- Kuching is the capital and the most populous city in the state of Sarawak in Malaysia. It is also the capital of Kuching Division. The city is situated on the Sarawak River at the southwest tip of the state of Sarawak on the island of Borneo
Ada yang menganggap Kuching City kelihatan sepi... tetapi mereka tak tahu "sepi"nya Kuching City itu adalah salah satu daripada perancangan jangka panjang bagi mengelakkan Kuching City menjadi tidak ergonomik untuk penduduknya. Pusat-pusat komersil dan pejabat-pejabat kerajaan dan swasta tidak dipusatkan dalam satu kawasan sempit, tetapi diletak di dalam lingkungan dan jarak yang bersesuaian antara satu sama lain. Ini menjadikan "kelegaan" kepada sistem jalanraya yang mana kenderaan bermotor tidak akan tepu pada sesuatu kawasan sahaja, maka tiadalah kelihatan sesak Kuching City yang dilihat "sepi" oleh para pembencinya... Adalah lebih baik menjadi Kuching City daripada menjadi "bandaraya sarang tikus" seperti kebanyakan bandar besar di beberapa buah negara lain... keep going Kuching City!

I love this. Really missed my hometown Kuching so much. I also have published some videos on Kuching on my TH-cam channel. I watched them repeatedly when I am homesick.
I was in Kuching many times during the Confrontation and spent time in Kuching Hospital when I was injured. I love the People and love Kuching and Sarawak. I gave two and a half years of my life for the freedom of Malaysia and was glad to do it. I made many friends but it was a long time ago( I am now 80 years old) but memories never die. This video is special to me, thank you for making it.
My wife and I were here years ago , only for a short time. We travelled on to Batang Ai. This upcoming May we are returning to Kuching for three weeks . We cannot wait.

Minute 37.44,the site of my grandmother’s former home , in 1998 moved to another area to make way for the construction of a waterfront riverbank.

Did not recognise Kuching. I was bases at Kuching airport in 63-64 time with the Royal Air Force during the time of confrontation with Indonesia. Have several black and white photos of Kuching market place etc. You have a beautiful City now. One thing I notice is the lack of birds. Used to be many birds in my days there. Thank you for sharing.

The Kampung house look very quiet because only the Parents are staying in the house. Now all the housing project are outside city centre like Petra Jaya & along Samarahan. Kuching have 2 Mayor 1 North & 1 South. Look once he's walking out of the Kampung the traffic never stop. Kuching is the cleanest city in Malaysia.

memang sepi penduduk malaysia jg sedikit di banding Indonesia saya penduduk Kalimantan Barat tepatnya ketapang pontianak Indonesia kota jawa memang ramai penduduk dan kota nya tetapi ekonomis tidak merata sehingga terlihat kumuh tapi kalau kuching memang sepi tapi ekonomi nya merata 80 % mobil semua, bahkan sepeda motor hampir jarang

and seems to need some tuk-tuks or rickshaws to make more exciting.
1) it's mid day so quiet hot and humid.
2) Kuching and most of Sarawak is very Car centric/dependent so everyone is in their cars doing things.

Kau lihat, dia berjalan di jalan utama, saya yakin, kalau dia berjalan di lorong2 pasti tak jauh berbeda, di video lain pun dia berjalan di Jalan utama, terlihat sekali daerah perkantoran, dan restoran, di video Indonesia, dia kebanyakan berjalan di lorong2....di area pemukiman penduduk yg padat, dan dia sedikit sekali berjalan di jalan utama yg terlihat lebih tertata, dan walaupun dia berjalan di lorong2, bisa dilihat kalau mereka jg mendapatkan jalan dgn kondisi bagus beraspal.....
