Bob I'm going to order those one from you guys this next week in this recommendation. I know everyone loves the wrist mounts but after 31 years I still like my hanging gauges.

This looks exactly like the Aeris Atmos Ai. I've owned one of those computers for 10 years and it was great. Excellent interface and very easy to read the console at all depths.

You are correct, the I-550 is the same unit with some slight changes and in my experience a very good dive computer.
As with anything mechanical or electronic, there are/ may be units that pop up with issues.

This is the exact setup I have. It is very user friendly and easy to read even in low viz and on night dives. The attached compass is at an optimal angle to see both the compass and console screen while navigating.

@@DiversSupplyYT Yeah a backlit screen would definitely make it better, especially for night dives.

Great video to run through the computer. Thank you. I am STILL using my brick- (Orca's Phoenix) as I just love how it works when I do some deep diving and need guidance for deco. Does the i550 have deco mode? I am going to the Pacific in November and realize that I need to have a new computer to avoid issues on this once in a life time trip!

Toni, gently lift what would be the bottom of the clip and turn it left or right to the out position. Dont lift too much but just enough to clear the lip. Hope that helps.

I've owned this computer for about 6 years, and have around 160 dives on it. It really does a great job. The only thing I'd say is that the rear battery cover plastic eventually yellows and become brittle. It makes it very hard to tighten and loosen, and this can lead to floods. I recommend replacing the cover after about four years.
The cover doesn't open well if you don't have to tool that is a similar width to the crack. The aluminum coin that came with my perdix works well, but a quarter does not.
I've had a few issues with the logged dives showing up with some anomalies. I'll get a few anomalous datapoints at an absurd depth, somewhere in the 200ft range, usually at the start of the dive. Not sure what the issue is, but it showed up on a small number of my dives.

Thanks for your comments Seth. My son just bought another one of these computers...

@@DiversSupplyYT I should add that it seems to be designed to have better odds of surviving flooding. I've seen it flooded with salt water on two separate occasions, and it survived both times. I think the battery compartment is somewhat sealed from the electronics.

Good computer, only issue I had with it is every dive trip I have to set the date and time. I dive two weekends a month year round, and the date would be incorrect on every trip

Ken, Nice to have one if you don't know where your anchored boat is... surface, shoot a heading to the boat and drop down 10' and swim back following your heading.

I have one of these, it will stay on for days at a time, and kills batteries very quickly, I am trying to get it straightened out at my local dive shop. Have you seen this occur?

You can find these as; 550 with hose, 550 with Compass and 550 with Quick Disconnect.. and you can add on the compass later if you wish...
I like the whole angled thing with this console unit.. my favorite of console style computers..

Believe it or not, a few years ago at DeMA a company had a prototype dive computer they were saying had text messaging being developed in it.
Never saw them again after that year though…

I only logged 10 dives with this before it wouldn’t give me air pressure anymore. After 6 months of waiting still no computer. Aqua lung service is horrible.
