Thank you so so much!! I’ve been trying to find a way to sell my work, and I didn’t quite know how to make it look so presentable. This helped me tremendously!! Gods given you such an amazing gift! Keep up the great work :)
I love how open you are with your lettering expertise! I hope you know that you're inspiring lots of people to try new things and start to sell their work. You definitely pushed me to do that. Thank you!!
THANK YOUUUUUUUUU FOR NOT EDITING OUT THE WHITE PEN SPRAYING EVERYWHERE LOL. I am realizing what a dang freak I am. I have been doing lettering for a couple years now and am just now finding you and going through all of your videos start to finish and my biggest takeaway is that I dont need to be such a freak about perfection. I get so stressed out when stuff like that happens!!!
I enjoyed your lesson on your freehand sign. so much is Crichton based its nice to see real artwork. I was surprised you didn't apply a matt spray to seal the project
Hey, Becca. I really love this. It showed me that you can take some inexpensive materials and add a lot of your TALENT to it and make a beautiful sign. You make it look SOOOO easy. Of course, it looks so easy because of your talent and experience but it makes me believe that a newbie like me can do it, too. It may take me a while but you make me believe that with practice and experience, I CAN DO I T TOO ! Thanks for all of your great videos! Mike Gross
Becca, thank you SO MUCH for this! I am working on a sign for my massage studio, and really needed these tips. I am enjoying your lessons on here!! Just subscribed...
Thank you Becca! Really do appreciate this video ! Cause I’m starting to write on different surfaces now and I need lots of help 😄 Also can you do one with writing on cloth pleaseeeee……. 😊
Hey Becca - I tried using the Sharpie oil-based marker on a small 10 x 10 wood plaque. besides the fact that the wood really soaked it up - I was wondering what size marker you used. I tried medium and fine and wasn't able to get thin enough lines to do faux calligraphy.
Hi Becca, I'm enjoying your videos on calligraphy (I'm revisiting some of the past so to speak) and I have some projects coming up (wooden banners for the most part) and I'm dealing with "letter spacing". To get the layout right, I need to make provisions for letters (horizontal spacing as well as letter heights), and I recall some terms from years ago when I worked for a phototypsetting company (EM's, EN's and so on having to do with letter widths). I'm having some trouble trying to figure out just where my "strokes" (upstrokes, downstrokes, ascending/descending, etc) land within a given letter space. Do you have any suggestions on just where, within a given letter space to place the strokes that make up a letter? The objective is to make the letters and the spaces between them consistent in a pre-defined banner length.
I’ve used General’s Chalk on my wood signs to sketch my layout and have had a hard time removing it. I use it lightly. Any tips? What pastel pencil did you use?
That would be my question, too. You have to wonder if the sign might get banged around on its way to wherever it's going. Also the couple may want it preserved for their first anniversary party.

Had to comment again to say I had no idea other people did that with their lids!! I do that all the time

Probably my favorite tutorial you’ve done so far!
Thank you for the awesome tips Becca! Beautiful work!
You are amazing!!!! I love it how you simplify everything!!!
I've practiced calligraphy since I was a teen and I would love to do this as my side job. Great tutorial.
So talented. In awe of the freehand ♥️
How did you clean out the bit where you left drips?
Beautiful wooden calligraphy work

Do you put a top coating on it? If it gets wet will it bleed?
Great tutorial! Did you do anything about the paint splatter on your final coat?
Thank you so much for this tutorial I live all your tutorials
Is the sharpie paint pen waterproof? Or would you recommend something else (spray sealant/exterior paint and brush?) in case of rain?
hi Becca, how do you erase the pain splatters? Which pastel pencil do you use? Thank you :)
I’ve only found your channel the past few days. I just wanted to say amazing work! I’ve signed up for your next class which is in about 90 days 😊😊😊😊
Yay! I'm so glad you're here!
Yeah, me too 😊
You’re an artist....handwriting and creativity. Amazing & Beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

😮😮😮😮wooow, alot of information love this..
thank thank so much this really helped me out alot
Do you add a top coat? Like a sealer or just like that it’s done? ☺️

Do you seal it with anything?
Hi Becca! Quick question, do you also stain the rear of the wood?
You don't have to! It depends on how it will be displayed. Just keep in mind it'll add to your dry time. :)
Hi Becca......just wanted to know if staining the wood is compulsory or not.......the wood I have is naturally dark
you're AMAZING! thank you for this tutorial :)
Yes thank you I did enjoy it. Just fabulous you are so cleaver. Love your videos. I'm so excited to give it a go. THANK YOU
hiii.. what paint can i use instead of the oil pens?
Thanks!
Hey Becca! I noticed you didn't seal the sign prior to lettering. Wouldn't your lettering bleed? Or is it because you used an oil based paint pen?
Do you seal the finished product?

Thank you - great help for my Christmas project. Lesley

Sabrina polanco I also use that one :) just like you said, yup- very gently!
Do you need to seal them with anything?

I love all your videos
If I wanted a wood sign with shiny clear coat on it, would I do that before or after lettering?
I guess after... After the paint dries completely, leave it for an extra day, and then you can put a couple coats of glossy varnish to make it shiny
Awesome! Thank you so much for this!
Gorgeous! Does the font for 'Welcome' have a particular style name?
probably "calligraphy/faux calligraphy/hand lettering" since the upstrokes and downstrokes are thinner and thicker!
I noticed some paint splattered. How do you remove that? Or if you smudge some of it?
I would love to know this too!
Me too!
Nice look
Beautiful 🥰👍
My fav video... 🥰
Can you offer any information on how you would price a piece like this?
Hi! :) I actually have a full pricing e-book at www.panicfreepricing.com :)
What type of pastel pencil are you using?
Totally AWESOME!
Love this! How much did you charge your client for this considering you purchased the supplies and stained the wood yourself?
Seems to be she does a pricing tutorial somewhere--her website, maybe?
Fine Work !!
Beautiful
Thank you for the tutorial :)
More videos like this!
Awesome 👏🏻
Yes Please!
beatifull!! i
Working on my minuscules "g" while watching!
The S and the 9 are a bit weird. I expected that in the end there will be an intentional "how to fix the stuff you don't like" part 😞
What's the size of the board. I know you said it was 32 inches long... what's the height?
Did anyone else gasp out loud at 12:15? Lol!
I did it myself with the Woodglut plans. I think this is the best way to find out how to build it.
Please tell me you didn't mean to write 2018
Melany Bermudez if you notice the calendar behind her in the intro, it says August 😜 it was filmed last year
Lol yup- I didn’t mean to write 2018. This was done in August!
Ye amo bb
