Very clean run VMJ, good job. it's nice to see a simple track with no use of advanced tech sometimes. The great "ground" controls remain the core of the game imo, even if I love DTDs .
Night Thunder gets slightly more speed out of drifting and also has slightly more grip when driving normally which really helps for the chicane before the start of the corkscrew because it's easy to lose grip there on laps 2 and 3. But NT also accelerates slightly slower than Blood Hawk at -7 settings, NT turns/pivots at a slightly slower rate (this does make it easier to handle for some people so this can also be considered a subjective upside, but it's still a downside purely from a performance perspective), it doesn't turn quite as sharp while cornering with side attacks, and it has worse floating/AGG (this isn't relevant on Devil's Forest 1 ofc). It's mainly the aerial stuff that makes NT undesirable, but on flat tracks like DF1, NT might(?) be faster in theory. At the very least, it's a bit easier to use because of the extra grip so it's still a solid pick even if NT turns out to be a tiny bit slower than BH overall.
I'm only just getting the hang of DTD's but weirdly I find the night thunder to be easier and I get more consistent dives with it because of the slow pivot and lower dive angle. Also when trying to take of like at the beginning of Fire Field and Space plant it's still easier for me in the night thunder despite the weight, so I don't think it matters much for the average player. Also on a lot of custom maps you can more easily reach 3000 kmh or close in the night thunder on dives so maybe it becomes even more of a player preference choice?..

I am of the same opinion. X is just such a mechanically beautiful game.
Damn I love this game! Great stuff WMJ!
Very good

What advantage does Night Thunder have over Blood Hawk?
I think he explains it in his tutorial series video on the track.
It's negligible.
