    The zombie bots play as an extremely efficient team. At the start, certain zones are randomly assigned as "powerful" zones, and others as "weak" zones. The weak zones donate tons of troops from the very start to the powerful zones so that they can expand as fast as players but still not lose their troop count. That's why there are easy bots for you to take out once you start expanding. The black team essentially sacrifices about 2/3 of their players to ensure you are totally screwed by the other 1/3.

    You say no one knows what to do, but the strategy is tandem attacks. No single player would have the ability to attack a powerful area, but 2 players attacking simultaneously works very well.

    I practiced for an hour off-camera and managed to get one win. It just came down to getting lucky enough to get a lobby with more good players in it than bad players. I spawned with a huge group of people, expanded using 25% sends once a cycle, then waited for red interest before each attack. Once I got land-locked in by my teammates, I donated troops forward to ally players who were near the biggest enemy bot and used emotes to encourage them to attack the strongest bots to prevent it from getting huge and taking over the map.
    TLDR: spawn with team, play patiently, donate troops intelligently if you're blocked off, hope your team doesn't suck, hope your team doesn't suck, hope your team doesn't suck...

    Howdy any new folks who stumble into this video, Zombie mode has been slightly changed, as in it's a lot harder to tell which bots are supposed to be the 'hard' bots, and which one the fodder bots. Therefor, compleeetely useless to have buffer countries at this point. Here's the strat I'm using to get wins, and you only need 4 other good players to pull through! (even if there are 20 players that feed the enemy bots (I was surrounded by teammates that fed the enemy bots))
    When you first start off, just as CG does, patiently expand at the 25%-30% send every cycle. Then after that, *do not wait for red interest*, instead, drop to 5-10%, and patiently attack any bot who has 99 or less troops. *make sure you only attack one bot at a time*, as it's crucial that you keep your own unit count high, to act as a barricade against the enemies.
    In a nutshell, from what I've noticed:
    Less than 15K once you've completed expansion: you die.
    Less than 40K early game: you die.
    Less than 80K early-ish game: (this is right after the overextended players get fully gobbled up) you die.
    Less than 200K semi-mid game: You're going to get mauled. *but don't leave yet!* Landlocked AI such as [Bot] Joe will save your ass half of the time! So stay defensive, and make sure you only attack bots that have less than 500 units in their base, *one at a time!*
    200-500K sem-mid game: You can play a bit more aggressive, but mainly focus on saving your allies' back, because the AI that are fighting them are distracted, and are easy pickings. Try to stay at around 1-2 bots that you're attacking at a time.
    Once you reach 500K: You can start taking on two or three bots at a time, as long as they're under 999 units.
    Once you reach 1M: You can start the endgame. Make sure you stay above 800K when sending, or else the bots can decide to cluster all their forces into one nation and reverse steamroll you.
    If you have at least 4 other players playing *roughly* the same way, regardless of the amount of bad players, you're bound to win. HOWEVER! It's also crucial to pick the right spawn location, and this is where you still *need* the bad players, even if they act as a temporary buffer. You want to space yourself a medium sized distance away from one, or preferably two players in a triangle shape. By medium distance, I mean precisely ONE enemy bot in between you and them. In my practice sessions with bots I've found that every time I've done it, it's resulted in an amazing early game, where you can cover the bots, and the bots can cover you. Using this strat, I generally win singleplayer 9/10 times. Multiplayer is a bit more tricky because of the bad players, however the main idea is that the bots focus is split between you and your allies. This would allow you to take *immediate* action the moment a bot sends on your ally, claiming their land, as well as stopping that bot from being able to follow up on that attack by getting help from others.
    It's also key not to all spawn as a group, having 2-3 clusters is highly beneficial, which could mean you intentionally spawn yourself next to two AI.
    Landlocking AI is probably a good idea, but only, and I really mean, ONLY do it if you can *afford* to do it. This includes your spawn location, don't try and forcefully spawn yourself in rough terrain just to land lock an AI, they generally won't be able to help you with supplies until around 2 minutes has passed. (semi-mid game)

    Waiting for red interest doesn't work so well because the bots are sending support around the map as well.
    It doesn't always trigger super hard, but you definitely notice it when you are in the position the entire bot army seems to focus on supporting. In the mountains map i spawned in the "cut off valley" with 4 bots and myself, no way to get in or out... I thought It woudl be fine, I took more land than the super-bot, ate the little bots, and then at 61 seconds the enemy bot suddenly went from 100K to 500K and ate me.
    Don't wait, the bots feed. The overall map control % is the most important thing in this mode I think.

    • @TheNeilBlack
      @TheNeilBlack 2 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Overall map control percentage is so important in this mode. I try to focus on helping my neighbors secure our local region of the map to get that chunk of the map for my team, and hope other areas of the map manage to do the same.
      I really think CG is shooting himself in the foot by playing patient in the early-mid game and not helping his team grind down the nearby big bots.

    I remember finally winning and defeating against zombie bots in a world map. I began by spawning on Iceland, and made my way across Greenland. The bots were easy to defeat. I then proceed to expand onto the Canadian islands, and then finally onto the North American mainland and I eventually won.
    So, I recommend spawning on a not-too-near island because bots rarely send their boats to islands except those nearby, so save up your troops and make your way slowly on mainland.

