He rides the same way I ride...experience is a great teacher, I've survived because of constant vigilance and cool head. Sure...through the decades I've seen a lot of crazy things out on the road..had close calls, kicked a door or two ran over a few vicious dogs and flipped the middle finger good luck sign to a few...but usually a situation does NOT demand extreme actions or raging idiocracy...it's just stupid. Axe guy is seriously lucky. That would have ended badly for him with a lot of other people. The fact that he pulled that so quickly indicates he is a danger and that should have been reported.
likewise the guy shouldn't have gotten out of his car with an axe and instead reported the rider for reckless driving. Sharing the road is a two way street. When you ride warp speed down a surface street through people's neighborhoods they're probably going to get pissed off at you. Respect the law and their neighborhoods and we will see less of this kind of thing happening.
That one accident at the 9 minute mark is probably the best camera footage I've ever seen of a motorcycle crash and what happens to the rider. I don't know how that camera kept him in frame the whole time but that was pretty amazing, looks like his gear really saved him! As for the axe wielding guy at the end, I'm with you, think I'd launch my bike into him and pin him up against his car. If you give him a chance to start swinging that thing your pretty much defenseless.
In my neck of the woods, axe guy would've been on the news in a black plastic bag and a chalk outline. People like him are the reason I carry when I ride.
So you would rather that guy come at you with a gun in hand instead. Gotcha. People like you are the reason we have so many stupid senseless gun deaths. (lol I don't really mean that, just felt like something badass to say, not personal lol)

The ego makes everything personal, but in 99 of the 100 times there's no intent to hurt or inflict someone else, most of the people are simply unaware that they made a mistake. The way you skip on road rage is imho the way to address these issues and make people aware the road rage doesn't solve (and lead) to anything. Anytime you are stopped and someone approaches you in anger , with or without a weapon....kickstand down, key off, and YOU off the bike and stay opposite side of your bike from them. YOU CANNOT defend yourself on the bike...unless you want to shoot out into the intersection. Nope.
better just to ride off and avoid confrontation completely, however this guy could have avoided the entire confrontation had he not been riding at warp speed
People really don’t need to get that mad. Like they don’t realize how easy it is to make a tiny slip up on the road. We’ve all made mistakes and learned from them. There’s a reason I don’t turn right on red anymore. Other side getting a green arrow with no indication and then road rager running you off the road even though you got through before they were even moving. Gotta love it

The problem with accelerating out into the red light is that not only do you risk an accident, you also leave yourself wide open to a swing as you pass. I would probably keep the bike in gear and ready to launch into him, or get off the bike while holding it between us.
@@KentRoads you are deluded. With your easy triggered attitude you will have only trouble on the roads because you will looking them not avoid them. 9:42 notice how the backpack goes directly under his/her nape. Imagine if there were tools, keys, or another sharp, hard or spiky objects in the backpack. That's why you should try to avoid wearing a regular backpack on motorcycle. If anything try to carry only soft stuff like clothing
Another way to look at the situation with the man with an axe could be like this: He was watching traffic, but like many of us do, he did not anticipate the biker overtaking a car quite close to the intersection and exceeding the speed limit. However, he still managed to stop, even though he was partially in the intersection already. The biker honked at him, but to be honest, not entirely for a rightful reason. Then the biker continued to speed up. The video cuts, and we don't know what happened next. Later in the video, we see the man pulling out an axe. I'm not advocating for such behavior, obviously, but to be frank, I can understand that he might be rightfully upset about the speeding of that biker. Please, just drive more cautiously and save your need for speed for the race track.
16:18, that's the reason you keep your bike in gear, I would have dropped the clutch and headed straight for center mass before he had a chance to swing. Don't bring an axe to a bike fight!
I carry a less lethal pistol the ltl bravo 150 for any road rage that gets outta hand enough to break bones cause serious injury break windows what ever and totally legal in case you have to defend your self and you have distance to assert your line in the sand
Damn, axes or people with some kind of weapon and heavy traffic is common here in Mexico; so yeah, I try to not get into trouble and if needed you have to think blood colded and survive hopefully without having to hurt anyone... For instances, I would go back and try to escape the second I see the axe, if unable to escape I would ram over that guy
He is elderly so you need to take that into consideration before jumping the gun with escalating with violence. You would see the signs of him going to swing the axe which would then "justify" running him down in "self defense". Having a gun, taser, or mace would be best to have on your person always, so then in this situation you just get yourself in a position to be able to draw if necessary. But the very first thing to do in that situation would be to immediately get off bike and keep bike in between as a buffer.
@dandanthefireman you live in Az like i do. If some guy pulls up like that old man with an axe. I would most likely pulling out my gun and tell him to get back in his car. Then fine a safe place to call the police and my lawyer.
Had a close call with an aggressive lady who almost ran me over because she had a phone pressed to the side of her face she didnt see me right next to her window in slow moving traffic. She then made it a point to then purposefully try to run me over because even though i was moving out of the way i banged my palm on her window and scared her. I now carry when I ride for that reason.
