My family have both 2011 and 2018 sorento and the new one has the v6 which is a big plus. There have been no issues on the 2018 model but minor ones on the 2011 except battery failure on both at first year of use.
I work for Hyundai Motor Sales and the Santa Fe SEL Premium 2.0T or Limited 2.0T are awesome with incredible acceleration, the H-Trac AWD system I would highly recommend living in the Midwest(Chicago area) where we have snow, it will go through any thing and love the power. We have 2 kids with car seats with plenty of room! I own a Sonata Sport and Santa Fe SEL Premium 2.0t AWD and am very happy with both! Best Warranty out there!
Hey thank you for stopping by sir, honor to have you here on a review. I certainly agree that the power is great with the Turbo. Hyundais HTRAC is legit I absolutely loved it on my Genesis G80 and would be a must for me if I had to have the turbo motor. Really love what Hyundai has been able to accomplish with these cars. The comfort and refinement exceeds certain luxury cars.
2020 ultimate, with 40K miles. Im very pleased with my vehicle. After replacing tires, turning grip improved. Uphill is better when you switch to manual. No power loss, or annoying automatic upshift when riding on a steep road.
Driving- love the driving..its great..am a Car enthusiast so i get it..its not an X3 but i dont want it to be..am just glad Hyundai has finally given me every feature withouy charging me an Arm and Leg for it
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Hyundai and Kia are top contenders in the automotive world. To the ones out there that look down their noses at the Korean automakers, really don’t know what they are talking about. Thanks for the review and stay safe bro.
I def agree so much value to be had when you go with them and thanks so much my friend you and your family take care as well. I appreciate your support
I own a Kia Sorento 2015 and hands down is the best , most reliable car I have ever owned in my life, and I have owned around 10 vehicles . Looking forward to replace it with another Kia or Hyundai in 1-2 years.
With nearly nine hundred miles on ours, it has been perfect! Seriously, the car is great. Comfortable and big enough to return from Costco without anything sticking out a window! Yet, small enough to maneuver in traffic. 🥰
I have owned my Santa Fe Limited 2.0 T for 6 months and have about 11,000 miles on it. I had not considered Hyundai before and was looking at a Ford Edge. I liked the look of the Santa Fe so decided to test drive it. Honestly I was blown away. The Edge is a nice car but I could not get past the $9,000 price difference for an Edge Titanium. The Santa Fe has a better feature set and the only thing it lacks is the self parking feature. If you cannot parallel park you should rethink driving. The Santa Fe has features the Ford did not. At 6’4” I like space and the Santa Fe delivers in spades. That, added with the tech made it a super buy for the price. I drove the AWD and decided on the FWD due to my dealer having the new Calypso Red with beige leather interior in FWD. I have two other AWD vehicles (Escape and Expedition) so don’t have to have AWD in this car. I agree that if you accelerate hard on a turn it can act squirrelly but I really don’t do that. I like the turbo passing power on the highway and for merging onto the turnpike. For me the turbo was a must have, but agree that for most drivers the regular engine is okay. I really enjoyed your review. Good, practical commentary and aimed towards everyday normal people. Not the esoteric fluff that some reviewers feel the need to go into. I am really happy with my Santa Fe so far and the incredible warranty was icing on the cake, as were all the great safety scores. I drive a lot and feel very happy and satisfied with this purchase. I keep vehicles a long time and put over 210,000 miles on my last daily driver. I hope the Santa Fe is as good for me over the long haul. We will find out!
Dennis, thank you so much for stopping by my friend and leaving such an awesome comment. Massive congrats to your new purchase I think you did great with it and with such a long warranty, the vehicle will give you peace of mind throughout your ownership. Thanks again for your kind words and Im very happy that you appreciate my pragmatic approach to reviewing cars. Enjoy the new ride!
Many thanks for this relatively rare review that isn’t heavily weighted toward the enthusiast crowd, i.e., those who think that the Santa Fe should be compared to a Porsche 911. I, too, like a comfy, quiet, dependable ride, and I appreciate the emphasis on those areas in this analysis. Great job!
I'm so happy you appreciate this approach my friend. I too grew tired of that nonsense perspective and that is why I started doing car reviews and started to take it seriously. Thank you for stopping by and watching
Subscribed because of 19:44 & 20:01 lol - Seriously though, I like your relaxed style, it's like going for a ride with a very well informed buddy. I just took delivery of my 2020 SEL, and I feel like i'm already a Hyundai fan-boy.
Thank you for this review. I just bought this model when someone traded in their lease. I'm trying to learn all the technology features right now, and do like the drive.
Just got my 2020 a few weeks ago. For the most part, I love it! But I’ve been finding some things I dislike about it. 1. Gas guzzler! (Could be I’m just used to good gas mileage my sonata offered). 2. The wireless charging feature overheats my iPhone (13pro max) sometimes. 3. I can’t turn my heated seats on with blue link remote start. 4. There is no remote start on the key fob 😤 5. The emergency flashing lights can’t be disabled with the blue link remote start. Other than that, it’s a great vehicle! Great review
I love my 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe SEL with the convenience package the only thing I miss is seat memory and I don't mind the 2.4 engine I get 32 miles per gallon on average
Loved your review man. So honest and straight. I am seriously considering the Limited now that my 2017 Rogue limited lease is ending. Love how feature packed this thing is with high comfort and quiet. Reminds me of Rogue... Lots of value with quiet interior and soft engine (2.4), but without CVT. I may miss the better gas mileage however if I went with the Santa Fe, plus no CD player, which I am used to.
Hey thanks so much my friend glad you found value with the review. Yea I think you will like this vehicle a lot. If you go with the regular non turbo 4 you should be able to get some really good real world fuel economy. A new Santa fe is coming so you should be able to get a good deal on a 2020 if you wanted one best of luck
Thanks! I never understood why people expect to see a commercial when they click on a review. It's like people don't actually want to learn about cars they just want to sit there and hear nice things being said like why 😅
I don’t care what anyone says this is the coolest soccer mom suv. My family just got an Tucson yesterday I seen this I was like wow I want one never thought I would like an suv this and Tucson are my favorite.
