Thanks for always being REAL becky. You being raw and showing emotion about gizmo broke my heart. Glad that you are surrounded by people who appreciate and love you right back and show up! especially on bad days! Another fabulous video!
Pro tip: When shredding softer cheeses, put them in the freezer for just 30 minutes, and they'll be SO much easier to grate. Definitely going to try your caramelized onion dip this Thanksgiving! :)
Came here to say this! When shredding cheese & thinly slicing meats, they always go into the freezer for a bit first. I will literally push back a mealtime by 20 minutes if I forget to do this 🤣
My passion has always been cooking and baking. Unfortunately my adult daughter has absolutely no desire to learn or have any of my recipes. It absolutely breaks my heart. I love that you and your mom cook together. I have always dreamed of that day, but I have given up on that. Cooking and baking throughout the years has been my therapy. Love to watch your videos and see how passionate you are. ❤
Hi. I am nosey and read your comment. I just wanted to suggest that you tell your daughter how enlightening it would be to have you two cooking together. My Mom, never wanted to interfere with my adult married life. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer's, I learned from my uncle that she wanted me to share her gardening with her. She had food, flower and spice gardens every year. She must have relayed to my uncle her desire to get me interested in what she did and to be honest, I don't know where I would have found the time with raising two small boys, a full time career and a side hustle to make ends meet. But if she had just said to me.. I would love to have you come hang out and lets garden together, I would have bent over backwards to make that happen. Just a thought. It haunts me now that she wanted something so simple that I could have given her, if I had only known. Sometimes, the phase of life depicts thought patterns. As I age I tend to think of others' before myself. I don't think I was ever selfish but maybe a bit overwhelmed with life. Holidays are a good time to cook together! Try it!
Same for me and my adult daughter. However, my adult grandson loves to cook. We cook together regularly and we enjoy it so much. The extent of my daughters cooking is limited. I find that odd since I have always had a passion for cooking/baking all her life.. My daughter uses only salt, pepper and garlic powder on everything she makes..everything tastes so similar and bland but I never complain (her son does lol).
Collect your recipes in a book , nothing fancy, and give it to your daughter. I am 75 now and would love to have had both my grandmothers’ and mother’s recipes. People change. Keep the traditions alive even if someone finds your book in a thrift store someday and is overjoyed 🦋
@@cathyphegley7848 I have started that yes. It’s a wonderful idea. My mother made a homemade recipe book from both sets of grandmothers in 1990 and I cherish it.
Exactly. You make us feel like coffee-sharing neighbors. You're my daughter's age, and you're as sweet as she is, so I have a big soft spot in my heart for you...on top of the mad respect for all you do.
The part about your friend made me tear up…. Always so good to be surrounded by sweet souls. Hope you find a good fit for your dogs medication. So hard to see our pets struggle. They really are part of the family!!
Bless your heart hun. I know what your going through. Been there with several animals and it's heart breaking watching your baby suffer. I had a precious baby, Harley was his name. I loved him dearly ❤️ he also had seizures. I had him on meds to. One night I put him to bed, covered him up with his favorite blanket, kissed him and told him Mommy loves him and said a prayer. Got up the next morning and went over to him and he hadn't moved. He had gone to be with Jesus. Crying as I share this. I will always long to see my Precious Harley in Heaven. Thank God that I have Hope of knowing 🙏 that. My Prayers are with you🥰🐕❤️ Liked~Shared~Saved~ Subscribed

Becky, we love you so much! When you are sad & hurting for your dog we all understand & we feel for you. Yes, we are here to watch you bake, cook & everything else you are so talented in doing, but know you are loved by us & you are greatly loved by God, dear friend!!❤❤❤
Your last video had me really inspired for my friends giving and I ended up making a whole 15lb turkey, a bunch of sides and I made an apple pie from scratch and I've never been so proud of myself. As someone who suffers from mental illness your chanel has given me a lot of inspiration to get back in the kitchen and have fun. It really has been helpful ❤️
I love preparing all these recipes from TH-cam. It makes me feel so proud too when my family or other friends let me know it was delicious. I also try to do some DIYs and it makes me feel very crafty although I just follow the videos. lol😅
Hello Becky, after years of cooking nearly 65 years now, I discovered that to shred cheese, stick the chunk in the freezer for a little bit. Makes it so much easier to shred. Thanks for all you do! Your the energizer bunny!
