Was it a Sasquatch in Pictou County, NS? (Bigfoot Sighting)

- In 2015, When I first launched Nighttime, One of the first requests I made to listeners was for story ideas that took place in, or in some way involved, the forest.
The first response I received, lead me to this episodes story.
Myles MacKenzie sent me an email sharing the story of an animal encounter he and some high school friends had in the woods of Pictou County Nova Scotia.
Actually, "Animal Encounter" is a bit of and understatement. Don't roll your eyes before you hear the story but, Myles and his friends, they believe they encountered the legendary Bigfoot.
It happened back in 2003, when Myles and a few members of his track team were running sprints in the dense woods of the Green hill provincial park.
Whatever the group encountered, it wasn't like anything they nor their coach had experienced before or since. Nor was nothing they would ever forget.
Tonight in this episode of Nighttime, we will be joined by both Myles MacKenzie as well as his high school track coach, his father Stephen MacKenzie.
Our Topic, will be Pictou County's surprising history, with Bigfoot.

I actually live on dan fraser road where the greenhill provincial park is located and my grandmother was getting the dogs in late at night one day and she heard a loud growl or snarl come from the treeline it has only happend the once but there wasent something she could ever find that matched the sound of what she had heard she also had grown up in the woods and knows the sounds of most animals

Yes I have had a few weird things happen over the years, never a sighting however.
That day in Hubley I was staining a log cabin and garage, just finishing up the rear left side of
the double car garage in particular. I parked my truck in the owner's spot next to some woods that
sits in between the two homes. Something hit my leg twice while I was digging through the bed of
the truck so I stopped and walked into the woods just to see if anyone was around. Then a third
object landed at my feet, a pebble I think...lots of stuff on the ground at that time so I couldn't
determine what the object was, same for the first two. No neighbors anywhere, no noise at all in
fact, I didn't realize the no sound thing until after I got home.
So I leave that area and head across the way to the garage. I am sitting up on an aframe ladder with
my left arm resting on the roof line when all of a sudden something slapped the opposite side of the
garage so hard that I nearly fell off the ladder. I sat there poised to jump onto the roof if I
heard anything move on the gravel that surrounded the building by over ten feet out from the walls
to the woods. I didn't hear anything move. I sat up on the ladder debating whether or not to get
down and check around the corner. I finally did, I walked around the front as it had a slab of
concrete which would make my approach quieter than the gravel if I went around the rear way. I got
to the corner and got enough nerve to peek around the corner and there wasn't anything there. I had
a couple of helpers with me for the previous two weeks and that day I decided I would go off on my
own to the work, I wish I had brought them that day lol. Anyways, that's that incident.
There are lots of stories of them being here, some early sightings too, Cole Harbour in the 1800's,
Berwick, Uniacke Museum Park, North or South Mountain - not sure which one but the guys' name is Leo
Frank, there are several hours of his encounters on his farm. Keji, I have had a few things happen
there, tree breaks etc. I recently met a guy when I was working doing lost luggage air cargo
deliveries who moved here from BC and he is having issues on his property in Bear River. He
actually has a large bigfoot cutout sitting on a hill next to his driveway which scared the living
daylights out of me as I was listening to some bigfoot or cryptid podcast loL! I sat and talked
with him and I plan on going back out there the next time I head that way.
Dogmen are also here, they get seen around graveyards at night. There is a dogmen sighting interview
of a guy from Nova Scotia, it might have been on sasquatchronicles.

@@Barnes466 interesting !! i used to live in british columbia but never was lucky enough to experience anything. i do have a freind who has lived out there his whole life and is an avid hunter. while he and a freind were hunting in alberta they had quite an encounter. thanks for taking the time to respond i will be doing a bit more research into bigfoot sightings in the maritimes.

I experienced the same thing in the mountains of Tennessee one January night. I've never heard anything like it before or since. People...... Bigfoot is real!