Bought a 2020 orange lava burst with the grey and brown interior with the 2.0t with AWD. Best car I’ve had by far. The AWD doesn’t have any issue with the power of the turbo!
This is a good car (and a good review!) I always like the manufacturers that maintain low levels of NVH. It makes the car feel more luxurious, like you said. Oh yeah, NA four cylinders can be better in a lot of scenarios compared to the turbos that get all of the attention nowadays.
Agreed! I don't think this engine is necessarily bad but way it puts down its power isn't ideal and for that the NA would shine and in a practical sense would be superior like you mentioned thanks again for the continued support like always
I wish they would sell it with two exhaust pipes. It just looks more balanced and sporty. It's not that Hyundai had to invent it. Previous models had them.
What a great review! Thanks. I was new car shopping in early February before all the current pandemic issues. I drove this car (Santa Fe sel 2.0 T), a v-6 Sorrento, Mazda CD 9, Ford Edge, Subaru outback... I ended up backing away on buying for the time being. I was very interested in you take on the 2.0t vs the 2.4 liter engines. In 48 years of car buying i have never owned a 4 cyl engine so that is a big issue to me, but I know the engines nowadays are very effecient. Thanks again!
Hey thanks so much sir I appreciate you stopping by. Yea whole industry is headed towards turbo 4s its unfortunate and some get good fuel economy and others do worse than 6 or even 8 cylinder engines. The Sorrento is a great choice love how it still comes with a V6 but they will be redesigning it soon so V6 will be going away with the sorrento I think.
I found this on the Hyundai website regarding the rear seats: Sliding 2nd-row seats with cargo-area releases: - SEL NO S LIM 2.4 STANDARD S LIM 2.0T STANDARD
Just want to clarify that when you say it's $10k cheaper to drop down to the naturally aspirated engine, that's not the case unless you also drop a lot of features. If you keep the limited trim and just drop engines you're looking at about an $1800 difference, and that does not include the $1700 AWD option. So if you go with the loaded 4-cylinder with AWD per your example, it's only about $100 cheaper than the one you're driving. You only get the big savings when you drop trims, in which case you are giving up all the other limited features.
Yes and I apologize I should have clarified I was referring to a 4 cylinder front wheel drive mid trim level as most will not NEED everything in the limited trim people just want it. These Hyundais are best bought mid trim with a few niceties at a steep discount
The Limited trim includes heated front and rear seats, air-conditioned front seats, two-setting driver's seat memory, heated steering wheel, 19-inch alloy wheels and a built-in navigation system. Save yourself about $5000 and get the SEL Premium trim which does not have heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, air-conditioned front seats 19-inch alloy wheels, drivers seat memory and nav system. Same great car, less happy crap IMHO.
I rented a 2020 Santa Fe. I love the car and the way it handles. On the third day of my rental I realized that the seat is not comfortable for driving over one hour. The driver seat is too narrow. I was squirming in my seat because of discomfort. This is a show stopper for me as I was ready to buy one for my upcoming trip across country.
The driver seat isn't too narrow- the seat has "wings" on the sides like a sports seat, but they're not too bad to get over, unlike true sport seats. I guarantee a seat pad would take care of your issue and prevent fatigue. This vehicle is without a doubt the BEST VALUE in the mid-sized SUV class, hands down. A totally loaded Limited trim with turbo and all-wheel drive will be less than a comparable Subaru. Throw in Hyundai's best-of-class warranties and free maintenance for 3 years you .can't beat that.
I'm 6'8" and i haven't been able to fit comfortably in an Hyundai for 10 years. THIS one I just drove over 200 miles with no leg pain. I was shocked. This not your Hyundai of yesteryear...they've come leaps and bounds,
Kevin: your review of the Hyundai Santa Fe is excellent because it's peppered with your own analysis of this car. Very enjoyable and right on the money. I'm going to sound like a Hyundai spokeperson and I'm not. The company for some years has been making great cars and as you say Kevin (don't know your last name), Hyundai knows what buyers want and delivers accordingly, and does so real well. I recently went for a rather extended test drive of a Santa Fe turbo 4 front wheel drive with exactly the same features of the one you drive in your video. I happened to notice all the things you mention and fully agree with your assessment. The Santa Fe is a very impressive midsize suv. Excellent ergonnomics, very easy to use all features, and it's packed to the gills with them. Comfortable, great visibility, very responsive. Roomy and attractive all around. Quiet and powerful. Didn't drive a regular four cilinder with 185 hp, nor did I test one with all wheel drive. I bet though the regular engine is sufficient and I'm being subjective here. Don't know but all wheel drive would be an overkill and an expensive one at that. Forget Toyota and Honda, Mazda, etc and spring for a Hyundai. I owned a Accent I'd purchased in 2013, a hatchback. A very nice car, but my needs for a bigger vehicle changed so I traded it for a non Hyundai unfortunatelly. I'm seriously considering returning to the fold and purchasing another Hyundai. They make impressively excellent vehicles, reliable and inexpensive. Look forward to viewing more of your reviews Kevin.
Thank you my friend, glad you got to take it on an extended test drive. You're absolutely right, these newer Hyundai Kia products really hit above its weight class and are a great purchase new. Thanks again for watching!
One of the best, most straightforward reviews on TH-cam. Great work. My wife and I have a baby on that way and we are looking for our first SUV to match our growing family. We seem to be drawn to this, the Tuscon and the Mazda CX-30 & CX-5. We’re itching to test drive these babies once this pandemic dies down. THOSE FINANCING OPTIONS THO!!! 0% for 72-84 months got me so THIRSTY!