I like to caramelise a load of onions at once in my crockpot. I then dehydrate them. They are sooooo good. You can use them in so many things, either straight up or hydrate first. Another thing is you can powder the dried onions, and adding this to soups or stews is oh-my-goodness
girl I am here for YOU not just the food, vent when you need to. I'm going through it as well and sometimes its nice to just share a vulnerable moment with people. I'm sorry to hear about your dog and I really do hope they feel better soon :(
Could you please do a video on must haves for large batch cooking? Like the size bowls you have, the size roaster you use etc… next year will be my first big preserving year and I’m buying jars and lids and I realize I don’t have a large bowl! Now I don’t know what I don’t know I need!
Becky, we're not just here for the cooking. If you were sitting on the couch with your feet up, sipping a cup of cocoa and chatting to the camera, we'd still be here. I hope Gizmo is doing well and Thanksgiving is full of love and joy for you.
I’m sorry Gizmo isn’t doing well. It breaks our hearts when they suffer. Sorry Becky. Great hubby and friends. You work so hard for everyone. Enjoy your Friendsgiving ❤️🤗
Girl, we are here for everything! We are human and your normalcy gives me hope in getting anywhere in a natural way of life and getting my family on a healthier path. ❤ prayers for your fur baby!
I just discovered this channel today and it's my new favorite. The instructions are clear, as are the explanations for alterations to recipes. The friendly delivery of this information makes me want to come back for more. Thanks for this excellent video and so many others you've so generously shared in your warm, friendly style.
Darling I watched again because you are so sweet. I hope everyone knows how hard you worked for them. Everything sounds very scrumptious. Blessings to you sweetheart.
I learned from my mom to plate greasy appetizers, like the bacon wrapped dates, on a bed of shredded lettuce (well dried of course). Not only absorbs the oil, but looks more colorful too. Hope your pup is feeling better. Bless.
This may sound dumb, but among your many positive qualities is the fact that you put your hair up when you’re cooking! I can’t believe how many of these TV chefs have their hair flying everywhere. Yuck!
I always put my hair up, and hair still ends up in the food sometimes (yuck) but how do people who wear their hair down not have so much hair in the food.
Bake the bacon wrapped dates on a cooling rack placed on a cookie sheet. The bacon grease will drip down onto cookie sheet. For lazy cleanup line the cookie sheet w/ parchment or foil and pop the cooling rack in the dishwasher. Sooo easy
I'm binge-watching your 2021 videos.... A great way to pack things for travel, I use my laundry baskets! I have both square and rectangles, put a towel in the bottom for hot things and plenty of room to stack everything else. Works great for slow-cookers & dutch ovens too.
Actually, we’re here for it all; the good, the bad, and the emotional. I hope your precious little dog gets his seizures under control. 🤗💞 I hope the family Thanksgiving was wonderful! 🦃
I made the cranberry salsa and let me tell any of you reading the comment section this recipe was FABULOUS!! This is definitely going in our family favorite recipes!!
So sorry to hear about your pup hun! ☹💛🐶 hope he gets better soon! Like everyone previouslymentioned, we are all here to support you as a whole not just the cooking and stuff but that's always a bonus. We Love you Becky 💛
I’m not looking through the comments to see if this may be posted already. Sorry if it’s a repeat. I learned online recently that instead of washing a blender like I have for so many years-take it to the sink and wash by hand. Instead-keep it on the base and put a bit of dish washing liquid in it and water. Then turn your food processor on and it will do the cleaning for you! I hope it works in the food processor as well as the blender. Much simpler, I love your videos And you have a way of making your viewers feel we are right there hanging out with you. Thanks so much for all the information and tips you add to your recipe videos!! Awesome.
It's SO HARD when our furry friends are having trouble! My heart goes out to both of you. May you get everything adjusted soon so he's comfy. Keep us posted so we don't get weepy when we think of him! ;) ...oh yeah, and the appetizers look great, too! Definitely gonna snag a few of those ideas.
