Ordered a frameset from Officina Battaglin back in 2018. Since their workshop is not too far away from my home (albeit already in another country about 3 hours to drive), I decided to pick the frameset up on my own. Alex Battaglin, the son of Giovanni and head of the company intermitted his lunch break for just one guy (me) and gave me a 1 hour tour on the workshop, explained all the maschines to me and showed me the memorabilia from his father. An experience I will not forget and something you will only get with people of passion and dedication.... And by the way, the bike rides like a dream ;)
You’ve always got to love a good Italian steel frame 👍😊
Only with the right parts👍
I always give a thumbs up for masking up when cutting the carbon steerer!
+ doing it outside too! Seeing all those other “build” videos with no masks and doing it inside just pains my internals lol.
The man has a kid. Hopefully he’s doing it all the time.
Gees...that's beautiful...thanks Jimmi and Nic..
Masterpiece... 1 of 50. Such a rare treat. Thank you
Beautiful frame colour WOW
Awesome build! You know what would make this even more perfect?
A handlebar/stem combo like the ones Sturdy cycles makes, titanium, but brushed/chromeplated so that it matched. It will l ook a like old quill stems
Campagnolo mechanical groupset and change the spacers or other Deda stem.
Super Record EPS why not
Love this .. what a beauty ❤
Loving the Wild Apron!
Absolutely stunning...for someone who'd been deliberating between steel, aluminium & carbon, watching this has confirmed my original 'want', there's just something about 'steel', although it won't be as beautiful as that Battaglin!!! 😍
What a beautiful bike🤩
Stunner!
Nice, bold color choice. It's like a much cooler version of a custom Medici I had built back the day but mine was in candy apple red with chrome seat stays, chain stays & fork blades.
Pink !!!!!!!! Tassles on the handlebars and a basket on the front and it would look like my sisters first bike !!!! Only joking jimmi , it looks good all be it in a strange way 👍
I feel like I’m learning to become more a mechanic just by watching you work
I feel that way about making babies when I watch porn…
Beautiful build and lovely details. Not a fan of integrated cabling (that headset+spacers looks hideous on the bike, imho), but very cool build.
Yes yes yes
❤
What a dream bike 😍😍😍
We coulda done a much more refined work with the wheels and components…
🎉 Beautiful bicycle. It's up to the person paying for it if they want the cables inside or out.
Still a beautiful bicycle. But for me, personally, cable should always be on the outside of a bicycle. Easier to work on.
I'm a little surprised they went w/ the "old" Red instead of the "new" Force for the updated hood ergonomics, but it's all pretty badass anyway.
❤💯💥💪👍👍
What a Stunnnnnnnnnnah!!
When he cut the brake hose did you see that DOT fluid fly? DOT fluid eats the finish of that lovely frame. I got about half a dozen spots on my coffee table to prove it.
Battaglin...SIGH...😍😍😍😍😍 Is that actually a Deda compact bar with a classic bend? Wow.
$$$ exquisite $$$
Muito linda mesmo!!! Só gostaria de saber qual o peso, incluindo os pedais.
Parabéns pelo trabalho!!!
That negative stem with the spacers... why? Integrating cables with an out of place chunky modern front end on a classic steel bike? SRAM Red when both Force and Rival are newer designs. Deep section Zipps (ugh, those bearings) on a skinny tubed bike? I like the frame, but the choices here are terrible.
Beautiful frame, trying not to look at the bar and stem though.
More like the stem/spacers
Wild Ones Ep3 ear bug thing is Star Trek film Wrath of Kahn
Metal bike - with fine lugs - great to see! ( I keep my titsed-out Serotta on the living room wall, as wall art. ) In its day, 1984, it was future-proof
Didn’t start with the mandatory cup of coffee
Lol 😂
Beautiful but could they have just gone with a 0 degree stem and no spacers?
😍😍😍😍😍
Not into road bike at all- but that is very nice looking ride👍🏻
Very nice bike 🙂why not cut the steerer flush with the stem? looks a bit like a chimney
Is it common for steerer tubes that are not round to have a shim? And if so what are the options. The shim that came with my Battaglin seems short, only about 1 cm long.
Rim brakes 🇮🇹 ☝️
i have to trow away a aluminium custom mtb from Battaglin because it's broken, i would like to see it restored and take it to the modern era....
If it's a custom frame why the heck so many spacers needed?
I think this is not the final position. The stem is an unusual (-17°?) one for so many spacers. Most likely the owner will ride it in order to be sure about the steerer length and stem, before making the final cut. You have to remember that because the hose is routed through the head tube, it is not so easy to change the height by removing spacers, like a traditional external set up.
Its for the "compulsary" internal cable routing. Horrendous.
@@bengt_axle ok that makes more sense thanks. Was very much hoping that this wasn't the final look as its making my eyes bleed
@@the.communist agree - horrendous
Beautiful frame, dog shit stem.
the hate for the looks of the deada integrated cable thing in combination with the lugs and the steel frame makes me want to punch a wall. why would you ever do this :D or then at least form the headtube differently so it does actually fit from a look perspective
Yep, Looks horrendous
I'd probably try to wrap the spacers and stem with chrome vinyl to make it match more.
Just slam the stem XD
Jokes aside yeah it looks a bit off. Wish it was more rounded.
@@RavenSungOfficial The annoying part is, ive seen a bike at Eurobike with that exact daeda solution and it can look normal if you just use the right size headtube. Does this kill the aero benefits of the integrated cables? yes but there are no aero steel bikes so fuck it
Love it!! Wanted to do a custom built UK version of this before the Time came along but no one like Paragon etc would reem a head tube that big for ACR / DCR set ups 12 months ago……. Then I saw the cost of tubesets and lead times and that then made the Time real value for money! 😮😢
Should have used silver or chromed bars stem and cranks
Totally wrong build for that lovely frame 🙀 sorry.
Totally agree
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
is this a deda d-shape fork?
I think so, mine has a weird flat spot for internal cables I think
Watching this video felt like slow, passionate lovemaking
Not for me. It has hydraulic disc brakes. I would have it if it had rim brakes.
Quite a lot of comment relating to how it looks rather than how it rides.
but whyyy disc :(((
That is not a bike. That is jewelry!
I feel like the bars and stem should of been chrome not black 😅
Those spacers under the stem for the cable routing destroys the whole beautiful bike
Promo`SM
The look of the spacers 🤮
I had to stop watching and have a cold shower.
Gorgeous bike. But the chrome plate effect on the fork make it look like cheap plastic.
this needs a NSFW tag.
Lo de arriba de la potencia es una porquería 😢😢
Those headset spacers just ain’t it. Completely internal cable routing just isn’t worth how bulbous they are if it were my bike. That frame is so nice though.
Great video, great editing & music & Nick building but the choice of wheels is so off… such an Italian frame DEMANDS Campagnolo wheels. And I woulda chosen 3T components over DEDA. Ideally Campagnolo Super Record EPS but I know it’s ridiculously expensive… ZIPP mat wheels are just wrong. And the tires!!! Bad choice. wtf put some VITTORIA CORSA PRO I mean FFS! They’re Italian, faster & look a million times better
Those headset spacers ruin the beauty of the bike
Why oh why would you put sram on this..... good grief......wrong on every level.... #nocampagnoparty
Dont know if i mentioned how beautiful this bike is? 🫣