I'm humbled that you find value in my work sir thank you so much. Yea this really is a great choice especially when looking at size, price, and comfort since that is what this car does best. Yea those are some great rates and no payments for like 6 months I think. CX-5 is really nice driving wise but I think you will like the comfort of this since you will be having a baby. Best of luck my friend
Exhaust Sports Auto so we drove both the Hyundai and Mazda SUVs and I gotta say... we were really impressed with the CX-5 and 9. Were most likely going to go with the CX-5 Grand Touring AWD and the GT Premium Package as it’s within our price range. That’s HUD is a nice touch, along with interior and the minimal g-force on sharp turns.
@@fortheloveofjk97 This is the only reason I didn't get a CX-5 a few years ago. Rear facing infant seats in the back require the front passenger seat to be pushed significantly forward. I went with a CR-V and am likely now getting a Sante-Fe.
Thank you ! Going to the dealer to check this out. A little confused with the trims they have but no turbo for me. SEL trim or SEL + with loaded features.
I'm considering the Santa Fe Limited 2.0T or the 2019 Limited or Ultimate 2.0T to replace my family's 2008 300C with the 5.7L V8 which is quite thirsty on gas. This has a better balance of power & efficiency. Even the 2021 onwards Calligraphy has more HP & torque than this one does. The Calligraphy trim has that 2.5T with 281 HP & 311 lb-ft of torque, & the interior is even nicer than the Limited & Ultimate trims of the Santa Fe
I liked your video. I would like to know if you like the Kia Sorento or the Santa Fe better. I am leaning toward the Santa Fe, and I am glad you mentioned the less expensive choice of the 4 liter. I will look at that for $10,000 less. I'm glad I didn't purchase before I watched this video.
Thanks so much my friend just happy you found value with it. So the Sorrento has not been redesigned yet like the Santa Fe however, the Sorrento handled significantly better and you can still get a V6 with that vehicle. If you value quietness and a tad bit more comfort, the new Santa Fe might be for you. I think you will be satisfied with either but certainly do take a look at both. Yes the regular 4 cylinder will save you some money for sure. Best of luck my friend
I'm on my 3rd Santa Fe. 2014, 2016 and 2020. I recommend stay away from the turbo. Love my Santa Fe limited 2020. One problem with the 2020 is the airflow around the windshield is different than the older models. I'm on my 3rd windshield in 90k miles. Rocks hit hard when kicked up by semis. You will have cracks and nicks in the windshield. My current windshield has tons of nicks in it and 2 crack holes. Otherwise a great car. Even my 2022 Tucson limited has a couple of small holes in the windshield. I still recommend these cars, but be aware of the problems.
I am not worried at all about Hyundai..thry really have doe well and continue to do well...honda and toyota are overrated in my experience..i went with the SEL convenience package and believe me i love it..only thing i didnt get in the convenience package is the memory seats
MY TURBO IS WHITE. YOU ARE CORRECT ABOUT THE TORQUE STREER, PUT IT IN SPORT, AND NAIL IT AND YOU HAVE TO FIGHT TO CONTROL IT. IT IS VERY QUICK, QUIET AND SMOOTH. I DID SOMETHING MOST OF US DO NOT DO. I GOT IN THE BACK SEAT AND RODE AROUND. I'M 6 FT, AND TONS OF ROOM. THE RECLING SEATS ARE SUPER GREAT. THE AIR VENTS WORK GREAT. I WENT TO OFFICE DEPOT AND BOUGHT ME A NEW OFFICE CHAIR, HIGH NECK REST, VERY LARGE. WE WENT OUT, HMM, HIT THE GREAT FOLD BUTTONS AND BINGO PLENTY OF ROOM. I KEEP A LARGE PLASTIC BOX IN THE REAR, TOOLS, LIGHTS, JUNK. I STILL HAND ROOM TO NOT MOVE IT. I BOUGHT A SMALL SET, 1" WIDE BABY CGU'S AND PUT ONE HOOK IN THE LEFT SIDE AND HOOK THE OTHER IN RIGHT SIDE. BIG ITEMS, JUST LASH THE TIE DOWN TOGETHER, NOTHING MOVES. THERE IS SMALL HOOKS IN REAR TO HANG PLASTIC BAGS. ALSO WHEN YOU PUT IT IN REVERSE BOTH REAR VIEW MIRRORS TILT DOWN TO HELP SEE CURBS. WHEN YOU TURN OFF, THE DRIVER SEAT GOES TO FURTHEST REAR POSITON TO HELP GET OUT. TURN ON, SEAT RETURNS TO ORIGINAL SETTING, KOOL. THE RIGHT IS THE SAME FEATURES AS DRIVER SEAT. THE THIGH SUPPORT IS VERY GOOD AND WORKS FOR ME. I STILL SMOKE. THE ONLY ASH TRAY I COULD FIND FITS IN THE CUBBY WHERE THE WIRELESS CHARGER IS. I HAVE PHONE HOLER IN ONE DRINK HOLDER AND RUN POWER CABLE TO IT. I'M PROBABLY ONE OF THE FEW OUT HERE THERE OVER THE YEARS I RECORD ME OWN MUSIC. MY SONATA SPORT AND THIS HAVE THUMBDRIVES. DOWN LOAD YOU BUT OFF AND CREATE YOU OWN MUSIC, NO COMMERCIALS AND GREAT STEREO. I LOVE FUNK MUSIC, NEED LOTS OF BASS. THIS SYSTEM WITH SUBWOOFER IN REAR WILL MAKE YOU DEAF IF YOU GOT COURAGE TO TURN ALL THE WAY UP. I ALSO AGREE, TOO MUCH BLACK. AFTER MARKET RED AND BLACK, RED HEADREST AND SO MUCH COOLER. GET THE HUNDEE REAR FLOOR MAT. CARPET ON ONE SIDE RUBBER ON OHTER