We are here for cooking… we are here for growing… we’re here for day in the life and we’re here for emotions. I’m sure it’s safe to say most of us are here for all of the good and bad, as much as you wanna share. It’s no worries for any of the bad/tough/emotional days that may plague you. It’s real life and we all go through those times. ❤️
So happy to come across your channel today and discover Cranberry Salsa recipe! So festive!! Everyone loves salsa and this one will be an extra special treat for our Christmas get-together! Tip: For creamy onion dip, add a good pinch of sugar and salt about midway when caramelizing onions. The combo helps the onions to brown up nicely. My recipe for onion dip also includes adding golden raisins, cardamon, cumin and ginger.
Omg I made the caramelised onion dip and the bacon wrapped dates (I added the goat cheese) for Christmas!!!! Huge hit with the family ❤️ that dip was worth the almost 2hrs to make. Absolutely delicious 😋 thank you
Bless your heart, Becky! You are so sweet, and I'm praying for your pup. It's so hard when our fur babies aren't doing well, and I hope his medication get sorted soon! And we are definitely here for you, not just your cooking, so please share away and never feel bad for being real... it's one of your traits that I really love. The appetizers look amazing too, and I will be trying all of them, for sure! Have a great Friendsgiving and Thanksgiving!
Other than the spinach artichoke dip, I hadn’t heard of the others. And they sound A-MAZ-ING!!! I love appetizers and will definitely be making those 3 over the holidays. I adore your channel!
Yes, we are here for the food/cooking but we are also here because we care. My fur babies are my everything and i completely understand how hard it is when they are ill. I love how raw and real you are with us Becky and i thank you for that! Gizmo, get well soon so tour mommy can breathe!
What an amazing video Becky! I think I will watch it again. So so sorry that your dog is going through that. Thank you for sharing really good appetizer recipes. I think I will try them all. So glad your husband cleaned the house...you guys make a great team. I love seeing your Mom from time to time. Happy joyful peaceful holidays to you and your family. You are so deserving!!
Appreciate you showing the knife skills. It’s easy to forget the correct way to hold it when no one is around to correct you when you start slipping back into old habits. ❤
Great job Becky! My favorite way to have the bacon wrapped dates is to add an almond to the middle. The added crunch and resistance is fabulous. Delicious!
My favorite way is with a Marcona almond stuff in there, too! Instead of maple syrup I use honey and then a balsamic glaze drizzled on top! I actually first had them that way in Hood River, which isn't too far from where Becky lives. So Good!
Were they dates, or figs? I suppose either would work, but folks are calling them both names. Everything looks so yummy, going to have to break down and caramelize some onions! Is the cranberry salsa meant to be served with tortilla chips? You may have said, but I missed it, if so.
Oh hun, I'm so sorry about your Dog Gizmo, I hope you guys are able to adapt his medication and he starts doing better. My pets are my family and when one of them is ill, I get so anxious and I want to make them better, so I know what you are feeling. I hope you were able to have a great time with your friends. You deserve it you work really hard all the time. That was so sweet of your husband and your friend to do those things that might seem little but they mean the world especially if you are having a rough day. Take care of yourself Becky, and be safe. Sending much love to you. ❤❤❤
Oh,Becky, my heart hurts for you. Having gone through the same thing with my baby dog many years ago, I know how scary it can be .As a retired nurse who worked with neuro (including seizure) patients, I will tell you, as your Vet probably has, that it can take a while to find the right medication and then the proper dose. Also, my dog could tell when she was about to have a seizure and learned to get to a safe place (onto the floor and next to Mama if I was at home). Prayers that all goes well.
We are not here for the food..we are here because you are an inspiration and above all you are human..Having said that I am really sorry for your dog!I hope soon he will feel better!Give him all our love and thoughts!😍
These all look amazing! I want to try them all. I had some bacon wrapped, manchego stuffed dates before and they were so delicious I know your date recipe will be as well! Also, Becky thanks for all your hard work & dedication. I definitely notice all your passion shining through in every video! I hope your dog gets better & great friends are such a blessing 🙌
I can see and feel your Anxiety I know how it is a have a sick dog so I'm going to pray for you & your fur baby. I wanna take the time to thank you for sharing your life with us You've been a very big inspiration for me Blessings.
I'm here for it all. Hugs to you, it's so hard when our fur babies are sick. My oldest fur baby will be 10 in January and I am losing her to cancer so I get it. Thanks for sharing the recipes, I will be trying them all. Praying the meds get adjusted soon.