That gravel on blacktop is the reason why I don't ride cruisers or sport bikes.Anything that can take dual sport tires can handle it better. And slow the hell down. All this carving corners till you have no buffer is just stupid.
13:31 Those are South African taxis, they always drive dangerously and not obeying laws. Always have to look out for them doing something crazy especially at intersections
13:30 - 14:30 is SA (looks like CPT, CBD and looks like stellenbosch arte)... Dan, you have no idea how crazy those taxis drive in this country. You can expect only illogical craziness from them and you can see it's rubbing off on your normal drivers, making them crazy as well. Drove for about 7 years between Parow to Stellenbosch (back and forth) in peak hours daily with a Honda 400 sf 99. It's a miracle I am still alive lololol. No where near as crazy as india and southern Asia places, but crazy. The problem is half of the road users want to follow the rules, the half do whatever they want. So you are always 2nd guessing every single person on the road (including the pedestrians).
New York plate JJX 8964, hope someone sent that shit in. Definitely was thinking gun it when he came out like that, didn't even need to see the axe just about. Some guys I know though, that fella would have been looking down a barrel
I’ve been watching you videos regular for a couple of weeks. I’ve ridden bikes for 45 years and I gotta say there’s too many riders not getting out of the way. Being right and dead doesn’t do one any good.
Someone comes out of their car with an axe, I fully agree, you need to take them out or escape before they have a chance to show you the sharp end... Not an unreasonable response for someone who is smart, law-abiding, and enjoys living. I like the way you think.
Yeah, that last guy I would have gotten his license # and reported him, threatening with a deadly weapon. And he had the video to prove it. That guy needs to learn that you can’t do that without consequences. He is just looking for trouble.
1. You don't pick up an axe out of under your car seat in other to have a 'chat' with someone. 2. The biker could be packing a pistol. 3. Best way to avoid this, probably don't speed or do silly stuff. 4. Best way to deal with an axe wielding crazy person, drop a gear and disappear, that way they cant assault you and you don't risk an assault charge too.
By dropping a gear…that would put this guy into the traffic with the green. I would either dismount and avoi…ah who am I kidding, sudden burst of throttle, wheelie the exhaust manifold into his chest and listen to the sizzle! And I am 65+!
Axe guy shouldn’t be bringing out the axe but he’s def right about going too fast. Most of these accidents could be prevented by people driving their bikes safer and legally.
I have no words. AHHH yes I do- thank fuck I don't live in the States! Axeman is definitely unhinged & I have no doubt if he keeps an axe at his side, more goodies are in his boot! But the responses here are equally if not more frightening. You guys seriously need to take a good hard look at how readily you will pick up a deadly weapon. It is beyond INSANE. Riding a motorbike & carrying an explosive deadly weapon- definitely never travelling to the U.S of A!
I agree with everyone who says the rider was going too fast BUT if you believe the rider to some degree deserved the reaction he got, you're not thinking right. What you're saying is it's perfectly within the axe guy's rights to stop his car, get out and threaten the rider (axe or no axe). He's taking the law into his own hands. He doesn't own the neighborhood or the road or is licensed to enforce the speed limit. The driver should never have gotten out of his car or threatened the rider. The same goes for us riders. Road rage and threatening behavior are against the law. Full stop. If you want to take the law into your own hands then expect consequences from the law or someone else. I've done it and it didn't always end well.
Probably not the best call with axe man, but my first thought would be rev the bike, dump the clutch, and launch it at him while hoping off as it wheelies into him. Then Id take his axe and wait for the police. He initiated an encounter with a deadly weapon and would recieve equal force if it meant I was preserving my life.
The old man axe wielder is going to mess around and find out if he keeps playing that game. Someone is going to answer his axe with their firearm and be justified. "Clear threat of great bodily harm or death" is all it takes.
Guy with the axe is lucky he didn't get popped with the front tire or a gun pointed at him. Flipping someone off should never result in them pulling up on you like that and hopping out with an axe.
The dude with the axe drives a Toyota Avalon, which weights approx. 1.62 tons. Intentionally stopping 1.62 tons of mostly metal in front of the rider is just as insane as the axe-wielding.
@@Xelbiuj Yeah, it does, unless you're of the delusional frame of mind that it's OK to do what you like to people around you and shouldn't have to face the consequences of your actions. That the agent of the consequences is as much of an anti-social jerk as you are doesn't really make a difference.
Good content about what to do or not to do, but in most of these clips I see riders driving far too fast, poor lane positioning, not looking ahead, overreacting in an entitled way. Most of these could be lessened or prevented with any of the above.

Dude could have legally caught a case of "Overdose by Vitamin Pb" in most states, including my state(PA).
2:26 haha i like that you skipped this angry guy he's hot head for no reason we prefer cool heads on the bikes :)
Haha, you get bent over and pegged by other drivers
@@KentRoads you are deluded. With your easy triggered attitude you will have only trouble on the roads because you will looking them not avoid them. One day you end up in the road rage that's you looking for. Hope when you will get older you'll see how silly your interactions with others were. Just rely on your skills be calm and enjoy your rides the anger gets you nowhere
Yeah, im either escaping or pulling my sidearm. In this case with it being a red light he leaves me no other option, pew pew.
