I have the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited 2.0T FWD which was purchased in December 2018. You can't go wrong with this SUV. We also own 2 Honda CRVs and the Santa Fe is by far the better vehicle...better price, more features, smooth ride, a great interior (love the panoramic moon roof), no CVT, lots of convenience features and a longer warranty. Perfect for our family of four. I drive a lot of stop and go traffic in metropolitan Baltimore and I personally choose to turn off the start/stop feature. I love the smart cruise control and collision avoidance. I didn't get the navigation because I just hook up my phone easily through Android Auto. This vehicle deserves a look if you're in the market for an SUV.

I JUST BOUGHT A 2020 ELITE 2.0T, AND I'M IN LOVE WITH IT. QUIET, STURDY, SOLID. THE DRIVER ASSIST IS FANTASTIC. DITTO FOR THE AUTO WIPERS. IT WILL BY ITSELF COME TO A COMPLETE STOP FROM THE LEADING CAR. ONE NEAT THING IS THAT YOU CAN DIAL IN THE SPEED, AND IT SHOWS ON THE DASH. THE COOL PART IS AFTER A STOP, AFTER 20 MPH, HIT RESUME AND IT TAKES YOU BACK TO THE SPEED YOU SET. THE HEADSUP IS FANTASTIC; EVEN SHOWS THE SPEED LIMIT. ALSO THE REAR SEATS SLIDE AND RECLINE. TONS OF ROOM, AND THERE IS A PLACE TO HIDE YOUR CARGO COVER UNDER THE FLOOR. I HATE TO GET OUT OF IT.
I am impressed with the storage room under the bottom of this Santa Fe, I missed this at the dealership, time to take another look and the price is really convenient, time to lower your prices, Chevrolet and Ford

Outstanding video, you guys hit all the points, one of the best I have seen on here reviewing a vehicle. I can say you have helped with my decision on purchasing this car. Kudos to you both!! How do I find the link on operating the infotainment system?
The Santa Fe is an excellent vehicle, especially for those for whom a compact SUV is a bit too small and most three row midsize crossovers are too large and have a third row of seats that are neither needed nor wanted. I'm repeatedly surprised, though, that so few reviewers seem to recognize how similar the Santa Fe and the KIA Sorento are. In fact, if the Palisade and Telluride are at least fraternal twins the Santa Fe and Sorento are step-siblings. The shared list of shared components, features, and dimensions is a long one. Almost identical lengths, the Sorento is 189" and the Santa Fe is 187.8" and Nearly identical wheelbases (108.9" for the Santa Fe; 109.4" for the Sorento.) Each falls in the "tweener" class (188"-192") in length between compact and larger midsize SUV's along with the Ford Edge, Nissan Murano, Honda Pathfinder, Subaru Outback, and others. Same AWD systems. Same eight speed transmissions. Very similar switchgear from the same parts bins in the same locations. Same infotainment systems though the screen placements differ. Exactly the same interior cargo space. Exactly the same passenger space in the first two rows. In short, anyone familiar with either vehicle will feel at home in the other. At the same time, though, the list of differences are short but significant. The base engines are identical but the "performance" engines differ. The Santa Fe uses the same turbocharged 4 cylinder mill that was dropped from the KIA in 2018 and is the base engine in the KIA Stinger. The KIA offers a naturally aspirated 3.3L V6. (The same engine used in the KIA Stinger GT in a twin scroll turbo configuration.) Personally, I prefer the KIA's V6 especially considering that the weight difference in the top trim vehicles is only 64 lbs (4101 vs 4063.) In a vehicle with a curb weight over two tons (and even more when loaded with fuel, a maximum number of passengers, and luggage/gear) physics is physics and I'm inclined to believe a NA V6 is more durable than a turbo 4. The other biggest difference, of course, is that the Sorento offers a third row of seats. The two row version of the Sorento was dropped in 2018 shortly before the current Santa Fe replaced the Santa Fe Sport (and the older Santa Fe became the Santa Fe XL). The underfloor cargo space in the Santa Fe is occupied by the third seat row when it's stowed. If one doesn't need the additional seating the Santa Fe's extra storage is convenient but it's worth noting that it can be accessed only if the cargo space above it is empty thus limiting its utility. Whether the Sorento's third row is worthwhile depends on one's needs. It's actually surprisingly accommodating even for a couple of adults for local trips and is VERY convenient when there's a need for more than five passengers and the option is taking two vehicles. The Santa Fe received a major update more recently than the Sortento so there are several smaller differences. The Santa Fe has a digital cockpit in the top trims lacking in the Sorento though for the most part the information provided is the same in both vehicles. The 2020 Santa Fe