It touched my heart to hear the man say "I want to be a saint," then to hear the Bishop say, "The Great saints had worldly responsibilities." It felt like a message to me, as I often feel like I am divided between my spiritual time and the pressures of my life. But I guess there was never a saint who didn't also have worldly problems and duties.

I remember Bishop Barron talking about spending five minutes with someone and you will learn what is important to them. I did some self reflecting on that and asked myself what was important to me. My number one answer was, “freedom”. Today, just now, listening to this video, to hear the words of Pope John Paul II, saying to do as Christ says and you will be free, resonated so strongly with me because, maybe for the first time, I got it. I am reminded of so many snippets from these wonderful videos from Word on Fire and Bishop Barron where I have been told that God is Love. I have tweaked that a little and say, “not only is God Love but, God wants you happy”. In sin, we definitely can hurt others but we hurt ourselves too. We move away from God’s Love, God’s Light. Jesus tells us so clearly how to remain in the light. “It’s for freedom that Christ has set you free”. I don’t know about the rest of you but, “whoa!”. Major moment for this lapsed Catholic who is struggling to work his way back into the Light. I needed that, Bishop. I needed that almost desperately. Thank you and God Bless You.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful story. I got to participate in1993 when St John Paul II visited Denver. My 67 year mom and I, plus my 16 and 15 year old sons all walked to see St John Paul. My mother was always a devout Catholic and noting would have kept her away. Watching this still makes me cry.

When I see all these young people as well as the crowds in Medjugorje I try to argue and convince Jesus that YES there still are people who want to make Him the center of their lives, in spite of the evil that’s going on around us on this planet. What a joy filled pilgrimage it must have been thank you for sharing these highlights from WYD2023, I'm 49 years old and no longer a youth, but can recall how a pilgrimage/retreat I attended in 1989 with other youth truly helped plant seeds of faith for me. I can only imagine how much these young people will take back to their communities.
Bishop Barron, Yes we all are sinners and Jesus is Divine...the One to be followed. In the world's continued struggle with abuses past and present within all religious sects, I pray that not only may I continue to remain focused on Jesus, the True Divine, God's Light, and Mother Mary, but that maybe my little flame will shed Light and understanding and continued reverence to our Catholic faith. It must be so wonderful to be close to Fatima. I was just the other day saying that in the US we have never gotten a visit from the Blessed Mother (i was studying the miracle hunter's work). She goes everywhere else but never in the US (except for that one in the Midwest a hundred years ago when she asked a girl to start a bible study but it was so long ago) I would like the visit to be a happy event for Her and us and not a chastisement but either way i would love to be close to the land where she came. Personally i would live to see her if she ever came here. (I will never be able to afford to go to Fatima, La Sallette, Rome , Good Success, Guadalupe, or Lourdes so i wish she could come to a place close by)
I am blessed to live 15 minutes away from Fátima. When I was younger I never understood how lucky i was. You feel a great energy here. A peaceful energy.
She hasn't come to England since her appearance in the 13th century to St Simon Stock. Our major Shrines are at Walsingham, Norfolk, where she appeared in 1061, and Aylesford, Kent scene of the aforementioned apparition to St Simon Stock. Still we call England Our Lady's Dowry. Both Aylesford and Walsingham were destroyed and the pilgrimages suppressed at the Reformation and rebuilt in the 20th century. I have visited both many times.
Jésus we thank Thee for our Mother Our Lady of Fatima. Jésus you empower us, you make us beautiful, you give us a mission, you break through barriers of culture and religion and bring that harmony in the silence of our hearts by disciplining our desires. This is the Catholic vision and mission. Making us beautiful people finding and bringing beauty and your touch in our lives irrespective of the science we pursue and carry to the world. Each one is a unique Creation of yours in the Hands of Mama Mary. Jésus you allow us to become what you see in us loving God and His people.