  • @0WN3RBogbat
    @0WN3RBogbat 2 ปีที่แล้ว +44

    I found out that you should always attack the zombie with the most Land. When you somewhere safe, just look at the leaderboard which zombie is at the top and send money to the surrounding allies.
    It also depends heavily on the map. The map with the island in the middle for example can be pretty easy when you safe the island and help the ones in the outer circle to fight around

    Its a teamwork game, when someone spawns with you and they're attacking big dudes you need too as well, if you all attack 1 big dude you will have troops left to defend from any smaller dudes. There might be some bad players but there are a lot of vets, you ran into like 3-4. If someone 'unlocks' a big dude and begins attacking him, you need to do the same. The game isn't about solo its about teamwork

  • @TheNeilBlack
    @TheNeilBlack 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    I saw myself in a couple of your games! That's always cool.
    I really do think the key to this game mode is early aggression. The map starts off with about four times more bots than humans, you NEED to make up some of that disparity before the bots get out of control. Work with your team to take down the stronger bots in your area until your local region of the map is fairly secure, THEN play patient and build up your troops. The problem is your team needs to do this in several places around the map so the zombies don't end up controlling three fourths of the land and donating all their troops to attack the few remaining humans. It's very difficult for a single player to have a significant impact on the team's performance by themselves.

    • @TheNeilBlack
      @TheNeilBlack 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Just wanted to add onto what I said. Try thinking of the entire zombie team as one enemy. The big strong bots seem to generate troops faster than the weak bots. This means that attacking the weak bots doesn't do very much damage to your enemy, while playing patient and letting the strong bots sit means your enemy builds up strength. So the playstyle you've developed revolves around not hurting the enemy very much while letting them build up big numbers of troops. Your current strategy for this game mode is better suited to the late game when the zombie expansion is at least somewhat under control.
      Early game you need to be more aggressive, and encourage your allies to join in that aggression. The strong bots can 1v1 most players early on so you need to convince a couple of teammates to help you gang up and take them down. Expand aggressively in the early game (although avoiding borders with too many strong bots is a good idea, of course), and try to make sure your team secures more land than the zombies. It's especially good to take land away from the strong bots.

  • @pokeface119

    The trick is to expand as fast as possible while using the least amount of units to do so. Sometimes its bad placement, other times its bad team mates, but more often than not it's people using 30%(20,000 out of 66,000 selected) to kill a territory that only has strength of 128 and it puts them at risk temporarily but enemies take advantage of it and they die.
    When I'm at 50,000 Strength or above, I usually have below 8% selected when generally expanding, only need around a couple thousand to take advantage of low strength territories.
    When I'm picking a fight, then I'll increase it.

    If you want to expand, be sure to protect every chunk of land you have. Losing 25% of your land is basically the same as losing because you lose about twice as many unit per pixels of land than losing land. So losing 27 pixels out say 200 can your 20k units to drop down to 15-16k units. So if a zombie takes a significant part of your land, You're just screwed. You would have a large portion of your units destroyed or transferred and can let the zombie more easily conquer you, creating an unstoppable chain reaction resulting in you losing all of your land.

    I’ve played zombie mode and basically the zombie Ai makes the zombies that can’t attack give troops to the zombies that can attack that’s why your gonna want to take out as many zombies as you can before the map is filled with no free space left

  • @BuckBlaziken
    @BuckBlaziken 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The AI uses a thing called “fear”, the more troops you have, the greater their fear increases. It determines how hesitant the AI is on attacking you. That way you rarely get AI that attacks you when they are extremely weak. Eventually they get so much fear that they will flat out refuse to invade you.

    I play the game in single player, two~six team, in very mode.
    In those mode that game is more touch then regular very easy.
    But I win for few time, your friend is too important, even they are robot or dirt. Because you need them to control the overall map condition, you need they give you a space to grow your force.
    And second, never two front, you can only deal one of the big emery. If there is no friend around you, you are meal.
    Friend will support the attacker(you or emery), so the small nation is also a power. When you are close to lose, eat more small nation as possible. Avoid the bigger one, even they are still eat you.
    For four team battle, keep the balance of emery, when green smaller, bigger the blue. The emery will fight each other.

    Waiting too long. Kill the weak ones as soon as possible. They are donating troops and the longer bots are left alive the worse the situation gets. Your objective needs to be to grab as much land as fast as possible. "buffer's" as you call it are a false hope all they do is mass donate to the monsters until the monster's donate to the frontline and steamroll someone.

    The problem with this mode is that this game is impossible to win in a normal mode. For example you could be doing well but the people around you can easily give someone elsethe advantage over you which all in all translates horribly to this mode cuz basically you have to learn not to expand. Speaking of which the learning curve in this game is a nightmare in general.

    you don’t work with the player’s interest. king kong benefits from taking out the guy that’s close to you, so weaken it enough for king kong to attack it. on the island that you spawned on take out the weaker of the three since you will still have more troops than the other two. regain troops and attack the next of the two remaining. just my opinion tho

    maybe try to weaken them more before you wait for interest??

    • @gabrielhenson5751
      @gabrielhenson5751 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, waiting only makes them stronger, they are going to feed each other so taking out weak ones to get their land and close yourself off from as many zombie territories as possible (pushing them out of say, the corner of the island you're on) seems super important

    Just expand a bit on your own, and then focus on just once you touch a zombie zone take it and don't do much expanding into the empty board.
    Then it becomes about if you can click fast enough to keep expanding into each zombie zone you touch as quickly as possible
