Another great video Kathryn. I am envious of you still having your Mum. To be able to ask her a question to sort out something you can't quite remember the detail of is precious. Make the most of her and ask her all the questions you can think of now. I lost my Mum 20 years ago and wish I could ask her things often.
Thank you Sandra I am so sorry for the loss of your Mum. Mine will be 83 this year and she is still hale and hearty. I am lucky she only lives about half an hour away. ♥️
Sandeajames8600, I to lost my Mum 20-ish years ago and almost every day I think of something I wish I could get an answer from her.❤
You are so right about Marion’s World, such a uniquely amazing channel!! You and her are the most wonderful instructors
and great artists!! I follow you religiously!! 🥰
Thank you so much, I think Marion is amazing and a lovely person as well 😊♥️
Both of You Ladies are a treasure !! Thank you!!🌷❣️🌸🍀
Oh my goodness I had a similar experience when I was 4. In a big department store with my Mum, holding her hand. Then looking up and seeing that I was actually holding a mannequins hand! Scary for a 4 year old. I love your rose box so much. I may make a few with thick cardboard, to be solid scrap fabric boxes for various colours. Thank you.❤
Oh no, those mannequins are scary at the best of times 😱😂 ❤️
Hahaha, how funny that you were holding onto another “mum’s” coat! I remember seeing the back of someone in a store who I thought was my mum. I went up behind her and gave her a massive bear hug. Poor woman was totally shocked but she saw the funny side. My mother, who had found me and other woman by this time, was totally embarrassed. Full disclosure: I was well into my 20s when this happened. 🤣 Thank you as ever for a beautiful video. Love being part of this wonderful stitching community ❤
Oh that's funny, lucky the woman saw the funny side 😂❤️
That bee is so realistic! Tender and sweet! TFS K3N!
How beautiful!how pleasant! I’m SO grateful to you! You’ve made my life happier and more interesting!Thank you very very much!
My pleasure thank you so much ♥️
Ah, dear Kathryn, I’d say your Bee is on the “A” side, snort. Lovely box and bee. 🐝xo
😂 thank you 😊
Cute box and well done on your bee! I have learned so much from doing your weekly slow stitch projects. I love watching Marion's videos as well and I look forward to watching both of you each week. It's such a great community and I love that you and Marion support each other on here. ♥♥
Thank you, it's so wonderful this sense of community between creators and all the lovely people who support us. ❤️
I’ve made a few Japanese rice bags and I guess I will be sewing a few boxes now. Loved it 💕. Even at 72 I hang onto my husband’s jacket or jumper when we walk through crowds!!! Love your bee 🐝 ❤🇦🇺🦘Margaret
Thank you Margaret, I love that ❤️❤️❤️
Yes, I hang onto my husband at age 63! Luckily he doesn't mind 😀
❤ what a beautiful Pandora’s box, ❤ I can’t wait to make one. Your bee is delightful Kathryn. ❤
Thank you ☺️
TGIF has new meaning now because of you, Kathryn. It makes me happy all over, to know that you and Marion are compatriots (is that a word?) in a world of aiding and abetting beauty.
Thank you Ann, I consider Marion a stitching sister ❤️
These boxes can be made sturdier & washable by adding inside pockets to the 4 sides & putting cardboard in them. A 5th piece of cardboard becomes the bottom (added after the box is done), which can also be covered in a cloth sleeve if you really want it to be neat. Thx for a great tutorial, I'm learning a lot from you & am very grateful 😊
That's a good idea, thank you ♥️
Such a cutie 🥰! Besides bags and pouches, I love boxes too, all sorts, specially to put my stitching material in. And the roses 🌹 look soooooo beautiful 🌹🌹🌹🌹
Whenever you talk about your mother, I always think that if my mother were alive, she would love to see what I’m doing. Because I don’t have anyone to show my things to.
Today I’m finally on time and I won’t get punished 😂😂😂
🌹🤍🌹🤍🌹🤍🌹🤍🌹🤍🌹🤍🌹
We would all love to share your stitching with you! 🪡🧵☺
Yes! I agree with Michelle Alexandra, I love to look at your beautiful work on Instagram. I know it's not quite the same as sharing in person but it's wonderful all the same. ♥️
@@michellesocialbutterfly9517 Thank you so much, Michelle 🙏🏻 It feels a bit lonely when you don’t know anyone who likes any kind of art… 💙
@@k3n.clothtales Thank you, Kathryn 💙🌹🤗
Lovely for storing thread 😊
Guess what is in it right now? 😁♥️♥️♥️
British humor is contagious 😂
😁♥️
You are so delightful, Kathryn! Thank you for bringing all of us such lovely moments of JOY each week. I look forward to every episode you put out. 💗
Thank you so much 😊
your story about getting lost ..."and now she´s my mum" 😂😂 made me laugh. Really lovely rose now 🤩
Thank you 😁❤️
Thank you for another lovely video and idea. I was sitting on my tiny apartment patio, stitching a birthday gift bookmark for my dad while I watched ❤
How lovely happy birthday to your Dad ❤️
Lots of chuckles this morning. Thank you
My pleasure, good morning 😁❤️
Love your b-side 😅. You crabbed the wrong mum as a child but I talked and almost crabbed the wrong man as an adult 😂. Fortunately the wrong man could laugh about it. Tineke
Oh that's funny! 😂♥️
Oh my mum used to tell me to hang onto the hem of her jacket when she was pushing the pram or pushchair with my little sister Fran in it, when we lived in Hull. I have not seen anyone else do this or heard anyone mention it. Lovely to have this memory!
