Keep in mind the look of the plated weapons sucks but those are needed as part of a collection to unlock the machine weapons, a wayyyy better looking version.

I started in December amd went straight into path of fire, end of dragons, lw4 and now SoO but couple weeks ago they had return to lw2 and it gave me a reason to explore dry top, and back to silverwaste which is a place I already farmed often as it’s very active but it made me appreciate these older areas and explore them. It’s hard to get motivated to play the older content when your a newer player but these return events is well worth grinding now it’s HoT which I haven’t played much of but I’m going to do dailies and explore along the way for achievements. I found many good farm squads and was able to join in at the end of one meta and it’s like close to 20 grand chests. I have plenty of gold but it’s still worth doing this for daily mystics and active farming going on
hell yeah dude. HOT still has some of the most popular and profitable meta events to this day as well! sounds like that might have been octovine you did with all those chests at the end. that meta actually has gotten even more profitable since SOTO release because the price of ectoplasm you get from the rare gear has like tripled in price 😎
Plated weapons can get you provisioned tokens.

It’s early in the morning here. got confused with reclaimed metal plate.
The plated weapons can be used to make Machined weapons.
Depending on the Ellite specialization, it can get you an ascended weapon.
Additionally you can get a seat selectable ascended weapon crate by completing the Machined achievement which requires the plated weapon.
If you don’t already have the Machined weapons achievement, you can save your reclaimed metal plates for provisioned tokens and take advantage of the free plated weapons.

Hi ! I just redownloaded the game after way too many years without playing. Ended in the middle of Path of Fire expac, had a Spellbreaker and a Scourge lvl 80. I was wondering if the last 2 xpacs are THAT mandatory to enjoy endgame right now or not ?
I would not say they are mandatory no. It just depends on what content you want to do, the beauty of this game is all expansions remain relevant, theres always reasons for players to come back to old content. The most recent expansion (SOTO) is definitely the most current but the one before that (EOD) still has so much fantasitc endgame content like generation 3 legendary crafting, story, profitable meta events, strike missions n shit. SOTO has legendary armor you can get from open world PVE farming, more strike missions, whatever you want to do you should get that expansion.
if you just have no clue what you want to do Id say just keep going through path of fire and the story in order until you discover something you want from an expansion then you can skip to that expac if you want :)