Oh gosh I’m so sorry to hear about your precious puppy! I too had a dog who had seizures and it is emotional and hard so I hope he is doing much better now! As lame as this sounds I feel like you are one of my friends and can’t wait to “hang out” when you post a video! I hope you are your family have a wonderful thanksgiving as well 😊
I’m so glad that I found your channel. I love that you have your hair up, that you are real, that your kitchen looked like someone was actually cooking in it. Bravo - you have a new fan.
Hi Becky! I am going to try all of these this holiday season. I can’t wait! I’ve always enjoyed cooking, but you have inspired me to make more homemade foods. Thank you for your awesome videos.
We are here because we enjoy listening to you Becky. It’s like a big extended family. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I am so sorry your sweet pup is having issues and pray they get the meds correct quickly.
Hope you had a wonderful time, thank you for having us in your home. Everything looks amazing!! I hope you can get things figured out with little Gizmo soon.
Try making bacon wrapped water chestnuts. Slice chestnuts thin/ 1/2 slice bacon. Bake at 325/350 till bacon is crispy. Using tooth pics to hold together. VERY YUMMY. Please try.
Just an FYI: Please always check your cranberries before blitzing them because I have had several go bad in a bag before processing. No one wants that in their foods. Great appetizer and video!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU! For your channel! You make cooking tor holiday's so much better! 🥰 The planning, prep work taking on multiple items to make. ✅ You show us all things are possible and does not have to be perfect. That is relief! 😊 You are a previous Jewel! By the way the Cranberry Salsa was a hit in our home! 💃
I'm sorry you're having to go through your dog's health problems. I lost my beautiful 18 year old kitty 4 days ago and the ordeal and aftermath are taxing to say the least. Watching your videos make me laugh and definitely hungry. I hope you and your family have wonderful, happy holidays. Thank you for everything you do!
Thanks Becky! I’m just loving your content for the holidays. You’re really working hard to give us this content and it’s much appreciated. Oh, I hope we’ll get lots of coverage of the prep day at your mom’s house. I’ll be making a holiday playlist of your video. I hope your dog gets better very soon.
I find myself checking TH-cam every day and looking for your videos. 👀 Always so excited to see what you have to share! 🎉 These look great. 🤤 Thank you for the links! ♥️
I just found your channel, I love every one of these recipes. I've made the stuffed dates, I use cream cheese in my dates because I also dislike goat cheese. I've subscribed and am very happy your channel was on my feeds.
Becky you are amazing!! Great video love your camera work! I can finally see what someone is doing. It's just so much better for instructional purposes. AND you never fail to show close ups when needed. I'm starving for these now.
Becky, everything looks and sounds delicious. Your contributions to the Friends-giving event will be a hit. Also, I can hardly wait to try the garlic peeling trick.
If you freeze your cheese and grate it frozen it shreds nice. I used to run a pizza place and that's what we would do to prevent our machines from gumming up!
Great recipes 👍 not sure if you've done it but I watch the queen's cabinet and she canned up crockpot caramelized onions....I tried it....game changer !:) Happy Thanksgiving:)
I’m so sorry about Gizmo! I hope he feels better soon! The fact that you’re husband cleaned up and you’re friend was blowing your yard is very nice. I’m sure you had a wonderful time with all your friends! The appetizers looked delicious! And honestly we are here for everything not just the cooking! It just means you’re human like us. I did watch the video from she’s in her apron where she showed the picture of you two and said you guys got to hang out a little! How fun!
All the apps look delicious! Thanks for sharing! I’m so sorry you had an emotional day, praying for your pupper. You made me tear up because I could feel your pain. Our pets are our babes so it hurts when they are sick. Stay strong ma’am you got this!
I saw on Instagram that Gizmo has been feeling better; I hope the trend continues! It's so scary when our pups are having health issues. Just wanted to let you know that I have one sad cherry tomato and I don't do freezer meals because I'm planning to move soon, but I've watched all of your videos simply because I enjoy them/you! You seem like a very genuine, kind person and I'm endlessly impressed with how you can do! Every recipe of yours that I've tried, I've really enjoyed!