FOR DIRTY THING HAULING. LIKE MANY OF US, I CONVINCED PARTNER THE TUBRO GOT BETTER MILEAGE. TO BE HONEST, I LOVE THE TURBO KICKING IN, A LOT. THE POWER IS ADDICTIVE, SO MY MILEAGE IS NOT GOOD, BUT IF YOU DRIVE IT NORMALLY IT GETS GOOD MILEAGE. STAY OUT OF 'SPORT'. ONE MAJOR IMPROVEMENT WOULD BE TO PUT THE FORWARD CAMERA BUTTON ON THE STREETING WHEEL. FANTASTIC, YOU CAN USE IT TO PULL YOUR VEHICLE UP CLOSE TO PARKING POLES. EVERYONE PARKS THREE FOUR FEET FROM THOSE POLES. I CAN PULL UP WITHIN INCHES. VERY ACCURATE CAMERA SYSTEM. ALSO WHEN IT DERTERMINES IT'S DARK, WHEN WALK UP THE DOOR HANDLES LIGHT UP, PRESS BUTTON GIT IN. ON MINOR COMPLAIT. WITH REMOTE STARTING THE LONGEST IT WILL RUN IS TEN MINUTES. THAT SHOULD BE ELIMINATED. LET ME CHOOSE HOW LONG TO TOTALLY DEFROST. DITTO SUMMER. BUT THE HEATED AND COOLED SEATS ARE MARVELOUS, AND IN THE SUMMER THE LEATHER BLACK SEATS CAN BE AN OVEN, BUT THE COOLING GITS YOU OVER THAT PROBLEM, ALL LEATHER SEATS. THE CRUISE AUTO BRAKING WORKS GREAT, AS DOES THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE. AFTER AWHILE YOU FEEL LIKE IT SHOULD STOP AT LIGHTS AUTOMATICALLY, IT'S SO GOOD. OH, YEAH, THAT LITTLE SPACE ABOVE THE GLOVE BOX IS GREAT. I PUT MY EXTRA GLASSES IN THE CONTAINER, READY TO GRAP. YOU GOTTA LEARN HOW TO USE THE FANTASTIC SUNROOF. THERE IS A 115 AC PLUG NEXT TO THE SEAT RELEASES FOR TAILGATING. LOVE THE AUTO OPENING TAILGATE, JUST WALK UP AND IT OPENS. EVEN THE CLOSING BUTTON IS LITE UP AT NIGHT. ALL FUNCTION BUTTONS ARE LITE UP WITH THE SYSTEM. I HAVE ONE SMALL PROBLEM. THE ATTEMPT TO SAY I 'FORGOT' THE BABY IS FUTILE. IT SETS OFF THE HORN, HEADLIGHTS AND TURN SIGNALS, WITH ANY MOVEMENT IT DETECTS. I HAVE SHIH TZU. IF I LOCK DOORS, LOWER WINDOWS, AND OPEN THE SUN ROOF, THE MOMENT HE MOVES THE SYSTEM GOES OFF. SO I HAVE TO LEAVE UNLOCKED, ENGINE RUNNING FOR HIM TO DASH IN STORE FOR SMOKES. I HAVE THE OPTIONAL TEN YEARS BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY. IF OVER 150 MILES FROM HOME, BREAK DOWN, THEY PAY HOTEL. USELESS, CAUSE IT WILL NEVER BREAK DOWN. LOGISTICIANS, WE CREATE WARRANTIES FOR EVA THING. IF WE SAY 100,000 REPS OF ANYTHING, IT GET LIFETIME WARRANTY, I'VE OWNED ALMOST TEN HUNDEE KIA'S. MY 2006 KIA RUNS GREAT AS I SIT HERE. OTHER THAN TIRES AND BRAKES, AND OIL CHANGES MAYBE $600 DOLLARS FOR TIMING SENSOR REPLACEMENT. NOTHING HAPPENED TO THE REST OF THEM. ONE UNIQUE THING, GO TO DEALER AND A LOTOF THE SALES ARE REPEAT SENIORS. WE LOVE RELIABILITY TO THE END. HUNDEE'S AND KIA'S ALL ARE GREAT VALUES, ALL THE WAY UP THE GENISIS, S CLASS LUXURY. BUY A TURBO AND ENJOY THIS WONDERFUL WORLD IN COMFORT AND STYLE. ALMOST FORGOT, THE 8 SPEED IS GREAT, UNDER NORMAL DRIVING, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT GEAR I'M IN AFTER SECOND SHIFT, ITS SO SMOOTH YOU CANT FEEL IT SHIFT. QUIET, WHEN FIRST BOUGHT, GOT OUT WENT SHOPPING AND FOUND IT STILL RUNNING.
great video as always. Americans are so lucky, you can get the premium sound system with both engines. In canada, Its only available to us on the top line trim with the 2.0L turbo. way too expensive. I agree, I would get the base engine. if the upgraded engine was the 3.3L V6 in the Kia sorento, I would consider stepping up to that, otherwise no need to spend on the turbo.
Oh that's unfortunate sucks they make you do that and yea I love the V6 and idk what it is about the Sorento but that thing was great at handling power too bad they are getting rid of the V6 option moving forward
The US is lucky, in my country all these cars cost 30-50% more and we make 6x less on average than the US so its out of the question for the middle class and we get india made stuff with bare bones trims and shady safety.
Hyundai needs to offer remote start on the fob like everybody else and the base 2.4 needs to be upgraded to the new 2.5 in the Sonata with 191 HP otherwise these are a good little package.
Well you have the option of getting this turbo motor that was featured in the video but if you want this power you should definitely get awd as it doesn't put the power down too well
I’m strongly considering this or a Sorento SX or SXL bc they both overlap in terms of features & they both look amazing inside & out. In South Florida with the insane heat here you need remote start with cabin temp control from your phone, & ventilated front seats which both of them have. They both have all the luxury & tech features I want inside & out. They both have a 360° camera, parking sensors, all of the latest driver assistance tech, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, rear USB ports, reclining rear seats, rear manual side window shades, a high end audio system with Clari-Fi music restoration technology, & leather or Nappa leather seats, & more
Purchasing a used 17K mile 2019 Limited with 2.0 Turbo and AWD with all the fixings. At 29K it can't be found almost anywhere for the price. Looking forward to driving it tomorrow.
