searching is one of those songs that i would never listen to on its own but within the context of the album and the tetrachromacy suite i find it perfectly builds to the catharsis you feel during the fourth colour. polygondwanaland is one of only a few albums ive heard that i genuinely think is note-for-note 100% perfect, and im still hearing new things occasionally after over 100 listens. keep up the gizz reactions!!!
Great review, King Gizzard are my favorite band, I just got "The Silver Cord" extended version, I love it! It's like a rave in outer space, good luck on your King Gizzard journey, trust me it's a trip! Thanks for sharing, Peace!
just discovered ya, hope yr doing ok, looking forward for more reactions, I love your pacing of reacts between most of the reactionists, have a great day ❤
Mild High Life made an album with King Gizz, they gave us the extraordinary stunningly unique jazzy and chill mixtures of sound known to mortals as “Sketches Of Brunswick East”
Love your explorations into Gizz! I wish you could adjust your volume between your comments and the music for the next one 🙏 but I’m sure you noticed that too. Also wanna say I really appreciate seeing another woman reacting to and liking Gizz 💕 Much love from Sweden! Gonna see them in Berlin and Hamburg in May 🤩
Stu and Joey both like to do a bit of throat singing and there is some on this album, murder of the universe, petrodragonic apocalypse, and probably some other stuff im not immediately thinking about
If you like heavy prog concept album weirdness with spoken word segments listen to Murder of the Universe. If you like bassline heavy jazzy prog check out Sketches of Brunswick East.
This album didnt really click for me until a few days ago. I knew why people loved it, but I just didnt care about it until recently. I listened to the whole album with my eyes closed basically the whole time, which is something I basically never do, and I just love this album so much more. I also turned off my lights when the ambient section of The Fourth Color came on (and closed my eyes again) and I think thats the first time a piece of music made me feel scared. It was incredible. Other than Nonagon and the 2022 albums (and this album [and Quarters and Petro since you mentioned them here]), I'm not sure which Gizz albums you've heard. I do recommend the microtonal trilogy much like others are doing. I also recommend listening to Butterfly 3000 if you haven't already, its kind of a synth pop-prog successor to this album, and its just a lot of fun.
I love this Album. But my favorite album of them is PetroDragonic Apocalypse; Or, Dawn Of Eternal Night: An Annihilation Of Planet Earth And The Beginning Of Merciless Damnation.
Polygondwanaland is not exactly "one big song" like Nonagon, is more like Crumbling Castle by one side and 3 suites by the other, each one 3 songs long, that's why Deserted Dunes and Horology aren't continuated for their next songs If you didn't listen their microtonal albums that is a must, you can start with Flying Microtonal Banana, it's from 2017 like Poly
This album will definitely grow on you with more listens. If you haven’t heard their microtonal albums, do them in order.
I think I’m gonna do those ones next, thank you!!

Good call with the Yes - Fragile reference, Joey one of the main guitarist is a big fan of Yes
Stu and Joey both like to do a bit of throat singing and there is some on this album, murder of the universe, petrodragonic apocalypse, and probably some other stuff im not immediately thinking about

Thank you so much for the recommendations! I’ve heard all the albums you mentioned, Oddments and Paper Mache and that’s it! 🖤
@@marysmusictaste Good to know! Oddments and Paper Mache are some of my favorites.

If you like Owl city stuffs then you should try "Give up" by The Postal Service. Adam Young admitted he is a big fan of Ben Gibbard :)
