed loaded probably only a handful exist
I can't hear that from my 645..?
Do you mean the exhaust tone?
Great power for the cost, good luck with the running cost though? Worst thing to ever happen to bmw was Bangle.
If it goes wrong, yes it will be very expensive. If you don't have issues, bargain of the century!
I have mixed feelings on Bangle. In some ways, he's as genius. In some, not so
@@CarNitty I can see what you mean. but his design is to be questioned? i can design cars better. And that's the truth.
@@CarNitty Yes i agree.
Bizarre......I have a 2004 645Ci Msport conv....... Yes, it IS/was available
The M Sport trim was introduced in 2007/8 in the E63/E64 platform
There is manual 645ci for a mater of fact there is manual m6 too .Do your research better before you talk about cars
The manual 645Ci is extremely rare in the UK to the point if you look for one, there's literally not a single one for sale. In regards to the M6, the UK only got it with an SMG. I don't know what country you're from Dimitar but you're definitely not from our neck of the woods...
Rather pay the road tax than pay the mechanic 😭
650i would cost me 1k euros for road tax (per year) fuck EU!
Wow, you're making our £600 levy seem quite small in comparison!
@@CarNitty Yeah, your car taxes are wet dream for me, I'm paying 450euros for 730d f01...even if I have e63, I would never be able to straight pipe it or mod it in anyway, it would not pass inspection :$
We have inspections in our country too but just like anything in this world, people find a way to beat the system
The 635d issues m offers fuel economy as well as a twin turbo diesel for tunability so that's why they're sought after
This car came with WICKED speakers

Yes it was very filthy. The owner was very busy the the entire week before the shoot so wasn't able to wash it before he come onto the channel
I was thinking to get this car at 17 but idk about the insurance 😂😂😭😭😭😭😭

I know the N62 has its flaws but I think if you do your due diligence and and check out someone like Timm's BMW repairs on TH-cam, you can buy a good example and have a trouble free ownership.