Hi. I love spinach artichoke dip going to have to make it. I have a little secret for you on whipping cream cheese, I’ve worked for years in bagel stores in New York and we always add seltzer water to are cream cheese when whipping it. Hope your dog gets better. Love and prayers always have a blessed day ❤️❤️🙏🙏
Love that I'm not the only one that gets emotional about my fur babies. I lost my little beagle Aphrodite right before the holidays. It was harder than I thought it would be. God Bless, and I love your channel. ❤️🙏❤️
Heyyy Becky Happy Thanksgiving Eve! I ran to the store today for cilantro for your cranberry salsa recipe and forgot the jalepenos...soooo I used pickled jalepenos I had made a while ago and it worked fantastic! Your recipe is delicious
That spinach artichoke dip is amazing. You can also buy a round loaf of rye bread like dark rye, hollow it out, fill it with the dip but before you fill it, add green food coloring and then chop up the bread that you pulled out of it to put around the edge for dipping, you can even toast it call it. Slimy goop in brains and serve it Halloween even children will love it.
Heyyyyyyyy love ❤ We are here for it ALL! Listen, we are ALL feeling the harshness and cruelty in the world right now. After "C", it's like we're all walking around with some form of PTSD on steroids. 🙌 However, as you said, "WE STILL HAVE SO MUCH TO BE THANKFUL FOR!" That said...We all have bad days and your heart and spirit is just beautiful 😍... Sending light and love for your dog, with extra shout outs, light and love to your husband for helping out (the dream is working) and to your friend for also making your day lighter and brighter. Blessings all around. Hope you enjoyed your Friends "giving" and I pray they appreciated your "Service that is ALWAYS in Season!" 🥰🤗
With the dates and bacon when they are nearly done I take them out coat them with teriyaki sauce and then finish cooking, they are lovely, all your food looks wonderful, hope your doggie is better soon ❤️
Sorry to hear about your dog I hope that he gets well it’s nothing like losing a pet a member of your family so this is why I hope that the both of your dogs are doing well healthwise they have a good mommy and a good daddy. You almost made me cry when I see you swell up with tears yes it is an emotional time.
you know Becky one of the things that I admire from you is your strength and courage to smile especially going through a tough time with your beautiful babies! thank you so much for that! and one of things that I appricate is your specialty hand with the spices because I swear every recipe I have tried always felt lacking and always felt like maybe I'm adding to much but since switching to your recipes I swear it's just perfect! again love your beautiful spirit and and I think I have rewatches your videos so many times for just inspiration to cook! thank you and give you sweet pup babies a big hug and belly rub for me!
I’m thankful for you, Becky. I enjoy your channel because it’s not scripted or choreographed. You are just you…Wonderful. I’m so so sorry your sweet fur baby struggles with seizures. You can count on my prayer for your Peace, God’s guidance and puppy’s comfort. Happy Thanksgiving Becky. I’m looking forward to Christmas with you. ☺️ ~Kathy from Oklahoma

Yes so true . Makes me crazy how there hair is in their faces. 😝
I feel this so deeply 😂
Or hanging over the food😖
I agree! When I was young I was a waitress. Back then we were required to wear hair nets. Anyone cooking was also required to wear them.
Sooo easy
For the bacon wrapped dates, I usually stuff them with sliced camembert cheese. So delicious!
I do homemade cream cheese and a THIN slice of jalapeño, then wrap with bacon.

Much simpler,
I love your videos And you have a way of making your viewers feel we are right there hanging out with you. Thanks so much for all the information and tips you add to your recipe videos!! Awesome.
It's SO HARD when our furry friends are having trouble! My heart goes out to both of you. May you get everything adjusted soon so he's comfy. Keep us posted so we don't get weepy when we think of him! ;)
...oh yeah, and the appetizers look great, too!
Girl...I admire you so much. Thank you for taking any moments in your life to share with us!
My recipe for onion dip also includes adding golden raisins, cardamon, cumin and ginger.
it's so fascinating seeing people try to be on time lololol and i'm definitely gonna make every single one of these. Thank you!
I worked at a bag shop & we Whip cream cheese with a little unflavored Seltzer water. Softened it up nicely 😁
It’s ok to feel emotional about your fur baby. You are obviously a tender hearted person. I hope you and your family have a blessed thanksgiving! 🦃
I never even noticed the prior video was "lower quality." I hope your doggie feels better. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
lol me too. 😂 I thought it was fine.