has the lane change camera views found in the Telluride and Palisade. It will be interesting to see if they're available in the 2020 Sorento. The Santa Fe introduced an excellent notification system if a child or pet is left in a closed car. That system is in the Telluride and the Palisade and I strongly suspect it will be added to the Sorento in 2020. If it saves a single infant's life it will be worth it. Not to mention the hundreds (or thousands) of pets who die each year locked in overheated vehicles. The Santa Fe also has a lockout feature for driver side doors if a camera detects oncoming traffic. Another valuable feature that may show up in the next Sorento. Overall, the Santa Fe and Sorento are aimed at somewhat different market segments despite their similarities. The Santa Fe is priced and marketed as a larger alternative to compact crossovers like the CR-V and Rav4. The Sorento is a smaller more convenient size three row crossover. One might think the Sorento's sales would be impacted by the Telluride and there seems to be some evidence of that in the last three months but sales continue to be relatively strong. Whether the Santa Fe will suffer in sales with the availability of the Palisade seems less likely but time will tell. Personally I prefer the Sorento for its V6 and occasional use third row seating. And in the top trim SX-L the materials (e.g. Nappa leather) are somewhat more premium than in the comparable "Ultimate" Santa Fe. But others will differ and I can understand that. In any event, they're each an excellent choice among the "Goldilocks" crossover size.
I love the Hyundai Santa Fe, it’s very sexy and nice! My momma wants the Hyundai palisades!!! I love the blind view monitors!! I love y’all sunglasses and shoes!!
They should put 2 exhaust pipe , like it was on hyundai santa fe 2007 (one on the left , one on the right) and the car can look much better and sporty.
I think you sold me on the Limited, although I may step down a class. My wife drives a 2018 Murano, so I'm interested in seeing how this compares to the Murano.
These new Hyundai models are looking really nice!! The only thing I don’t get is the turn signals so low in the rear bumper same as the QX 80, would look so much better in the actual rear Taillight housing.
The Santa Fe is a great vehicle but I'm seriously turned off by the placement of the rear turn signals. Not only are they more vulnerable to a minor parking lot fender bender, I think the placement is far more likely to be ignored by a driver behind the vehicle, especially when the lights above appear to be turn signals.
Purchased 11/15/19 a 2020 SEL +convience +premium, purchased in Florida with a sales tax of 7%, paid 30,750 "out the door" taxes, tag, dealer fees included. Good luck everyone, get a better deal than me but try not and pay more.
@@gene978 I leased a 2016 Ford Edge then went to the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited. I couldn't agree with you more. I did feel that the Ford Edge was comfortable to ride in and I liked the more horsepower in the Edge but I much prefer the Santa Fe with all the advanced features, beautiful interior color (I have the black/beige) and comfortable ride. I own the 2020 Limited now and LOVE it.
Just traded in my 2018 Tucson for the 2020 Santa Fe limited as I needed more space. I'm super excited and was SO thrilled to find a review from you guys! Any idea how to get the back seats to slide forwards and backwards? Neither the salesman nor myself could find a lever or button to do so. Also a little bummed that the glove box isn't lit, but those are the only complaints!
@@CarConfections Sea Storm Blue. Absolutely gorgeous - especially when the light hits the body lines at different angles. Drives like a dream and everything works flawlessly!
Jose Arambula if you dont mind, could you mind sharing your gas milage? Im interested in purchasing this car but worried about its bad fuel efficiency.
At the end after we had already filmed, we found a piece of foam that was supposed to have been removed behind the door. That was what caused to squeak, so no worries there!
I will never quite understand why SUVs have started placing the reverse and indicator lights on the bumper of their vehicles. I see it here and on the Kia sportage. Any small bump and your light is broken.
Hey, are you from KY? I was just at Gates this weekend looking at a Santa Fe, and was doing some more research on it online and happened to find your video haha
Haven't been in the new 2021 yet, but there are pictures online. It depends on if you like the new exterior looks, updated interior design, or if you wanted a hybrid model which will be offered for the first time
The engine sounds really loud! Is that typical for this model of car?? I like the car a lot and am in the market for another car, but that engine noise gives me pause.
