I grew to love them but the Ito-Igawa junipers have caused me a lot of stress as they are infested with Juniper Scale to the point the stems turn completely yellow. Horticultural oil hasn't worked, hopefully the systemic Imidacloprid will do the job. Are you a nursery or are those just your own private plants?

I really like the look of Skeeter's Broom and Twombly's Red Sentinel, but I only have room for one. Is there a reason to chose one over the other? To my eye they look identical.
Complete different trees. Amagi shigure has far more attractive red pink color in spring and in summer it turns almost a black green. The growth habit of the Amagi is smaller than Purple Ghost. I love both trees. Amagi looks best if you keep its height under 6 feet so you look straight ahead at the leaves. If the tree gets over your head the color is not very impressive.

Do you think it’s ok for me to keep a Purples Ghost or Amber Ghost in a pot for 20 years and trim it to 6-ft tall and 3 ft wide? The one I saw next to your pond in the trimming video seems fairly wide. Also, I’m not exactly clear the matured heights of JMs in PNW when labels would say a tree like Geisha Gone Wild or Mikawa will be 6 ft in 10 years. Do you know if that means it’s a linear growth projection of 6 ft per 10 years, resulting in 18 ft in 30 years?
When i google Otaki JM, all posts lead to large leaf, full moon maples. What other name might i look for when searching your variety at my local nursury?

Correct, it is Acer japonicum 'Otaki'. The cultivar that I have taken the most amount of, due to its amazing fall color. That tree just was sold this weekend and will be moved in fall.

depends on the size and shape of tree. Fireglow is great so is beni Otake then there is a whole slew of other great ones

What medium do you use for pots vs in ground
I use woodchips and compost with pumice in the pots and in the ground I do nothing
