- Do you want to know what happens when you unplug your PS5 when you are not suppose to! Your PS5 will say "Don't unplug the AC Power cord when the power indicator on your ps5 is lit or blinking" if you unplug it during this process your PS5 will restart and repair your console storage. There is a chance some data will be lost or corrupted, but it shouldn't damage your PS5!

The other day my ps5 just froze and it wasn’t responding to anything and I was kinda forced to unplug it just to fix the issue, nothing bad happened just kinda weird that it happened
the reason it says not to do it and shows the warning is because there is a *chance* it can corrupt save data or the console itself. It's probably pretty unlikely, but there is no reason to risk it. Unless you have a situation like you are describing and you must hard shut it down. In that situation there is likely next to zero chance of any corruption happening anyway, because the code is stuck in some loop or some error not being handled properly, so it's likely not even accessing something that could be corrupted and therefor fine lol
TLDR something bad *can* (possibly) happen, so don't do it unless you have to.
@@vynneve yeah like Minecraft was just frozen, like it wasn’t making a crashing sound, just silence and my Minecraft world. THE ONLY THING IT DID DO was eject a disc but it wouldn’t take it back in, im still getting used to the buttons on the console

It happend to me to its frozen like 10 times but only froze when i had to unplug it half the time so 5 times i had to shut it off, i didnt unplug bc force shutting down is more safe but i have unplugged it around 3 times before tho so
@@vynneve are you sure also when it freezes that when you have to force shutdown or unplug it it won't cause any damage cuz I've had to do it 5 times and i had to force shut it down which is generally better at least ive heard but idk if i tripping but i feel like in games it lags ever so slighlty and fps drops sometimes happen like in fortnite and other games you think i paranoid or?
New respect to this man has been found for potentially killing his ps5. (Although he knew that nothing was going to happen)
My sister ask me if she can play my ps5 so I said yes, but stupid of me for not telling her how to turned it off. She pressed the power button but it switched to rest mode and unplug it. When I get back days later I'm turning it on and got concerned it took awhile turning on and that warning screen appeared. Damn I was furious at her 😂
my power shut off a few minutes ago when i was playing resident evil so my console shut off mid game lol but i’m gonna wait a bit to turn it back on since it’s still thunder storming
I was so worried because literally yesterday there was a power cut which was unscheduled and my PS5 just turned off like that, but if its just data, I don't mind restarting a game from scratch rather than having to buy a new PS5. I still have yet to see if its working though, that's how scared I am, I haven't touched it since yesterday.

@@randomcomedy9595 ooh yeah, its all good, it just continued like nothing happened after I turned it on, didn't even ask to repair anything. Everything is fine, thank heavens. I don't know if it has anything to do with how old the console is but I got mine in May this year, maybe the old ones have a hard time than the new ones I don't know, they are the same thing though. So there you have it. 😊
I’m freaking out with mine too. Did you experience any lagging in game or a quick flash of light during any loading screen in game? I have constant power outages in my area due to construction and my surge protectors don’t even keep my consoles on.
@@Kaiju-Klansman501st no, nothing of that sort yet, but I do have the regular angry noises now and then, and warnings to turn it off safely after a sudden load shedding cut off. Because as a South African, load shedding is a common occurrence. But it still works well with no problems at all. Maybe try logging out and then restart your PlayStation, and log back in. Just try, I don't know if it will work.

My mom moved the furniture around today while i was at work all day and i literally begged her to be careful with it, it was off... i got home turned it on.. it said that ot was unplugged while on and i had to rebuild database and repair my console, new internal ssd and external hard drive. Im starting to think she hates me tbh. Who does that man? Im pretty fuckin pissed dude

so uh we had a power shortage lightning stuck a power pole near me and I was turning ps5 into reset mode and my ps5 completely broke and now can't even turn on anymore so sadly I'll have to try to repair it, or I'll have to get a new one.

Just use the cloud for saved data and theres no risk of losing saved data.
I don't get it I never turn my PS5 off while in rest mode but I still get the "unplugged not properly messag" regularly

I just had that happen and fun fact the ram is were the cookies are so I have to unplug it to get rid of the bad ones but that also just messed up my ram
I had a two second power outage recently while playing Dead Space. I wasn't saving or anything. After I rebooted the PS5 and tried to play Dead Space I was met with an infinite black screen. It finally worked again after I reinstalled the game and repaired the storage/ save data again via safe mode.
Why does the ps5 do this but the Xbox doesn’t? It reminds me of the ps1 and ps2 issues with memory card files being randomly corrupted. PlayStation is so delicate.
Its caused by the ps5 taking wayy less power in rest or standby mode than xbox series x tho wouldn't really mind paying extra 1 cent each month than risking bricking my console and losing data but its truly up to you u can just not use the rest mode and be extra careful with it xbox dont mind if u cut off power anytime of the day even in standby mode. Pro and cons i guess

My ps5 was in rest mode & downloading games when someone accidently switched it off from the wall. I turned it back on. It did its thing and went onto the homescreen like it normally does. Is my ps5 100% fine?

I just need to know, do the games you own lag if the ps5 is turned off incorrectly, there was this instance where I was about to play resident evil on my psvr2 and all of a sudden, both my ps5 and psvr2 turned off on its own, and my ps5 said it was repairing itself, but I don’t know about my psvr2, it did say there was hardware damage or something like that, but does this affect the console or the games itself, because after the incident, the games and console seemed fine, but I did notice like the textures in the game, like a chair, looked blurry and it looked like it was moving or shaking a bit, or I noticed the sky in the game looked staticy and was having trouble rendering or something, I just want to know if everything is ok 😭😭

What kind of damage does it mean?
It means that your data could be damaged if you unplug your PS5 improperly.

I actually contacted my nearest Sony technician and he told me that ps5 will fix on its own by repairing the console storage and no harm will be done to it. But it's better to buy a UPS .