Thanks! And yes, the Santa Fe is certainly something to consider over a CR-V since it is a larger vehicle and cost the same if not even less. In certain ways it is has more features and luxury so make sure to take them both out for a drive
Which car you will go for as long run liability vehicle? Acura RDX or Hyundai Sante Fe ? I’m at last stage of shopping around, I’m a mom with two kids, taking them around for classes, so I need good cargo space but also want a bit luxury feel to it. What’s a good buy? If find another strong opponent vs. Sante Fe, which one you will recommend? Thank you!
I have one glaring dislike for the Limited. In fact, it's a hate. At night, the headlights cast a triangular shadow onto the ground. This is not normal. The shadows are a psychological distraction for which Hyundai really screwed up.
That would be a bargain, it has paddle shifters, a turbo and it is fully loaded for $31,000 instead of the stinger. Can you please test drive it to see if it would be your next car and post it on TH-cam so we can see
My ONLY complaint with mine is that the non-LED headlights are not strong or bright enough, and because of their location are very hard to replace. My 2010 acura rdx had significantly better projector beam headlights as standard that were bright blue/white tint and reached very far. If youre used to something like that, it’s hard to transition to something worse.
How many additional inches does the driver's thigh extension give the driver ? I could not tell when you showed this feature whether you extended it all the way or not. So many driver's seat bottom cushions are too short and a thigh extender or additional thigh support is critical for comfort on longer drives.
I am 6' 3". When I get the seat where it feels comfortable (raised), it seems like I am staring right at the visor. I also feel like front visibility is somewhat hampered by the read view mirror and front facing safety cameras/equipment. Perhaps the issue relates to the angle of the windshield? Anyone else experience this? BTW, it seems like the Subaru Forester does not have that issue. But it is no where near the same vehicle as the Santa Fe. Replies appreciated.
I just test drove the 2020 and did not notice the issues that you mentioned. I am 5' 11" but like to drive with the seat as high as I can get it without my head hitting the roof. Normally I drive a 2018 Honda Accord which has a definite angled windshield so maybe that is why I had no problem with the Santa Fe windshield.
I’m equally concerned how easily the headlights and rear turn signals could be kicked out. I think the low position of the rear turn signals might be less visible to high profile traffic than it should be. Those DRL slots easily could fit some beautiful LED or laser headlights.
I need strong advice on deciding to get my new vehicle for my family. Want list: good cargo space, quiet cabin, responsive engine, good fuel mileage, spacious front, and rear seats and a bit luxury feel comfort ride. I have test driven many cars, now has narrowed down to Acura Rdx with the technology package, VW Tiguan Sel, and Hyundai Sante Fe Ulitmate 2.0T. Which one is the best buy for the money? thank you!
Well first of all, we haven't driven/ reviewed the VW Tiguan... However we have spent extensive time in the Santa Fe and RDX. Both are really lovely vehicles that I honestly think would fulfill the requirements you just said. The biggest differentiators will be that A) the Acura is a luxury vehicle with more luxurious cabin, and B) the Santa Fe has discounts which should bring the price to be significantly lower than the Acura or the VW. Hopefully this helps you somewhat 🙂
Gibby Hikes get a santa fe, you wont regret it. What are your concerns about the santa fe? I didnt strongly consider a rav4 because a similarly equipped rav4 to my sel plus wouldve cost 34k with no real deals/incentives, and mine was 28k after deals.
Jake Stoler Yeah I’m pretty much sold on the Santa Fe SEL Plus AWD. The one hesitation was Toyota’s reliability reputation but the Hyundai 10yr Powertrain warranty offsets that. TrueCar has the market price at 29,300.
Gibby Hikes that would be pretty good for the 2020, I bet you could get a ‘19 for even less at the dealerships, especially in a month or two when they’re really trying to make room for all 2020 inventory. I think reliability will largely be the same as the Toyota, both have naturally aspirated engines and 8 speed transmissions so theoretically should last forever. Infotainment seems very easy to use and pretty basic stuff, which is great for reliability. The HVAC system has been excellent in 100+ degree days, cools down very quick, no issues there.
jdubdoubleu For 2020, ultimate trim is gone. The limited is now the top tier. In the 2019 models, the Ultimate had a heads-up display, 19inch rims, etc.
Why does Indonesia get the totally new redesigned santa fe and in the usa we still get this fuggly looking old styled one. Check it out on tafra channel.