I noticed at around 21:14 it looks like you slid the back seat forward?? Pretty sure the sliding rear seat was removed on all trim levels for 2020. My 2020 limited does not have adjustable rear seats. Maybe because it's a press car/early production and still had the feature. Or was that a photo from a press kit?
@@MeynMotorGroup All the space under the back floor is there because in some markets this is sold as a 3 row with seats that stow away. I had originally tested a 2019 but waited for the 2020. I was disappointed that the sliding rear seats were removed, but supposedly that feature added to rattles, so I'll be happy with the quiet since I'm usually the only person in the car. Again, excellent video.
@@BobKarnowski I found that out on the one I bought, plenty of leg room back there and the seats do recline. I really like my Limited 2.0T fully loaded, good gas mileage on the highway!
Loved your review! But hardly anyone mentions towing capacity. Some of us use boats, cargo and utility trailers. Or even go off road to retrieve an animal.
Just bought a 20’ Santa Fe SEL AWD with 16,000 miles for $28,000. The Santa Fe is superior to the built 16’ WRX I had prior. The Santa Fe is beyond comfortable, smooth & quiet. The only thing is that it has no fucking power. Switching between my built 94 383 LT4 Camaro z28 and the Santa Fe makes it even more noticeable how underpowered the Santa Fe is. I’ve gotten up to 43 mpg in the Santa Fe on the highway going 75mph-80mph. Im a mechanic for an airline and 80 of the vehicles the other mechanics daily drive are Hyundai’s & KIA’s. None of them have had any problems. I’ll be a Hyundai/KIA customer the rest of my life. These vehicles are such low maintenance and so fucking reliable that’s it’s crazy. I drive 36 miles each way to work and I beat on my cars but take really well care of them mechanically, I plan on keeping the Santa for 6 years or longer.
PUT IN SPORT DRIVING MODE IF YOU WISH AND THE POWER COMES ON QUICKER. SO FAR I ONLY FFEL THE FIRST TWO SHIFTS, SMOOTH. SAME AS MY SONATA SPORT. FIRST 1000 MILES LOVE IT. THE MOONROOF IS OUTRAGEOUS, AND UP TO 40 MPH, YOU'D NEVER KNOW IT, NO SOUNDS, OR AIR DISTURBANCE IN CABIN.
Great review , super articulate and entertaining . "some sweatpants thing goin`on " . question ; does the 4 cyl. come without the turbo , or did you recommend the Turbo 4 cyl ? thank you
Haha thank you my friend glad you liked it. Yes there are two engine options if you want to save money, there is a none Turbo 4 cylinder you can get, especially if you are buying FWD, I would only suggest that motor. If you must have the turbo power, I would suggest paying up for the AWD as well since it will distribute power better so it will handle better. You will most likely take a hit on fuel economy tho but power is good. Hope this helps
Exhaust Sports Auto, I have a 2019 Santa Fe ultimate 2.0T with Htrac. Never had burn outs any stability control try to kick in. I would it’s a great AWD system that was developed for the genesis. A correction, the build with AWD and 2.0T upgrade does not add $10k. $1800 for the 2.0T and $1700 for the AWD.
Im really stuck on if AWD is really worth it or not?I love the Ambient lighting for the Sonata but its not AWD but i would like AWD if im traveling for work,I got my trim levels pick out i just don't know which one to pick?!?!?! LORD lol.
If you get the Turbo I would def get awd but if it were the regular 4 cylinder try the fwd first and then test a reg 4 cylinder with awd see if the extra handling matters to you
Hello MR car tester ! Lol .. I'm curious on the leg room ? From your video it looks like your right knee or both look like their almost touching the plastic below the steering wheel ?? Are you tall or is that's how its designed? Anybody tall could answer back would be great !!! Thanks
I drove a rental Hyundai Santefe years ago. The performance of the car was great. I also liked the easy visability the vehicle had. It looks like the Sante Fe offers you a lot. I was looking at the Toyotas but what I see is all looks and nothing offered to the driver unless you spend two years salary. I cant see paying $50,000 for a Toyota. For 5k you may as well get a Mercedes Benz of a BMW. The 38k price for the top Sante fe is a good deal. I just dont know what the long term reliability of the vehicle is?
100 % agree about the comfort ,,same feeling when i test drove one. but in my opinion the regular 2.4 engine feels empty,, believe me i am not asking for an spirit driving exprience in this car,,but the turbo is the perfect match for the weight of this car. that turbo engine move so easy ths car,,and also is the perfect complement for the almost luxury ride in this car,,smoothness is important
For sure my friend it truly is luxury like and yes turbo motor is nice gotta get AWD with the turbo motor if you want the power, handles much better. This is a great ride
I saw it looks alright I'm a big fan of the current Sorento actually especially with the V6. Kias are usually more "dynamic" than Hyundai so it will have that going for it as well. But thanks for being number 1 bro haha can't thank you enough for the support. Let me know if you like the new Sorento over this Santa Fe
@@MeynMotorGroup yeah I think the Sorento cream pies in this Santa Fe and then tells it it's not gonna pay for the child. Actually that's inappropriate, but I don't feel like deleting it. Imo the Kia is better but I do wish they kept some of the elements from the old Sorento like the amber DRLs. I thought that the new Sorento is going to have a 3.5L option? Maybe I heard that wrong somewhere. But in terms of looks I think it does look better than the old one. Certainly looks less like a mom car/minivan from the front and the back. I don't really love how any of the Hyundai SUVs look right now except for the Palisade ironically. I think that one just has so much presence and it's easily distinguishable whereas the Santa, Kona, Venue all kind of look like the same car but spec'd more poorly 😂. I love what I'm seeing from the 2021 Tucson images though, so I'm eager for that! Hope you get a review sooner rather than later!
