It is so easy to soak whole buckwheat and make your own buckwheat “bread”- much cheaper than the one at Whole Foods. You soak the kernels 4-8 hrs, and then they are blended with water and yeast in the Vitamix before baking. To can vary it by putting in a date or some pumpkin seeds… it’s dense and yummy.

I think the Entire model of patien- doctor must change. Plant- based eating instruction for better health is a perfect opportunity to take the patriarchy OUT of medicine and healthcare.
Patients should be allies- of a transparent healthcare system- NOT commodities. Patients need to Take back their Power in Healthcare as we move forward…. By organizing their Own plant-based groups within the healthcare team. We should be Part of the healthcare team.. not the commodity from which money is made and secret chart notes are written about us.
I believe the entire healthcare model must give up its hierarchy and profits to Include patients as partners.

Thanks for asking Dr. Klaper my question about his recent experience with EPA/DHA supplementation and omega-3 index.
Here is some related research: Omega‐3 fatty acids are associated with blood-brain barrier integrity in a healthy aging population (Brain and Behavior, August 2021)
excerpt: In conclusion, we found significant correlations between long chain omega‐3 levels and BBB (blood-brain barrier) integrity and cognition, providing evidence of a possible mechanism by which omega‐3 may contribute to brain health.
My Commentary: A compromised blood brain barrier makes the brain more susceptible to toxins which could lead to problems such as Parkinson's disease. Good luck!!

Yeah, but, people are excessively eating fish concentrated oils out of overblown fears which ironically enough increase their toxin concentrations, while destroying the ocean and estuary wildlife. 😢
Meanwhile, those fish got their omega3’s FROM PLANTS just like hominids did and do. 😮

One other thing to mention about dairy to the teenager. If the teenager suffers from acne, giving up dairy may reduce or eliminate it. Check out the book by Nina and Randa Nelson. Many people don't realize that the hormones in dairy can trigger acne for many people.

Your suggestion on how to approach doctors to get the support we need is helpful.
Since we don’t live in an egalitarian society in the US, and because Most doctors are part is large hospital networks, patients truly are No Match if they upset a doctor in anyway.
Until, and unless patients organize into Patient Rights Advocacy groups with strong lobbyists power.. we must always act submissively- I’ve noticed especially women get dismissed and blackballed very easily. So Sad!!

I know ppl that occasionally drink non alcoholic wine. I don't usually drink wine I usually used to drink a beer now and then so I bought some good non alcoholic beer. It's really low calorie and tastes almost exactly like beer.

Why don’t doctors and/ or oncologists Examine their patients, especially before and after treatments for severe diseases or anytime? I don’t feel looking at scans, biopsies and blood labs surpasses a good physical exam!!! Currently in our healthcare system lab results, biopsies, scan results Replace a physical examination and quality of life questions. It’s Wrong!

I would NOT want a regular non-plant-based dr telling patients what to eat - thank goodness most don't until they too accept this is the best way and study it . Otherwise they continue to lead patients wrongly . Agree to you all !!!!

Dr. Klapper- Yes- doctors are human beings- but you are telling patients to take a submissive position to doctors.. while many patients are left with no help to suffer for years with no help from our healthcare system. 🤷‍♀️

I thought his information about questions to ask your doctor was encouraging people to take control! Perspective is key and I find it interesting that we both heard the same information and have understood it in such a disparate way.😊

Patients have NO power in our current healthcare system!! The internet is riddled with painfully disabled people who were hurt BY our healthcare system and some doctors and surgeons who repeatedly Injure, Disable and Harm patients with no consequences at all.
YES! I’m All for a Plant-based revolution…. but I think being a submissive patient is Not the Only way. More Immediate pressure is needed. Patient Rights Rallies in front of hospitals and more.
We don’t have time to allow this current system to Kill and Maim anymore patients!
I’ve known several female patients- (one, a smart nurse) who killed themselves after Years of struggling to get help for severe iatrogenic Harm that All doctors and Medical Boards Refused to address.
They were extremely Smart, talented, professional women who felt betrayed by their surgeons, doctors and the broken defensive system that simply dismissed them! So Sad!!

@@vikkibendle1341I think I was triggered by his 1st example of only asking 3 questions to a specialist like Oncologist or Cardiologist. Doctors are Choosing to work in a dysfunctional, rushed, fee for service healthcare model. And patients should Not have to submit to being rushed or intimidated by a system that really doesn’t care if they live or die…. But primarily cares Only about Billing codes, profit, and deny and defend medicine.
Harm caused by our healthcare system Is the Leading cause of Death and disability to patients- higher than heart disease and cancer.

@@vikkibendle1341Thanks! Yes, it’s sad, and can really harm patients. Impoverished patients in US don’t often have the privilege or access to change their doctor, even if that doctor behaves badly.
Consults with plant based doctors Costs money!! Almost always not covered by insurance. 🥲