I started doing my research for my end of year crossover purchase. I like the Santa Fe, but here are my negatives 1. Weak engine and poor fuel economy. I test drove the turbo last year and it was slow. 2. Bad MPGs 3. No dual exhaust 4. Headlights placement
Had exact same car too, but 2019. It was parked and got hit by a drunk driver. We’re replacing it with a 2020. Love this car. BTW, gas mileage is really better than advertised.

Thanks! Glad you found it helpful! Here is the link to our Tech Help video: th-cam.com/video/3HNSQOjTix8/w-d-xo.html
Great review as usual
Only thing that bugs my ocd is the 1 map pocket in the back seats. Lol
Buying a Santa Fe Highlander (Aussie top spec) in the next month or two. Can’t wait.
Wow - what a great review!
They should put 2 exhaust pipe , like it was on hyundai santa fe 2007 (one on the left , one on the right) and the car can look much better and sporty.
Thank you for including audio system sound check. 😉
I think you sold me on the Limited, although I may step down a class. My wife drives a 2018 Murano, so I'm interested in seeing how this compares to the Murano.
They’re pretty similar SUVs!
I love the review definitely subscribing to your page
Thanks! We appreciate that! 🙂👍
Traditional shifter . Thank God !
My next vehicle .
THOSE PUSH BUTTONS SUCK, I LIKE TO HANG ONTO MY SHIFTER; EVEN HAD FLOOR SHIFT IN CADDILACS.
Great video! Will you be reviewing its brother, the Kia Sorento, anytime soon?
Hopefully yes! We will be waiting for the 2020 version to head to dealers
Purchased 11/15/19 a 2020 SEL +convience +premium, purchased in Florida with a sales tax of 7%, paid 30,750 "out the door" taxes, tag, dealer fees included. Good luck everyone, get a better deal than me but try not and pay more.
Man, would LOVE to see a comparison between this amazing SUV versus the Ford Edge.
@@gene978 a lot more expensive too
@@gene978 I leased a 2016 Ford Edge then went to the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited.
Should my mom get the 2021 sel base model or the 2020 LIMITED our price range is $27,000 im leaning towards the 2020 Santa Fe limited awd
🤔 hmmm, I'm honestly not sure! Wish we could be more helpful! But anyways, congrats on your new Santa Fe! What color did you go with?
@@CarConfections Sea Storm Blue. Absolutely gorgeous - especially when the light hits the body lines at different angles. Drives like a dream and everything works flawlessly!
That's our favorite color as well, hence why we picked it to review! Congrats again! 🙂
On my 2019, there is a lever under the seat, very easy to find. Maybe they changed it on the 2020.
@@carguyeyedoc unfortunately it looks like they did.
I have a 14’ Santa Fe 2.0t and i think those look wayyyyy better then the 2020. Plus they need to make a V6 turbo.
Thank you gents for a great video..... looking at this vehicle right now.
Glad you enjoyed! 🙂
Really nice exterior styling with amazing backseat room. Good job guys! :D
love the video. can you please do a Ford F-150 review? I would love to see that
@Daniel Hernandez they compared it but didn't do a review on it by itself
@Daniel Hernandez not to be a bother😁, could you please send me the link to the video? I can't find it. Sorry😅
@Daniel Hernandez I found it thanks😁
Thanks for the cool video. Good luck, guys.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed!
I have the 2019 hyundai santa fe 2.0t Ultimate. I love it!
Jose Arambula if you dont mind, could you mind sharing your gas milage? Im interested in purchasing this car but worried about its bad fuel efficiency.
@@앨쓰 the fuel efficiency is very bad.Maybe because i got the turbo edition. Lol

Great Review
To each his own, but I don’t like the look of the front. Side view is nice. But the rear signal lights are ridiculously low. I hate that.
@5:01-5:02 did the door just squeak?!? If so I’m not shocked, typical Hyundai quality.
At the end after we had already filmed, we found a piece of foam that was supposed to have been removed behind the door. That was what caused to squeak, so no worries there!
When will Hyundai launch the fingerprint lock and ignition in Santa Fe?
Nice presentation.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed!
Apple Carplay and android auto were previously standard on all trims I believe
You’re right
I will never quite understand why SUVs have started placing the reverse and indicator lights on the bumper of their vehicles. I see it here and on the Kia sportage. Any small bump and your light is broken.
it seperates from the brake lights. tbh it is more noticeable.
Great review, but I have a question. Do the side mirrors tilt down when in reverse?
I think you can configure the Limited to do so
Car Confections Ok, thx for the reply
What are the major changes in the 2020 vs the 2019?