Hahaha I wont delete I like the real I like your passion for the new design lol yea would love to check out the new Tuscan I think if this review does well they will start to give me more Hyundais thank God but not sure what to do to get some damn Kias on the channel
@@MeynMotorGroup you got rid of your plug man you had the Stinger. You were supposed to be Carrie's (or Carry?) spokesman for Kia but alas betrayed for the bimmer ahhhh!!!
Haha yea Kia got pissed when I came with the real they thought they had a free spokesperson. Had no idea they can be so vindictive lol. But actually the presscars are handled separately and they are more than happy to give me press cars but they changed the company that handles them to Atlanta and I think they are too far now to deliver me cars unfortunately I think I'm going to just go to dealerships
Them definitely are nice 👍🏽 I drive the Hyundai Santa Fe AWD SE tho But if you get AWD you don’t get any wheel spin period regardless if the roads are wet or dry The Htrac AWD is much more better because it’s hard to get the vehicle to slide when accelerating aggressively or turning a corner from a dead stop in ran. The vehicle just goes without wheel spin 👍🏽👍🏽
I have a 2020 Limited 2.0 Turbo with AWD and i have no issues with the tires slipping; even in the rain. I was actually shocked at how easily the wheels break free in the 2WD he tested.
Great Review for the real world. I have a 2020 Limited 2.0T AWD and wheel slip/torque steer non existent: even on wet roads and with the crappy tires (pretty sure it had continentals on the 2019). AWD does make a big difference (I tested a FWD too) and was a must since I'm in Wisconsin. Double pane glass on windshield and front windows helps make the vehicle more quiet.
@@MeynMotorGroup I really do love the thing. So quiet and great for long highway drives. The SF has come a long way from the 2002 we purchased new. Keep the reviews coming!
I have a 2006 azera ltd. with all the electronic crap on the 2020s why did Hyundai.eliminate electric side view mirrors ,they make me get out of the vehicle and manually push the mirrors in so I don't damage them when I back into my narrow garage and why did they make adjusting the steering wheel manual ?
I bought the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe with the 2.0 all wheel drive and love it. My wife has the Palisade, larger and more room, however I think Hyundai did a great job on this vehicle. Please don’t compare a front wheel drive model with the 2.0 engine, that model in my area is the bastardized model no body wants.
I have one and he left out a lot of features and a lot of the safety features the guidance the heads up display I'm just saying there's a lot more that this suv has than he shown
Picking SUVs just has to come down to what your most valued feature is because most of them are better than another one at SOMETHING for example the Santa Fe (just as an example) might be best in class technology if it's at all up to par with what the 2020 Sonata's got. Meanwhile the Murano might be best in class cargo room or something. The Mazda tends to be worst in class in that aspect I believe
Agreed every manufacturer has a strength or something they focus on more I just like how Hyundai Kia is so well rounded with their products and features
@@MeynMotorGroup they're the best I actually ranked my favorite lineups of vehicles (separated mainstream and luxury lineups) on my FB and Kia was number 1, Hyundai 2, and Mazda number 3 and so on. Lmk if you'd agree with that!
Yea man that's my top 3 for sure I love the value the Koreans bring and just makes so much sense for families to go with them if you happen to get a stupid cheap lease on a Mazda then go ahead and enjoy that but I love the comfort especially in this Hyundai
I like Hyundai and Kia. But I don’t exactly get why most of their lag behind their competitors in fuel efficiency. It is the case with all their sedans and SUVs.
Real world MPG has always almost proven to be superior to other competitors. Turbo engines when pushed always get bad mpg no matter who makes it that's why I always recommend naturally aspirated engines if possible
I have a 2010 Sante Fe. It is very noisy, and does not have a smooth ride. Also, the paint on the exterior flakes off about. The steering wheel has also deteriorated over the years, and you have to have a cover installed on the steering wheel. My Sante Fe has 130 thousand miles on it.
I like this vehicle. The only thing that really bothers me are the rear blinkers located in the bumper area. They are placed too low! Gosh, it bothers me so much💩

Driving- love the driving..its great..am a Car enthusiast so i get it..its not an X3 but i dont want it to be..am just glad Hyundai has finally given me every feature withouy charging me an Arm and Leg for it
Yup love how they give you what you want at a great price
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Hyundai and Kia are top contenders in the automotive world. To the ones out there that look down their noses at the Korean automakers, really don’t know what they are talking about. Thanks for the review and stay safe bro.
I def agree so much value to be had when you go with them and thanks so much my friend you and your family take care as well. I appreciate your support
Couldn't agree more
I own a Kia Sorento 2015 and hands down is the best , most reliable car I have ever owned in my life, and I have owned around 10 vehicles . Looking forward to replace it with another Kia or Hyundai in 1-2 years.
Except the engine recall issues?
@@mike73ng , they have acknowledged and repaired countless vehicles for customers. They stood by their products.
With nearly nine hundred miles on ours, it has been perfect! Seriously, the car is great. Comfortable and big enough to return from Costco without anything sticking out a window! Yet, small enough to maneuver in traffic. 🥰
Nice great to hear!
So how has it been over the last 3 years?
Great review! Well done! You tipped the scale for me. Bought the AWD Turbo!
Many thanks for this relatively rare review that isn’t heavily weighted toward the enthusiast crowd, i.e., those who think that the Santa
Fe should be compared to a Porsche 911.
I'm not in the market for one but I have to admit the Santa Fe does look delicious.
Subscribed because of 19:44 & 20:01 lol - Seriously though, I like your relaxed style, it's like going for a ride with a very well informed buddy. I just took delivery of my 2020 SEL, and I feel like i'm already a Hyundai fan-boy.
