This is a song for hunting spirits. We all know that hunters were highly respected in any village around the world. They can protect people from dangerous animals, they provide meat for the people and have so many useful skills. People still hunt, but modern hunting is more likely to be for money if they are living in towns. There is still war and obstructions in life, but modern hunters still know how to protect their families and provide for them.
Mabharabhara means a group of Kudu, which is a big animal that provides good meat. So it celebrates a success in hunting.
This song is about modern hunters who achieve but appreciate their ancestral and cultural past and still hunt in the way of their hunting ancestors, and in the way of the Lord.
We do ceremonies today that respect our hunting ancestors that includes barbecued meat, spiritually prepared beer, spiritual music and celebration.
