I'm still driving a Dacor Darwin Air, air integrated console computer that I bought from y'all back in 2006. I recently bought a Seac Screen wrist computer when you had a sale on them. I've only gotten a few dives on it so far, but I'm really not a fan of having that one more piece of gear to remember to bring and to have to put on on the boat. I definitely don't regret buying it, but so far I'm missing the simplicity of the console style computer.

Hi Dustin, the Darwin Air is a good unit with Nitrox settings. The Screen is a super easy to see computer and a convenient user interface.
I believe I understand your use of "simplicity", in that when you look at your air you see your computer automatically and vice-versa.
Here's what I would add to your consideration, while diving and you swimming in a neutral buoyancy position, likely your hands (therefore wrists) are just in front of and slightly below your face.
Now, you have the ease of a quick glance down *every few seconds* , at your "Right" wrist, to see things like Depth, Deco/Dive time plus M.O.D. if on Nitrox while using your Screen.
You'll condition yourself to do this now as you use your wrist unit, kinda like driving (since you used the word) you look more at your Speedometer vs looking at your Fuel gauge.
Your excellent point of "simplicity", is why many folks make the leap (read $$$) to AI wrist computers vs the jump (read $-$$) to adding a basic wrist unit.
Too things, one thanks for your patronage and two thank you for watching and two 1/2 thanks for your comments. Bob C

Hi Bob! With the AI computers what do think about a short extension hose off the first stage for the transmitter? I am using a Perdix AI off a Scubapro MK25 it fits fine connected directly to first stage but I have seen a few guys with 6 or 9 inch extension hose. Any advantages or disadvantages? What would you recommend?

Thanks for your note Surf. I totally agree with the transmitter extension 4-6, 9 is a bit much.
Most divers incorrectly wear their computers on their left wrists, so please use your right side HP port.
In addition to moving the Trans out from behind your head, the extension provides a little flexibility to the otherwise rigid Trans.
Some folks add a tie-off for the extension to a right side hose especially if they've used a braided HP ext.
      Regards, Bob C

I have a SEAC Screen. Nice Display. Easier to read. Currently using in Free Dive mode. Lasted about 5 Months. Then suddenly got "Locked Up". Tried Replacing the CR2450. Same issue. Showing Letters in the Depth Readings. And some other weird things. The CEO of SEAC USA had me send it to him. After I sent him a picture of the display. Marco told me that they have been selling the unit for about 3 years. And has never seen what I sent him. Good to know they are Standing by the Product. Waiting to see if it will be Repaired or Replaced?

What do you think of the Atomic BCD?

    • @DiversSupplyYT

The BC-1 is Jacket and BC-2 Back-Inflate Styles. Atomic is big on selling their BCs with Octo-Flates..
      Meh Regards Bob C

Hi Bob, you forgot a point, depending which kind of diveing you so, you may need or prefer a backup computer. But two wirst computer may looks just stupid to you or you already have two Computer, but you really wand to be safe, so a console computer would be perfect to you.

    • @DiversSupplyYT
      @DiversSupplyYT  ปีที่แล้ว +3

In reality these two videos are meant to simply show the various types of Consoles, not a discussion of who wears what or how many dive computers. That would be an interesting subject for another video.
To reply to your comment about someone using two computers, there's a comment that came in right behind yours, that describes someone that bought a console with computer and now bought a wrist style computer.
I see folks buy to just add to their gear set, some because they are entering a realm of diving that "requires" a back-up and of course those that are making a siganifant upgrade to a color screen, etc or to more advanced features (read Tech/CCR/etc).
Personally I could care less about how dumb or stupid something looks, as long as it adds to my safety or effectiveness, I'm all for it.
Thanks for the comments, they are truly appreciated. Bob C