Prayers that your pup is feeling better soon and medications are regulated and pressures are lessened
I made the cranberry salsa for my family thanksgiving today. It was a huge hit, everyone loved it! Going to try the dates wrapped in bacon next.
Oh gosh I’m so sorry to hear about your precious puppy! I too had a dog who had seizures and it is emotional and hard so I hope he is doing much better now! As lame as this sounds I feel like you are one of my friends and can’t wait to “hang out” when you post a video! I hope you are your family have a wonderful thanksgiving as well 😊
Hi Becky, nothing better than watching one of your cooking videos to get motivated to cook a special meal for my family.♥️
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I am so sorry your sweet pup is having issues and pray they get the meds correct quickly.
Hope you had a wonderful time, thank you for having us in your home. Everything looks amazing!! I hope you can get things figured out with little Gizmo soon.
Thank you!
Try making bacon wrapped water chestnuts. Slice chestnuts thin/ 1/2 slice bacon. Bake at 325/350 till bacon is crispy. Using tooth pics to hold together. VERY YUMMY. Please try.
I brush my bacon wrapped dates with real maple syrup 💕
Just an FYI: Please always check your cranberries before blitzing them because I have had several go bad in a bag before processing. No one wants that in their foods. Great appetizer and video!
Good idea!!
Yes should always wash in cold water… sometimes has hard sticks in them.
Dear Becky, i hope your dog is better now. I love your videos, never apologize for being real. Send you my love and good thoughts for your dod.
I just LOVE how you season unapologetically! Everything you make in your videos always looks so delicious! 😍

By the way the Cranberry Salsa was a hit in our home! 💃
Yay! The resolution is fixed! Thank you so much. I hope you and your family have an amazing holiday.
You are great! I can’t believe how much I look forward to seeing your videos. I already watched this I think.
So fun to watch! I want to thank you for showing the “bumps in the road” all the way to packing it up for transporting. Very Helpful!😁👍❤️
Sending healing prayers for sweet Gizmo. You do so much to care for others. You deserve nothing but the best.
Thank you so much!!
Love the pepper hack. I hope your pup is feeling better. Big hug.
I’m sorry about your precious dog, I saw him on a few of your videos he was so precious, I know he’s in your heart!!❤
Becky we are here for all of it! These recipes look awesome and I can’t wait to try some! Big hugs to you from Minnesota! 💚Sara
Oh my! Look how fast your subscribers have grown. Don’t change a thing. You’re such a pleasure to watch. We love the real Becky.
Thank you for the support!
Becky i am addicted to your videos.
We love You Becky, not just for the food but for Your beautiful personality 💜🎄
I love your optimism, Becky. Thank you for sharing and being real. P.S. I love getting my bulk cheese from Azure Standard too!
Omg Becky, sorry about your dog, he is blessed to be cared for by a person like you.
You are beautiful in every way.
With the dates and bacon when they are nearly done I take them out coat them with teriyaki sauce and then finish cooking, they are lovely, all your food looks wonderful, hope your doggie is better soon ❤️
Keep us updated on the pup. I pray you find the perfect dose to help him. Dips look great. I could eat a dozen of those dates. Love & prayers.
I dislike goat cheese too. Try the boursin herb and garlic cheese from Costco instead. Spectacular
Ooh, I do like goat cheese, but this is a great idea!
I also don’t like goats cheese, but I love the boursin cheese! Soooo delicious
Hi Becky, Just wanted to tell you I tried the onion dip for Thanksgiving and it was a huge hit! Thanks for the recipe.
you know Becky one of the things that I admire from you is your strength and courage to smile especially going through a tough time with your beautiful babies! thank you so much for that! and one of things that I appricate is your specialty hand with the spices because I swear every recipe I have tried always felt lacking and always felt like maybe I'm adding to much but since switching to your recipes I swear it's just perfect! again love your beautiful spirit and and I think I have rewatches your videos so many times for just inspiration to cook! thank you and give you sweet pup babies a big hug and belly rub for me!
I love your videos so much! I'm gluten free and I love to see all your gluten free recipes. I can't wait to try the bacon appetizers
