What is the difference between selling your stockpile and selling things around your house in a yard sale? You bought both in the store AND when you coupon, you get things for free but you work to get it AND the store still gets paid
Momo Senzații lmao this isnt outsmarting this is fucking illegal lmao, shes charging people prices way higher than what she got the products for. This is dumbing down the system and showcasing companies that coupon limitations should be on coupons.
Maegan Zofnas quite frankly I think she is being smart and making money from an easy outlet. the people who buy from her are the stupid ones, not her. she is doing good economics.
Literally every business sells product for more than they invested in it. It's called RETAIL. So long as you don't need a business permit, what she is doing is legal. If that were the case, then all these yard sales, flea markets, Ebay, Craigslist and Amazon all operating illegally.
I think this is awesome - I am a extreme couponer and I am doing the same thing when I have my next yard sale - I figure we work for all these deals we get so its our right to sell it - after all we do own it once we leave the store so its up to us what we do with it after that
What a person does with their stockpile is their own business just like anything else that belongs to someone. They take the time and do the work. They can do with it what they want. Nothing wrong with it she could donate the money after, you don't know.
You have had so many remarks about your yard sale. I think it's AWESOME!!! I am thinking about doing the same thing. Also going to sell some things on eBay. Like the comments said it's your product you should be able to do whatever you want with the products you buy. Your binders rock. I am still a newbie, but I am loving it.
Compounding is nerve-wrecking! I used to do it. Now I'm in the madhouse and have to pay for my hospital bill with my "savings ".....so you deserve every penny you worked so hard for!! You deserve it!
\All you haters are just jealous! I picked up couponing because of seeing things like this and trust me it's all not "FREE" it takes A lot of time and money to coupon! You need to pay for the news papers for coupons each sunday and the gas to get to stores and the sales tax! Also did you see her binders; it may look easy but its not, cutting out all the coupons and organizing them and planning your shopping trip is hard work! IF you bought some thing ANYTHING at the store on sale or not it is your right to sale it if you want to! Many people sell things on eBay, craigs list and yard sales etc. its the same dang thing! How about go out and do it yourself before you open your mouth and judge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mrs. Mom Next Door I totally agree! I heard it's kinda like a full time job. And I really wish I had time to devote to it but I work 12 hours a day 5 to 6 days a week. I'm a single mom and it would help out but I just can't find the time. It seems like alot of work and I envy those who do it. I have however been to a few stock pile sales and plan to continuing to go.
Dante dang If you hv ever had a yard sale, did you pay sales tax on what you sold? I think not. No matter how she pays for her items, no one can tell anyone else they cannot resell ANYTHING! There is no such thing as paying sales tax on a yard sale, no matter what is being sold.
I think the issue is that people get stuff for next to nothing, then they raise the price, and make a profit, if you sell the items for exactly what you paid for them, there shouldn't be an issue, its the profitability that is!
Couponing is easy but a lot of time consuming. But no one should have a problem with her selling stuff she bought. If they did there shouldn’t be no garage sales or good will! Their reselling stuff also. In my opinion.
That's a fair question. Anyone that can clip coupons and has the time can do this (depending on if it's allowed in your area), but the problem that people are overlooking is that she is liable for the stuff if something happens. But, if it makes someone sick and/or if there is a package with a broken seal she wouldn't be able to prove how it broke and if it's safe. For foods with no seal, no one knows if it has been tampered with or not if it's a product like macaroni.... how can she prove it was sold the way she bought it from the store and it has been stored properly like the way a real store would? She could easily get hit with a lawsuit. There are too many people out there that look for people like her just to start problems. She has good intentions, but in a legal standpoint, too much can go wrong. Most people aren't thinking about it like that, but those things are a possibility.
Hi 👋🏼 in 2023 is there any chance updates on Yard Lady? Is she still selling products in her yard? What about the customers, and who find deals on Craig Lists! Thank You 😊
Oh... if it doesn't say "not for resale" you can sell it. even if it does guess all second hand stores and yard sales better close/ be outlawed. What y'all think Sam's and Costco are for?!
