Well, he was good in this & Barbara Stanwyick rules!!! The timeshe demands to be kissed on the lips! I remembered it was absolutely gut wrenching when she explained what it was like growing old & still being in need of passion & love on the inside. Now that I too, am old. I am more torn & feel it to the bones. I have often wondered if Ms. Stanwyck drew from a resource from within to deliver those lines so beautifully...
I have a sinking feeling she did. 😔

Es gibt keine Worte, die beschreiben können, wie sehr dieser Film 🎥 mein Herz ❤️ berührt. Rachel Ward und Richard Chamberlain waren für mich das Traumpaar in den 80ern .
Auch heute fasziniert mich der Film mit seiner Geschichte, seinen Darstellern, seinen Achterbahnen der Gefühle und bringt mich zum Weinen 😢 . Warum? Weil der Film wie das Buch mir zeigen, dass das Leben erst lebenswert wird, wenn man lieben kann und noch besser: Wenn man wieder geliebt wird. Man kann auf vieles in seinem Leben verzichten, aber nicht auf die Liebe 💘. Richard Chamberlain und Rachel Ward zeigen uns, dass es sich lohnt, für seine Liebe zu kämpfen und dafür zu sorgen, dass man für seine alles macht, dass sie liebenswert bleibt und dass keine Gedanken oder Ideen es rechtfertigen, eine Liebe zu zerstören. Das hat auch Richard Chamberlain am Ende des Films gemerkt, als er schwach und kraftlos in den Armen seiner geliebten Meggie stirbt.
Lasst uns wie die beiden Hauptprotagonisten des Films immer einen oder mehrere Menschen finden, die man lieben kann, damit der Thornbird uns immer wieder mit seiner Schönheit umgibt.

As a child I was obsessed with this now as an adult I see it for what is was grooming at its finest