Haha thank you so much my friend I really appreciate the support and massive congrats on the new Santa Fe, great value for money, enjoy!
4. There is no remote start on the key fob 😤
This review is all about honest opinion, not the kind one may want to hear, but the kind one needs to hear. Super helpful. Good stuff!
Thanks! I never understood why people expect to see a commercial when they click on a review. It's like people don't actually want to learn about cars they just want to sit there and hear nice things being said like why 😅
I love my Hyundai Santa Fe! Fully loaded FWD. From my Sonata to a Santa Fe #hyundaiforever
I have a sonata now! Can’t wait to get a Santa Fe for my family!
I don’t care what anyone says this is the coolest soccer mom suv. My family just got an Tucson yesterday I seen this I was like wow I want one never thought I would like an suv this and Tucson are my favorite.
It is definitely very nice for sure!
Bought a 2020 orange lava burst with the grey and brown interior with the 2.0t with AWD. Best car I’ve had by far. The AWD doesn’t have any issue with the power of the turbo!
Good to know and massive congrats on your new purchase!
Very eloquent review. Fantastic video and host.
Hey thanks so much I am humbled to hear that. I really appreciate you stopping by as well
This is a good car (and a good review!) I always like the manufacturers that maintain low levels of NVH.
I brought a Santa Fe Sel 8n October and I Love 💘 It!!! My SEL has A Lot of features not missing many apart from the Premium Santa Fe.
Congrats!
I’m sorry I’m slow do yours have the premium or not. I’m thinking about getting a SEL but it does not have the premium
I wish they would sell it with two exhaust pipes. It just looks more balanced and sporty. It's not that Hyundai had to invent it. Previous models had them.
Yea would be a nice touch
Great Review. We searched this class for a few months and landed on this exact car except without the turbo. We love it!
Nice great choice my friend glad you like it. I really appreciate you stopping by
Great video!!! Got to know my 2020 Santa Fe SEL+ much better. Happy I went with the Santa Fe!!!
Thank you! Yea the Santa Fe is phenomenal
I have the SEL with leather seats, I love it, best vehicle I ever had
Nice!
Thanks again!
...CX-9...
4 cyl’s moving 4000 lbs. Gotta be a big fail someday,
I found this on the Hyundai website regarding the rear seats: Sliding 2nd-row seats with cargo-area releases:
- SEL NO
S LIM 2.4 STANDARD
S LIM 2.0T STANDARD
Good information sir
Just bought the 2020 Danta Fe Limited. Hyundai did it right! I LOVE this car.
Just got mine and I love it and mine it's just the SEL and still has a lot of features.
Hey does does yours have the sunroof or no?
I bought the 235hp limited 2.0T AWD version in the Calypso red fully loaded and love it.
Massive congrats my friend!
7:40 lmao. That’s definitely about to be me. Just bought one and should be delivered on Wednesday.
I couldn't get comfortable in the last gen santa fe -- steering wheel was too far away no matter what I did. Hopefully they fixed that in this one.
Yea I liked the adjustability in this car have not tried the old santa fe but thanks so much for watching my friend
I'm 6'8" and i haven't been able to fit comfortably in an Hyundai for 10 years. THIS one I just drove over 200 miles with no leg pain. I was shocked. This not your Hyundai of yesteryear...they've come leaps and bounds,
The Santa Fe has a come a long way since gen1.
Oh yes sir big time 180 haha to say this is quiter and more comfortable than a Lexus NX that's pretty good haha
@@QLaCarver Make sure you can your car seat in the CX-5. I've read lots of people have had trouble with this on different forums.
@@fortheloveofjk97 This is the only reason I didn't get a CX-5 a few years ago. Rear facing infant seats in the back require the front passenger seat to be pushed significantly forward. I went with a CR-V and am likely now getting a Sante-Fe.
Great review.
Hyundai's are extremely very reliable cars.
Excellent review. Trying to decide between Santa Fe, Highlander, & Enclave. Giving the edge now to Santa Fe.
I hate it when car reviewers drive the most expensive version of a car. we want to know about the base version.
Great review
Thank you my friend!
Great real world video. Nice job
Thank you my friend!
Hmmm. Now I’m confused. Was looking at the Turbo. Might have to test drive turbo and non turbo
If you want the turbo power just pay extra for the AWD
Night and day difference
Good review. Thank you. What color is the model you reviewed?
Hey thanks so much I believe it was the Calypso Red
Very nice 👍 car just bought 2020 Hyundai Monday really liked it 😘
How much did you pay?
Hyundai needs to offer remote start on the fob like everybody else and the base 2.4 needs to be upgraded to the new 2.5 in the Sonata with 191 HP otherwise these are a good little package.
Well you have the option of getting this turbo motor that was featured in the video but if you want this power you should definitely get awd as it doesn't put the power down too well
Yes! Blue link is kinda annoying
That is awesome very happy for you my friend such a great vehicle
I noticed at around 21:14 it looks like you slid the back seat forward?? Pretty sure the sliding rear seat was removed on all trim levels for 2020. My 2020 limited does not have adjustable rear seats. Maybe because it's a press car/early production and still had the feature. Or was that a photo from a press kit?
Yea video from a press kit no idea how they did that tho lol that's why I threw in that footage to.show its possible
2.4 has plenty of power I get over 30mpg on a long trip at 65mpg no problem getting on hwy turbo has a BAD lag when pulling away from light
You wouldn't believe how many santa fes and tuscons are in my small town. Most of them are like 15 years old too.
Yea i definitely believe it
PUT IN SPORT DRIVING MODE IF YOU WISH AND THE POWER COMES ON QUICKER.
What about the fuel dilution problem with the oil?
Take it to the dealer and get it fixed
Im really stuck on if AWD is really worth it or not?I love the Ambient lighting for the Sonata but its not AWD but i would like AWD if im traveling for work,I got my trim levels pick out i just don't know which one to pick?!?!?! LORD lol.
