    The BNSF SD70ACE locomotive is one of the best looking diesels out there, in real life and Model form.

      I agree with you!
      It didn't get a lot of votes in my "favorite locomotive" poll, but I included it in this video because it's one of my personal favorites.

    Great assortment ! We enjoy your videos
    I'll give you an excuse to pick up a couple more locos and possibly cars -- I did a lot of research when I was younger on the AT&SF as it was my favorite road.
    The AT &SF's first Super Chief diesels were blunt nose cabs ('Amos and Andy' or the 'One Spot Twins' due to their large, single headlights), within a year the EMC sloped nose E1's were introduced - an A and a B.
    When F's and PA's were used they were in an A-B-B-A arrangement.
    Bonus! Now you can tell your executive director that you need to go locomotive shopping !!!
    Keep her involved as well.
    Happy wife - happy life!

    Look at the pink peach blossoms on the peach tree!
    You recently planted a peach tree in the garden of the house in Pasco, Washington, along with the four apple trees and the flowers, fruits and vegetables!
    And the two different berries are getting lots of blossoms!
    Amur maple trees drop a lot of seeds and more of the Amur trees grow from the seeds.
    Amur maple trees are an invasive species of trees that if you are to plant an Amur tree in a forest and pretty soon that forest will be overtaken by the Amur trees!

    • @JimZim
      @JimZim  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should have seen how things turned out for that peach tree this year! It was one of the biggest successes in my garden. All those blossoms turned in to peaches. In fact, way too many for a tree that size! So, we thinned them out to give them some room. We probably took off half of the peaches in order to make room for the others to grow, and to not overburden the tree. The remaining peaches did really well, and even survived a windy day or two this summer. Last week, all the peaches were ripe and ready for harvest... and we probably had 50 or 60 peaches! Kellyn is a peach fanatic, so she ate quite a few as they were... and then made a peach pie out of some of the rest. I think she cut up the remaining ones and froze them for later.
      The apple trees were a fail this year. I should have researched pesticides for apple trees, because they ended up getting infested with something. I'll get almost no apples out of the deal this year... but next year I'll do better!
      The berries were a huge success... not just the strawberries, but the blackberries and olallieberries. We strained out the blackberry seeds, added a little sugar, and it made a great topping for vanilla ice cream. We got so much of that that we had to freeze some for later.

    Mr. Zim, My kids just love your videos. They are big fans of trains and they wanted to say HELLO and they really enjoy your videos. We like especially that your content is very family friendly and we don't ever have to be worried you might say or show something little eyes and ears shouldn't see or hear. We also wanted you to know that we go yearly to Hesston Steam Museum in Hesston, Indiana, where you can ride trains and see all sorts of great steam machines! You might also want to look up a restaurant called Tyler's Tenders in Schererville, IN. This is similar to another video you've done where the food is delivered by trains. Thank you from Rolling Prairie, IN

    Now you have eight different cabooses in G scale!
    Four of them are from the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway.
    Two of them are from the White Pass and Yukon Route Railway.
    One for the LGB Christmas Coca Cola steam train.
    And one behind the three green pullsman passenger cars being pulled by the Bachmann brand Glenbrook narrow gauge brown steam locomotive.
    You bought the slightly different Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway caboose.

    How is your grass already so green?? I've been watering my lawn since March 31st (the day the irrigation water arrived) and put fertilizer down that same day, but it still looks like it's at least a month behind your lawn!

    • @JimZim
      @JimZim  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I started watering the lawn with city water in February. It only increased my city water bill by about $50, and I considered it worth it to be the first one for miles around to have a green lawn.

    I noticed two BNSF freight cars on the BNSF diesel freight train being pulled by the Burlington, Northern and Santa Fe Railway EMD SD70ACE AH diesel locomotive #9370 from MTH Electric Trains.

    • @thomascomeau9271
      @thomascomeau9271 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JimZim Oh right.
      The second BNSF freight car is slightly different from the first BNSF freight car and I also noticed another Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway caboose that has no yellow Santa Fe Railway logo on it.
      There are four cabooses from the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, two cabooses from the White Pass and Yukon Route Railway, the Coca Cola caboose for the LGB Christmas Coca Cola steam train, and the red caboose behind three green pullsman passenger cars being pulled by the Glenbrook steam locomotive from Bachmann.
      That makes eight cabooses in G scale.

    • @JimZim
      @JimZim  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My family had Lionel O gauge trains when I was a kid. I liked playing with them, but I remember being frustrated that they derailed a lot.
      Many years later, after getting married and having kids, we wanted to get some model trains to run around our Christmas tree. I had seen some G scale trains running in places like ice cream shops, and I knew that they ran reliably day after day without derailing... so, I thought this was the kind of train that I would like to have.