Maybe it's a Yorkshire thing 😁 lovely to think of you toddling along and Fran in a pushchair ❤️
Perfect for a tissue box holder
Yes, what a great idea ❤️
It is the best box that I have seen constructed...plus beautiful and unique. The bee was the perfect touch for the York Rose 🌹 ✨️ 🐝
Oh thank you Pam ♥️
Kia ora - hi Kathryn. I love the box, the beautiful bee and your sense of humour. 😊
Thank you 😁❤️
So funny about getting lost, I have a similar story about my daughter in Boots, she had a attachment to rubber pants (the ones we used to put on over Terry nappies) she was standing beside me then she was gone, I was frantically walking up and down the isles then spotted her in the rubber pants isle going through each packet and testing it to see if it felt nice against her nose. I will never forget that moment ❤
The rose box is beautiful, another to my ever growing list of k3n projects lol
Oh that made me laugh so much. 😂😂😂♥️
Iris paper folding is a paper craft technique that involves folding strips of colored paper in such a way to form a design. The center of the design forms an iris-a shape reminiscent of the iris diaphragm of a camera lens.
Thank you, love the bee : )
Gosh your weather yesterday was a lot like ours here in Texas. But it was drizzling most of the morning. I just had back surgery Monday, a laminectomy so I am glad I didn't miss the weather. Today looks the same outside. My husband is going to make us a big pot of broccoli cheese soup with french bread slices.tbe is a lovely idea. I can hardly wait to give it a go later this week or next. Recovery is 4-8 weeks.
Hello Darnice, I hope you are taking it easy and don't have too much pain. Sounds like hubby is taking good care of you ♥️
I made the eclipse piece to remember our visit to Burlington, Vermont to see it. Thank you for this special project.
My pleasure 😊
Just watched this Kathryn... I'm very behind I'm afraid... What a surprise to see the bee on your lovely fabric box! The rose is really lovely.. my grandparents were from Bedale in Yorkshire and Grandma always wore a white rose lapel pin.
I'm over the moon you liked the bee too. She looks lovely visiting your rose 💐☺️
Thank you Marion, I see you have posted your finished vessel and I can't wait to see it. Still at my friend's house in Wiltshire until Sunday so looking forward to watching when I get back to France. ❤️
Hi Kathryn, I have seen Marion’s bee video she is such a creative soul. I love your box, you did a great job with your bee. Loved the story of hanging onto your mum’s coat, my hubby got lost in Woolworths and the ladies put him up on the counter so his mum could find him, thankfully she did. Lol love Bella xx
Hello Bella, when I read your husband, I was imagining an adult so then had to chuckle about him being put up on the counter 😂❤️
Kathryn I love your sense of humour, you had me in stitches!!😂
Pardon the pun 😂😂😂♥️
Pretty lil box thank you for showing the process ❤❤❤
Thank you 😊
Well what a lovely video that was today 😊I still haven’t done my rose from last week, or Marion’s bee. But after seeing your Bee Box I’m going to have a go. I love the colours of the box and I like to make things that are useful too. Your bee looks just as good as Marion’s ! I’ve never tried stump work either so that’s another new experience. Thank you for today ❤😊xx
My pleasure I am so pleased you liked it. Have fun making your own Bee Box 😊 it was lovely to use Marion's idea in my own project, seemed like the perfect match ♥️
Your Bee came out wonderful! ❤ I love Marion and have been watching her for quite awhile. lovely box. I really like the outer edge of lace you used on your roses to give them some dimension and to not just have them flat with the background.❤
Thank you ♥️
Maybe manilla folder cardboard, it’s thin, but sturdy and only slightly flexible.
Yes, that would be perfect ♥️
Love that box and the hand roses. Thanks.
Oh my goodness. I laughed about the coat tail. I can see you doing this. The Bee is glorious and matches perfectly. What a Bonnie Bee. I will have to go and see Marion tutorial. I just have not looked at it yet. You have me looking at Gone Rustic. I was totally absorbed in the colors of her fabrics and the pieces she has dyed. Her art is fantastic too. Now I am trying to follow so many people. LOL. And I love every bit of it. Thank you. I am in the middle of doing a rice bag, but now I wonder if it should be a box instead! Too many decisions. Thank you, it would be seriously boring without all this happy stitching going on.
You're so right, love this TH-cam community ♥️
Thank you for this tutorial K3n! It's a lovely box! ❤
You’re welcome 😊
20 degrees Celsius is 68 degrees Fahrenheit, which means allergy season is in full swing. The roses are beautiful. I love how you framed them for the box, quite extraordinary. Your bee is so realistic looking, wonderful.
