Nice to see these discussed in a video! I picked up and refurbished a pair of 480 classics earlier in the year, managed to find some acceptable new old stock earpads but had to settle for a headpad thats a bit too small. They certainly have a nice quality about them, and I can see why you've kept them all these years, nice sound and very light on the head. Have you heard the classic II at all, and if so how do they compare?
Kevin... based on your previous comments... today I ordered pr 480 II's from Germany for 52 £ delivered to the States. Unfortunately not the Classic version (Al voice coils) which seems Very hard to find. Since I collect 1970's Sansui gear.. am buying older Sansui SS-20's tomorrow. Are there any other Sennheiser models you recommend that sound like the 480 Classic II's... but are more modern and easier to find ? BTW... based on your Spendor videos.. bought pr of S3/5's and Sansui 555 integrated amp for kitchen system. You are correct... Spendors are smoooth and easy to listen to all day. Keep leading the way !

Iv just gone to a charity shop and found a pare of Sennheiser HD 480 Classic II for £2.99 and i avc snatched em up ASAP! I dont have an amp so at the moment running em out of my iphone 🤭 they sound decent but how do you run them better?
Your iPhone will struggle to run them to be honest.. I used a lightning port to USB adapter and Audio Quest Dragonfly DAC, worked a treat but isn’t the loudest..
@@dittonworks the 3D is immaculate! Yet from out of my phone i think i get more clear audio out of even my Skull Candy Crushers, these maybe the headphones to beat my Grado SR 80e (highly recommend Grados)
