@@lucianganea3034 Kinda gives it a Mark Bagley look if you put the headsculpt of the Spider-Man from the 2016 SDCC Raft box set on the 2020 retro Spider-Man. That's how I have one of mine. The other with the beat up Peter Parker head from the 2019 Target exclusive Kraven 2-pack. I put the 2019 Kraven 2-pack black suit Spider-Man headsculpt on my retro black suit Spider-Man. I just love those headsculpts so much more than the smaller eyed headsculpts those two Spider-Man figures originally come with.
I found this guy up on Mercari for $60 a few months ago, which is an absolute steal. And he is in pretty good condition. Legs a little loose but can still get him to stand. I had him as a kid and absolutely loved him. I ended up losing him but am so happy to get back as an adult.
If hasbro still has the mold they NEED to rerelease this figure. I know they don't really reuse toybiz stuff anymore but it'd be really cool cause this figure is basically impossible to get in good condition nowadays.

Fascinating Review!!!! I bought this figure when it came out, in 2004?!?! and I still have it standing tall on my shelf!!!! I don't have any of the accessories it came with. Since I was always a Huge Spider-Man fan, I have a lot of these Toy Biz figures!!! Can't wait to see what else you can review!!! What a great throwback review! This is my favourite spider-man figure ever. I believe this is in fact the figure that came in a two pack with Abomination - and doesn't have the exact same head-sculpt as the single-cart figure. The easiest way I have found to tell them apart is that the wall-crawling Mcfarlane spidey is missing a WEB line above his right eye Lens - and the web lines in general are sculpted a bit more subtle, ie not as thick as on this one. Also the head on this one is slightly slimmer I believe than on the single-cart one. It is very easy to see if you spot it. . Hasbro's version is an exact repaint of this one - as you can see they both have the web line above the right eye lens. Again awesome review man
I liked the finger movement back then. It was unlike anything we'd seen. But like Shart said "you can't make a fist. Making the interchangeable hands much better
You had already figured out how to tell if it’s McFarlane or not in a previous video, which was that McFarlane drew his Spider-Man with a little notch in the top front of his eyes. Great work with this review!
I gotta admit, the figure is a Marvel Legend gem because my first Marvel Legend was the pizza Spidey from 2015 and I kept him over the years while spending my own birthday money to buy him, Also, My friend got me the Dark Knight Returns DC McFarlane Toys Superman and even though I like the Action Comics 1000 Superman more, At least I have a DC Multiverse figure. I've watched the past review version of this figure from u shartimus a lot of times lol i really love this figure, and specially ur review of it regardless of the poor video quality back then, still a classic. For me it's the perfect representation of spidey, the body, eyes, and the overall design, it's just perfect.
I still have him with the snapshot spiderman and the sinister six spiderman. Think I got him 10 years ago for like $120 and had his eyes tweaked to be more accurate to Mcfarlane style with a brighter red, shadings, and webbing on him since the paint was fading away, he is to this day one of my favorite next to the Mafex Comic version.
What I find funny about this Spider-Man figure is that it claims to be based on the appearance that Todd McFarlane gave him in some Spider-Man Comics, but on the packaging of the figure there is an image of the Ultimate Spider-Man Comics who drew Mark Bagley XD

I always hated how people called this the "McFarlane Spider-Man." The only two figures I'd say were based on his art were the very first wave Spider-Man Classics figure, which actually came with a McFarlane comic included, and the Hasbro SDCC Raft box-set figure. Would love for Hasbro to make a new one that was a regular release and not a con-exclusive, he's by far my favorite Spidey artist.
@@MassHystarix the lenses were closer to Bagley, but the front logo was McFarlane. Oddly enough, the Battle Ravaged version of that figure had McFarlane lenses, but it’s hard to tell since they’re torn lol

It's because this is one of the best Spider-Man figures ever, so it's definitely going to hold its value for quite a while. When it comes to the sculpt and paint alone, nothing by Hasbro has ever come close. Nearly every super poseable Spidey (ToyBiz or Hasbro) holds their value because people want that specific figure, unless you're fine just having any Spidey figure.
I bought this for 50 myr/ 12 usd around 2006-07.still have this figure with the box, also with hasbro marvel legend blacksuit spider man baf red hulk.didnt know this figure will be very expensive,lucky to have both figures with standard price.happy hunting everyone.
This figure was also re-released in the fearsome foes pack as part of marvel legends line. It had a different headsculpt and a slightly different shade of blue and red. It also came with the fabric web attachments you're talking about. That's how I got mine back in the day. Great spiderman figure! Cool set! The exclusive lizard and rhino figures are still one of the better ones.
I have the black version of that figure. I played with it so much back then that it can no longer stand up properly. The hips and knees are now super loose.

The only reason I prefer the new has to one over him is cause of the art style. I love Ditko’s eyes. It would have been amazing if it had web moulding.
Along with the first appearance Spidey figure but mine isn’t as posable nor can it stand so that’s why the 2008 Spidey beats it. The spider logo on the front is a bit small would’ve wanted something like the round spider logo.

Toybiz Spidey was the best at the time, but Retro Spidey is tops right now. Throw that squinty head on, Hasbro Retro pulls way ahead of the Toybiz version..
Yeah, if you like a plain, generic body with bad proportions. It's no different from any other Hasbro figure. There's no way that can be better than a unique sculpt
The shape of the eyes is definitely slightly off for it to be a perfect McFarlane style Spider-Man, but it’s the only good one that exists. The marvel legends raft Spider-Man’s eyes are too curved on the top

This was the figure of my childhood. I still have it. This is the OG. My father bought me 2 of them and the 8 year old me painted one black.

For me this figure is both McFarlane and Campbell styled, McFarlane because of eyes and Campbell because of the spider emblem.
