Dylan's Gospel took me out of neutral and reverse! I have been writing good Gospel tunes for the last 44 years because of people like "Uncle Bob", Barry McGuire, Phil Keaggy, Roger McGuinn, Richie Furay and many other gospel and secular artists who have had good, edifying lyrics and melodies!!!
It was very sad to see all of these guys embrace ancient superstition. I expected better from artists who initially appeared resistant to mainstream culture, but it turns out many were simply adopting a pose because the *appearance* of nonconformity was fashionable. The actual *thinking* behind it was only for the few.