Thank you, yes I think it is exactly that. With the lovely Spring flowers comes the pollen. ❤️
How beautiful 😍
How lovely this box looks and your little stump work bee has come out so sweet. How about using your extra “square” to add a lid to your box
That's a good idea thank you Jean ❤️
It looks exactly like a rose. Thank you for sharing your talent and flair with us.❤ I have be honest I could see the rose last week ❤ Oh I love the 🐝 🐝🐝bee... it looks like he could take flight🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝💮 I can Thank you for introducing me to "Marion's World " ....she is a real treasure...magical like you😊
Thank you Pam, I am quite proud of my bee and I never would have thought of it without Marion's inspiration ♥️
Hi Kathryn, thanks for the lovely videos you make, have enjoyed all of them. You keep me company as I cross stitch.
I am living in The Netherlands now but grew up in Southampton and West Yorkshire, Bingley to be precise. I think you mentioned Shipley and Baildon in one of your other videos. Maybe our paths crossed !!
Very possibly, my mother's family are from Idle area, when it was still separate from Bradford. I grew up in the New Forest, near Blackfield, a couple of miles from Exbury. Did a lot of sailing in Southampton Water and the Solent. How funny, small world 😁❤️
Me encanta!!! Muchas gracias, Kathryn!
Hiya K3n😊,have just finished my "B"box, but have done 🦋 instead; l put her on a 5th square(as had temporarily lost my 4th square- had hidden itself down the side of the armchair!) and have sewn it on along one side(won't escape me again!😊) as a lid! So nice to have you chatting along as l made the most of my "spare square"! Cheers to you and all here 😀, Julia. J.I.M.K Mrs. Brisbane, Australia 🇦🇺 ❤ 😀 🪃 xx
How lovely to make a lid with your errant side Julia, I am also always losing things down the side of the sofa 😂❤️
What a great idea putting a lid on it!
Lovely! Thanks for another delightful video, I'm going to try Marion's bee. She's an incredibly talented stitcher.
Thank you, yes she is ♥️
When I lived in the USA a good way of trying to figure out temperatures was 0C is 32F, 16C is 61F, 28C is 82F, 37C is 100F (well, it's about 98F and it's hot either way...or a usual summer day in Australia...😂)
We regularly get 37degs C here in August these days. 🙄 Thank you for the handy tip. 😊❤️
@@k3n.clothtales Not fun. We have also had mid 30’s in August (winter 😬)
Today seen Dubai in flood a very strange world these days. Xx
@@mandyhernon2238 I didn’t feel like a thumbs up or down would be good for this post but yes, that would indeed be strange. Two weeks ago we had major floods again where I live in southern Sydney. Super crazy weather!!
I live in the US and watch mostly UK gardening and stitching/knitting, etc shows. I roughly know how to convert to Fahrenheit, but this is a great tip. You just never know where you will learn useful things.
It reminds me of a fried egg. Maybe I'm hungry.
😂 I do know what you mean, maybe white and yellow was a silly choice.. 😉 still, the bee seems to like it 😁♥️
You crack me up...'the B side'. LOL Love the box and for sure your Bee. I have seen Marion's wonderful tut on the stump Bee, it's great.
😁♥️
Wonderful tutorial and stories, thank you so much ♥️
Thank you ♥️
What a lovely box and bee!😍 I had not even heard of Iris Paper folding but i will surely get myself acquainted with it now💖🍀😀
Thank you Machteld 😁❤️

@@lisbethdegn-dragenkunst hi Lisbeth! Have you tried it? 💖🍀
@@dailydoseofpaperSorry no
@@lisbethdegn-dragenkunst thank you Lisbeth, I wasn't sure if it was named for the flower or the lens. 😊♥️
Pretty. Love the bee too !!
Thank you ♥️
Thank you 😊
💤 🐝💤🐝🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️ thank you🥰
Ok Kathryn I wasn’t going to do this rose block but you got me interested and also I need to make the beee too❤
😁 have fun 😊
Love your box and the bee! Oh my so many things that I want to make! I feel so behind. Is it bad to want to do some of the basic parts on the machine then do some slow stitching on it?
Thank you Cathy no it's not at all bad, you do you. 😁 I sometimes do certain things on the machine.. ♥️
@@k3n.clothtales Thank you!
Love love love ❤
❤
My husband wanted to know why you were making an egg on toast. He's so funny.
😂 it does look like an egg 😁❤️
Lovely rose, but it looked like a poached egg before you added the lace 😂.
I know, poached or fried, one of the two 😂
You get so much done. How many hours a day fo you stitch?
It depends but nearly always at least the evening, though sometimes I knit. I only really stitch during the day if I am making a video, otherwise I am mostly outside. 😁😁
Iris paper folding….Iris as in the lens shutter of a camera….very old craft also applied into textile…
Thank you , I wasn't sure. ❤️
5+
Sorry, can't help myself - your one-legged bee was a wonky bee . . . . !
You made me snort my coffee... 😂😂😂❤️