Hey, are you from KY? I was just at Gates this weekend looking at a Santa Fe, and was doing some more research on it online and happened to find your video haha
Yeah! That's hilarious
@@CarConfections Small world! Thanks for the review, neighbors, ha!
Quick question, do you think it's worth waiting for the 2021 model?
Haven't been in the new 2021 yet, but there are pictures online. It depends on if you like the new exterior looks, updated interior design, or if you wanted a hybrid model which will be offered for the first time
Good job bro'
I despise the vista roofs, but if you want Nav, you have to take it.
The engine sounds really loud! Is that typical for this model of car?? I like the car a lot and am in the market for another car, but that engine noise gives me pause.
can you compare this to the KIA Sorento ?
my wife and i will be getting our brand new santa fe this thursday!!!!!
Congrats!
Nice video
Hey guys! Great review as always!
Would you consider this model over the Honda CR v?
Thanks! And yes, the Santa Fe is certainly something to consider over a CR-V since it is a larger vehicle and cost the same if not even less. In certain ways it is has more features and luxury so make sure to take them both out for a drive
Hey guys. Check to see if the brand new car you bought comes with a spare tire. Mine didn’t.
Thank you!
Tai Ling Chang Santa Fe
I have one glaring dislike for the Limited. In fact, it's a hate. At night, the headlights cast a triangular shadow onto the ground. This is not normal. The shadows are a psychological distraction for which Hyundai really screwed up.
Drew please remember what I said about the sonata 2.0t limited
That would be a bargain, it has paddle shifters, a turbo and it is fully loaded for $31,000 instead of the stinger. Can you please test drive it to see if it would be your next car and post it on TH-cam so we can see
Very interested in checking out the all-new version for 2020, I think
Santa Fe with its Dynamax AWD system is ALL GOOD except for me its tires were too small in diameter.
Are you going to be at the L.A. Auto Show?
No, L.A is very far from where we live
My ONLY complaint with mine is that the non-LED headlights are not strong or bright enough, and because of their location are very hard to replace. My 2010 acura rdx had significantly better projector beam headlights as standard that were bright blue/white tint and reached very far. If youre used to something like that, it’s hard to transition to something worse.
pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease do a Hyundai SantaFe VS Honda Passport
How many additional inches does the driver's thigh extension give the driver ? I could not tell when you showed this feature whether you extended it all the way or not. So many driver's seat bottom cushions are too short and a thigh extender or additional thigh support is critical for comfort on longer drives.
To be honest, we have no idea of an actual measurement. But it definitely extends out a decent amount
Is there a spare tire?
The spare tire is outside under the floor in the back.
Am about to purchase this car but still in doubts between santafe and bmw x1 🤔
Hyundai needs to stop putting headlamps into the bumper. A little fender bender you lose important functions of your car.
Great point
Great point
That’s actually so true.
Yeah, Jeep tried that on the Cherokee but went back to the traditional layout.
Why make the screen bigger if the visual still has the same size image
My mom just took home her 2020 santa fe sel but no garage door opener button.... help!!
I’m torn between the Santa Fe and the RAV4. It seems like a tough decision to me
Gibby Hikes get a santa fe, you wont regret it.
The only time you’d wish it were a Toyota is the day you sell it. I think that is starting to fade with the Hyundai name.
I’m deciding now between the Santa Fe and the rav4 as well, did you go with the Santa Fe ? Did you like it !? You will help me a lot
What is the difference between ultimate and limited trims?
jdubdoubleu For 2020, ultimate trim is gone. The limited is now the top tier. In the 2019 models, the Ultimate had a heads-up display, 19inch rims, etc.
Confused between this and Palisade
It's an Amazing Vehicle. I just did a review on it also. 👍
The only stupid thing i dont like about Santa Fe is low indicator lights Specially backside...
Why does Indonesia get the totally new redesigned santa fe and in the usa we still get this fuggly looking old styled one. Check it out on tafra channel.
I started doing my research for my end of year crossover purchase. I like the Santa Fe, but here are my negatives
1. Weak engine and poor fuel economy. I test drove the turbo last year and it was slow.
2. Bad MPGs
3. No dual exhaust
4. Headlights placement
Yes, the Hyundai and Kia exhausts are trash. I don't know what they are thinking going to the single side pipes. Looks terrible.
So what car did you settle on instead of the sante fe?
@@dlisch cx5, love it, sporty, comfy, premium. Wife thinks is a bit small, but I like small vehicles.
