I mean… the cards are IN the character intros. Pretty sure crispy wasn’t trying to be subtle. Real theory crafting is who the Wheel of Fortune is. Edit: Nevermind. That's definitely Yumi.
Highlights: Tarot cards. Amazing scene. So much foreshadowing. Ambience. Love the SFX, crispy nails the vibe Favorite scene. Probably Yumi x Alcaire. Trauma bonding should always be a DnD staple.
The campaign I'm mainly in has trauma.... only two seem to care or feel the pain. Mines got so bad I started drinking until the dm asked me to stop before someone gets stabbed(him). Now my character is so broken only a handful of people keep him calm and it isnt the other trauma filled party member. Save we wanna kick a gods butt for all they have done. Including making my character it seems.
So Mi... Yu Mi... I see you Crispy, I see you! Love her character already! And needless to say, but she reminds me of So Mi a lot (in a lot of ways... if you know, you know). Gonna tag along for the ride, if only to see her story to completion!
Yumi was a character I had in mind even before Cyberpunk, so when I played it I felt it was a coincidence of Destiny! I took a lot of inspiration going forward with her design and personality. I'm glad you enjoy her!
@@CrispysTavern Oh wow! With how uncanny these similarities are, it really must've been destiny!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a happy ending for our girl!
Omg this is absolutely amazing! Love the vibe, the characters, the story (you have no idea how giddy I got when I heard references to your previous campaigns, such as Crawford, Callia, Maseo, etc.) The Tarot scene was done amazingly, I loved the foreshadowing and insight into everyone's backstories. Overall, really well done, thank you for such an amazing first episode, can't wait for the rest!
I love this, you all have such great characters, the story and setting is great! (I love the mix of cyberpunk 2077 and dark fantasy here) and it’s just a great fun time to watch with your improvised comedy with each other also. Seriously I was laughing nonstop at the kitchen scene. And that little bit of crispy asking for a sleigh of hand check for lock picking instead of thieves tools proficiency. Played a bit too much BG3 eh there crispy XD.
For some reason Sakeus (idk how to spell it, its the lady who talked to them at the restaurant) death was super sad to me. 😢😢 she didnt deserve to go out like that.
just started watching and came from the general drama of crispy's tavern and watching a lot if live plays through the years, but i am enjoying this. a lot of these live plays really have a short life because of the way players play, but this feels really nice. glad i'm here for it, and wish you all the best
Hey, this is a crazy coincidence! Or maybe not, but it kinda feels like one. A couple months back, I made a character for fun who’s a Warlock themed around The Moon tarot card! I really hope I get the chance to play her someday, once I’m well enough to do DND.
Really nice session! Only small suggestion would be for the DM to move the webcam to in front of the face instead of the weird side angle. Seems like they are talking to someone else 😅
Cut content :( The escape from the ruins was supposed to be an extended scene. They would have fought some scavengers and an undead version of Seyka. These are extremely low level mobs, so the HP reduction was necessary to make the combat tense and to demonstrate the dire nature of the situation (and the fact that the party are dying). However, due to runtime I had to remove that. Also, the roll does mean something, it halves damage. Just like most spells.
I get that but instead of irrelevant dice rolls that have little context to us a simple hand wave would have made it a better from a viewer stand point, talking to the players and explaining the situation would have been a much more enjoyable experience because to us it just looks like a DM usurping power and railroading the players into a specific situation.
Yeah fair. I needed Yumi to know a bit about them to start since this is a short campaign. It... A. Makes sense for her character, she's a super paranoid spy B. Helps with relationship building C. Needs to be quick since this was planned to be a shorter campaign As for the rest, they're talking to a bunch of spys, politicos, and powerful mobsters. These people know things. Also, on a meta level it helps with exposition.
I love the storytelling and the time dedicated to the craft, but the constant interrupting and hurriedness (rushing) as well as the constant denial of looking into anything in their surroundings from the DM as the characters are trying to roleplay/exist or ask questions got a bit tiring. It was super awkward to see their expressions as they were trying to be deeply involved with the scene but got cut off... It might just be me, but I feel if you're going to involve people in your story, you should allow them to express themselves as their character a little rather than rushing your story and jumping rapidly to another person so they feel overlooked. Again, I love this series so far, but I hope this is just the nerves of the DM trying to sort themselves out of awkwardness or excitement rather than a permanent issue.
"Meg, the maneater, but I assure you, her appetite is diverse."
Good, I'm glad, I wouldn't want her to discriminate.
Alcaire has big Belmont energy, I love it
Pigeon: I'm the Muscle.
Group: You sure are, buddy.
Love this group! Looking forward to more
If they don't all have friendship bracelets by the end of campaign I will be most sad. 54:15 (edited for the timestamp)
I will probably cry if they don’t have friendship bracelets at the end lol
So here’s my theory… Alcaire is the Hangedman, Clio is the High Priestess, Pigeon is the Fool and Red is Strength. But that’s just my theory.
I mean… the cards are IN the character intros. Pretty sure crispy wasn’t trying to be subtle.

Lol that’s not what I expected Crowe’s Perch to look like, I didn’t think bro would have a lion’s mane like that! Fitting for the Corvid king🤙🏾

I dunno, at my games the DM looks at the party /jk

Breaking News: Local DM Killed By 1D4 Cabinet Damage!
It even hurt me

I’m so excited for this campaign! The setting is so interesting
Came here from Zacks channel, and darn glad I clicked the link. The game sounds great so far. Great DMing! Can't wait to see what happens.
This is the first actual play I've jumped on from the beginning! 🥰 So excited to watch you all. 💜
That was awesome! Great rollplaying, intriguing story, so many mysteries to ponder!

So good, cannot wait to see where this goes
I am 30 minutes in and I am already so obsessed with this campaign! The sound effects are so cool and you are all amazing in your roles!

This is soooo good!
28:00 I can’t be entirely sure, but I think I’ve heard those voices somewhere before…
Is that the Hiss from Control?
YESSSSSSSS!
@@CrispysTavern I knew it! Great choice for an Elterich psychic white noise, for obvious reasons. Second most unsettling thing in that game.
Spoiler:
So Im guessing from what Caroline's saying. Changelings in this world are created like Hommucolus?

Crispy said that he only set it up like that because his cord didn’t reach and a side profile was the best he could do with his camera.
please tell me Pigeon has some puppet themed bard subclass. if he does how do i get it

Why have them roll if it means nothing, a crit still leads to a 13 hp reduction wtf
