Donna Summer started her career in the Netherlands. And also signed her first recording contract in the Netherlands. She lived in Germany at the time and was married to an Austrian. Just search on TH-cam at 'Van Oekel's Discohoek: Donna Summer -The Hostage' in 1974. Years later, just before her death, she was interviewed by Leo Blokhuis in New York, a Dutch pop journalist from, among others, the TH-cam channel 'Top 2000 a gogo'. Then she started talking about it herself. This recording made a great impression on her. In 1975, Donna Summer returned to the States.

After auditioning for the musical Hair in NYC, She was also in the original German cast of the musical Hair in Munich in 1968 playing the role of Sheila. There are a couple of videos out there of her in that production.

@@garylife5320 Had heard something like that before. I'll look this up. I have 2 of her CDs myself. the one from 1989 is especially beautiful, 'Another Place and Time'. Especially uptempo songs

Sorry, but I've never been there. I can't get myself to go into that concrete box! There were also 3x Metallica concerts. My favorite band, I had to let it go. Because that stadium NEVER! We regularly go to the Ziggo Dome. Next door, with an overnight stay in the Jass hotel next door. But then I always book a room that doesn't face that ugly thing. FR forever.