That is standard South African traffic for you. It is crazy and lawless on these roads.
Hey Dan!!
I, personally, carry a firearm while riding...
This is the second time I've seen my home town in your videos 😂
@14:30 welcome to traffic in South Africa
he totally missed 4:24 the truck invading the motorcyclist's lane
Hop out with an axe and get mag dumped. That's insane!
16:18, that's the reason you keep your bike in gear, I would have dropped the clutch and headed straight for center mass before he had a chance to swing. Don't bring an axe to a bike fight!
The busses that kept going is just how they are in South Africa.
16:45 once someone pulls a weapon on me im gonna "fear" for my life and light them up like a early 4th of july .
I carry a less lethal pistol the ltl bravo 150 for any road rage that gets outta hand enough to break bones cause serious injury break windows what ever and totally legal in case you have to defend your self and you have distance to assert your line in the sand
Oooh bubba woulda got this 40 cal if he got out like that.
Bout to apply some ft lbs of pressure with my 9mm tool
The problem with being the guy who keeps an axe under his seat is one day he will make an excuse to use it
Check out less lethal launchers for bike defense
Gun beats axe. Stay strapped
@dandanthefireman you live in Az like i do. If some guy pulls up like that old man with an axe. I would most likely pulling out my gun and tell him to get back in his car. Then fine a safe place to call the police and my lawyer.
Axe man knew that the biker was doing 60 mph lol that’s pretty good estimation.
I had my first dog trying to attack my motorcycle while riding today. Crazy moment for me
Let the music play, my dad went wide over a guard rail and was only found when a passer-by heard his bike radio still playing
"I might accelerate into him"
That gravel on blacktop is the reason why I don't ride cruisers or sport bikes.Anything that can take dual sport tires can handle it better. And slow the hell down. All this carving corners till you have no buffer is just stupid.
13:31
Those are South African taxis, they always drive dangerously and not obeying laws. Always have to look out for them doing something crazy especially at intersections
Taxi drivers are also like that here in the UK same with bus drivers watch out for them too
13:30 - 14:30 is SA (looks like CPT, CBD and looks like stellenbosch arte)...
Gotta get that train horn
Clearly, the guy had an axe to grind...
Guy with axe would’ve made a great Angry D video 😂
Yeah, that last guy I would have gotten his license # and reported him, threatening with a deadly weapon. And he had the video to prove it. That guy needs to learn that you can’t do that without consequences. He is just looking for trouble.
Grandpa wasn’t playing no games. Then hit him with the right at the light 😂😂😂😂😂
Axe guy would have been introduced to my Glock 23 if that would have been me
I ride and carry. It's a necessity.
If I didn't hit him in the face with my front tire, I probably would have read the plate out loud, pulled over, and called it in.
Rush hour traffic free for all, happens all over…
I agree with everyone who says the rider was going too fast BUT if you believe the rider to some degree deserved the reaction he got, you're not thinking right.
That guy with the ax decided that was a beautiful day to die!
The old man axe wielder is going to mess around and find out if he keeps playing that game. Someone is going to answer his axe with their firearm and be justified. "Clear threat of great bodily harm or death" is all it takes.
Theoretically, if the axe guy got shot by the biker, who’s in trouble with the law ? (Ignore the prior speeding part that’s not what I care about)
Not a tough decision put that old man in a forever box
and thats why i ride and carry concealed
Where was the car turning the wrong way on a one way even coming from?
I'm drawing on axeman 100% of the time, that's ridiculous
Guy with the axe is lucky he didn't get popped with the front tire or a gun pointed at him. Flipping someone off should never result in them pulling up on you like that and hopping out with an axe.
Hop out like that I’m dumping the bike and drawing my weapon…. I’m not dying for some idiot….. hopefully he backs off…
Glad I live in the USA that has the 2A and glad I live in a state that fully supports the 2A. Axe man would have met Mr. Glock lickity-split.
Honestly axe guy is valid and based af
The dude with the axe drives a Toyota Avalon, which weights approx. 1.62 tons. Intentionally stopping 1.62 tons of mostly metal in front of the rider is just as insane as the axe-wielding.
A rider who was, admittedly, doing nearly twice the speed limit. Kinda puts a different complexion on it, don't it.
@@ianmason. No.
@@Xelbiuj Yeah, it does, unless you're of the delusional frame of mind that it's OK to do what you like to people around you and shouldn't have to face the consequences of your actions. That the agent of the consequences is as much of an anti-social jerk as you are doesn't really make a difference.
PA
He brandished a weapon. Technically if in Ohio rider could stand his ground. Ride safe 🔫
Lol you have a battle axe I have a Battle glock
Good content about what to do or not to do, but in most of these clips I see riders driving far too fast, poor lane positioning, not looking ahead, overreacting in an entitled way. Most of these could be lessened or prevented with any of the above.