If you get the Turbo I would def get awd but if it were the regular 4 cylinder try the fwd first and then test a reg 4 cylinder with awd see if the extra handling matters to you
Good day
On the next video .kindly review mazda cx 8 thanks.
Always watching yoir video.
Hey thanks so much Nestor I think you mean the CX9? I already posted a full review on the 2020 CX9 if you are interested thanks!
Why u wanna floor the gas in a turn just beats me!
slowasss drivers need to get tf off the road
Thanx bro
I appreciate you watching bro!
Exhaust Sports Auto No problem
100 % agree about the comfort ,,same feeling when i test drove one. but in my opinion the regular 2.4 engine feels empty,, believe me i am not asking for an spirit driving exprience in this car,,but the turbo is the perfect match for the weight of this car. that turbo engine move so easy ths car,,and also is the perfect complement for the almost luxury ride in this car,,smoothness is important
For sure my friend it truly is luxury like and yes turbo motor is nice gotta get AWD with the turbo motor if you want the power, handles much better. This is a great ride
What're your thoughts on the new Sorento man?
Them definitely are nice 👍🏽
I drive the Hyundai Santa Fe AWD SE tho
But if you get AWD you don’t get any wheel spin period regardless if the roads are wet or dry
The Htrac AWD is much more better because it’s hard to get the vehicle to slide when accelerating aggressively or turning a corner from a dead stop in ran. The vehicle just goes without wheel spin 👍🏽👍🏽
I wonder if you drove the AWD version of it. That one might be better.
I havent but if you want this turbo I would highly recommend awd even if you don't live in inclement weather
I have a 2020 Limited 2.0 Turbo with AWD and i have no issues with the tires slipping; even in the rain. I was actually shocked at how easily the wheels break free in the 2WD he tested.
Great job getting the AWD yea if you have to have the turbo power, AWD is a must to put the power down
Great Review for the real world.
Oh nice great to hear the AWD made a huge difference glad you like the ride
@@MeynMotorGroup I really do love the thing. So quiet and great for long highway drives. The SF has come a long way from the 2002 we purchased new. Keep the reviews coming!
I am done buying FWD SUVs, had many simple situations that I could not handle with FWD. AWD gives peace of mind even if you lose some agility.
I live in Minnesota, I too bought the AWD Limited 2.0T and really like it and was able to get $7K off sticker with discounts and incentives (in April)
I have the 2019 hyundai santa fe 2.0t. I wish i had purchased the 2020 Kia Telluride sx
Telluride is nice but yout Santa fe is much cheaper
I’m at the dealership the motor sounds weird. Knocky 4 cyl humm
Is this one the exterior color Lava Orange?
Hi thanks for stopping by this is actually thr Scarlett Red. Hope this helps!
This reply seems extra nice..wonder why lol
I have a 2006 azera ltd. with all the electronic crap on the 2020s why did Hyundai.eliminate electric side view mirrors ,they make me get out of the vehicle and manually push the mirrors in so I don't damage them when I back into my narrow garage and why did they make adjusting the steering wheel manual ?
I'm concerned the 4 cylinder engine won't provide enough power.
That’s not true, I’m okay with. The 2.0L turbo with FWD bc it gets better MPG than the AWD version
Torque steer is the only thing that I don’t absolutely love about this car. 2020 Ltd. 2.0 turbo.
I have one and he left out a lot of features and a lot of the safety features the guidance the heads up display I'm just saying there's a lot more that this suv has than he shown
We would be here for hours and days if I went through every little thing that you could have googled in 5 seconds or saw on Hyundai's website
Good review. Came close to buying a Sante fe. Ended up with Rav 4 2020 xle 2 weeks ago
Oh wow congrats how are you liking the new RAV4? I thought it handled great
However watching your review helped in our decision. Although we are a Toyota family
Have one ..bought it 1 week ago..i have the 2.4l and love it..i had aRAV 4 before and honestly Hyundai has a better warranty and service experience
Massive congrats my friend great pick up
Picking SUVs just has to come down to what your most valued feature is because most of them are better than another one at SOMETHING for example the Santa Fe (just as an example) might be best in class technology if it's at all up to par with what the 2020 Sonata's got.
7:33 😂😂😂
Glad you appreciated that haha
I like Hyundai and Kia. But I don’t exactly get why most of their lag behind their competitors in fuel efficiency. It is the case with all their sedans and SUVs.
Real world MPG has always almost proven to be superior to other competitors. Turbo engines when pushed always get bad mpg no matter who makes it that's why I always recommend naturally aspirated engines if possible
One reason is because of the weight of insulation to make it quiet. RAV4 is very loud but great mpg.
Compression ratio
I have a 2010 Sante Fe. It is very noisy, and does not have a smooth ride. Also, the paint on the exterior flakes off about. The steering wheel has also deteriorated over the years, and you have to have a cover installed on the steering wheel. My Sante Fe has 130 thousand miles on it.
I like this vehicle. The only thing that really bothers me are the rear blinkers located in the bumper area. They are placed too low! Gosh, it bothers me so much💩
Yes I noticed they are doing that as a new styling element not a fan of that either
@@MeynMotorGroup thanks for your reply🙋😊
19:43 lmao
Lol I'm glad you got that far in
Having the 2.0 Turbo engine adds weight to the vehicle ove the base engine
The weight isn't a huge issue the added power more than makes up for like not even an extra 100 pounds of weight
Go Pack!
Ayy thanks for stopping by my friend
It's really unfair tha Hyundai don't install head units with wifi capabilities, never ever in my life I will buy Hyundai again, I'm super angry 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Lololol ok
I did just buy a2020 santa fe 2.0t ltd
How do you like it now?
Well... it comes with a Theta 2. That is enough to know not to buy it.
Too chatty.... just get to the review! Stay safe.
I guess you've never seen a car review before maybe you wanted to see a car commercial
