CORRECTION: went through the first part calling The World's End: 'At World's End'. Sorry, not sure how we managed that - perhaps we're both just desperate to get onto Pirates of the Caribbean asap. Fred
Would love to have see where baby driver would of gone in the rankings, personally maybe 1 or 2 like the writing isn't as tight as the other films but it has a soul to it.
Hey Benjamin it's J the host :) I know exactly what you mean. Baby driver feels like Wright went for something less self-aware and made something with style & charisma. The cornetto trilogy and Scott Pilgrim really do feel uniquely Wright though ... they have that rhythmic humour I can't see other filmmakers ever being able to emulate. I do love Baby Driver, but for me it would still have to leave the podium for (any order of...) Scott Pilgrim, Shaun of the Dead, and Hot Fuzz. What do you reckon? I'm thinking of watching his "Last Night in Soho" from a couple years back did you ever catch that one? J
@@MateNight Hey J I can agree with what you're saying. For me though, as a big music buff, a movie based on a music video made by Wright (Blue Song) and centred around music and sound is just so engaging to me personally. It's why I enjoy it so much-every single decibel feels intentional, and like Wright's other films, the more and more you watch, the better it gets. Scott Pilgrim, Shaun of the Dead, and Hot Fuzz I can agree being in the top 3, Scott Pilgrim for me is great I feel like its very underrated and I think its properly aged the best out of all of wrights films, but then the cornetto trilogy is just timeless classic (Total no British bias) With Last Night in Soho, visually his best looking movie but I found myself getting a bit lost in it especially towards the end I don't want to spoil anything so that all I will say, I would put it up with the worlds end properly ahead of it.
Ahaha absolutely no way I had no idea. That video is gold love Noel. I’ll remember it when I’m watching baby driver next surprising how similar he set it up but then I suppose that is wright all over. Yeah totally agree, think it’s one of those “today my favourite is…” because those three film are just golden. Such a shame The Worlds End didn’t complete the trilogy cleanly. Okay that’s interesting I’ll have a think about that when I catch it. If I do manage to watch it soon I’ll let you know down here ha. Good chatting with you mate 👍👍