Do I resell from my stockpile? No. Have I let a friend "shop" my stockpile for what they need and give me back about what I paid in tax (10% precoupon here), yes. But that is friend coming over to grab. A few things (aprox $50 retail, okay $5 should cover what I need to rebuy it) that sort of tying. But buying stuff JUST to resell it is not the intended use of coupons.
Don't know why people are complaining, this people put time in to coupon and sale it. The stores buy these products and sale them to US the consumers for way more then she is.
i agree! the show that TLC has Extreme Couponing has definately made all of the stores crack down on couponers! You should definately NOT create a stockpile for yourself so you can resale it! the coupons say that you CANNOT use coupons to buy products and then resale it! and what made it worse is that she decided to sell the products in a yard sale and publicise it on the news! really people!!! THIS IS WRONG!!!!
In Canada, it is illegal to purchase products using coupons and then turn around and sell them for profit! I think couponers who do this should be arrested and receive jail time! Its wrong! If you want to coupon for your family, friends, or to donate to the needy, God bless you but to coupon and turn it into a business is despicable! Coupons put out by manufacturers are not meant to provide employment for others!
The news person said it wrong when they said you could get the products at her prices without the hassle of clipping the coupons. The Stuff she is getting for cheap she is selling for double or triple the price. You’re saving money compared to the grocery store but you are definitely not getting the couponers price. Otherwise it wouldn’t be worth her time.
You may get the product for free BUT it's the time it took you to get everything ready to shop that we get our money for. People can save and use coupons like us, BUT more than half of them are lazy and still want it free or dirt cheap.
Now i know what happens when i go to the supermarket and find the shelves empty. She passed first! lol...btw i think it's illegal re-selling products for an higher price!!!
I agree that it should be donated to people that are in need! There are people that would appreciate it! So many are hungry and have no $ or way to feed themselves and their families. Give it to the needy please! If it were you in need you would want the same done for you!!!
It bothers me only because couponing has become a business. A business that doesn't have licenses, pay taxes, or anything else a traditional business owner has to do. But little kids get their lemonade stands closed down. It makes no sense. I admit that I'm not good at the whole couponing thing. If I were I would probably do it myself out of necessity but not to resell. Seems like alot of work and the people who are buying from stockpile sales really aren't saving much. In my area stockpile sale prices aren't any less than what I would pay for the same item on sale without a coupon. Like the body wash at 2.50. That's what my local grocery store charges. It's always on sale 2 for 5 dollars, sometimes 2 for 6 dollars. So for those prices I'd rather buy it at the grocery store and earn rebates or gas rewards.
Sorry, but I say, GOOD FOR HER. She's not out there stealing anything, she is looking for a way to make money. Maybe she can't find a job, and maybe this is her job. Ever hear of a telemarketer, much more annoying than someone selling groceries for a cheap price. I say go for it, it makes her money and saves other people money as well.
Where I am, this same thing came up. PPL were going around buying stuff for dirt cheap or buying those pallets of items and then having a "yard sale" or "garage sale" except they happened every weekend or every other weekend. The neighbors started to complain to the county that they could not enjoy being outside because they were over run with traffic of the sale. Not sure what the specifics are but I know they clamped down on that. And in this situation, I fully agree. They were infringing on someone else's peace and quite by running a business in their driveway.
I just started couponing and it's a real help to the family budget. But I will not be selling anything maybe giveaway but not selling. But I could never be lucky to know how to coupon like this! to people speaking on her selling stop having a jealous heart mind she is not stealing or harming anyone
This is actually against the law and in Massachusetts they are actually putting stickers on merchandise saying if you didn't buy it at the store it is illegal or if you see this item anywhere other than this store this item is illegal
Reading the comments : if I have extra items in my house and I need fast cash, I sell said items, unless you know for a fact that I used coupons to buy them. Yes it's clear she did, but not everyone who sells their stuff is a couponer. And that's why it's getting harder, companies just " assume" these items were bought that way and then sold at ys! If that makes since.
More power to her! But the only issue I have is if the item you bought from her is a dud (ex: shave cream dispenser is broken), an allergic reaction occurs OR if you later find yourself not liking the product (ex: mouthwash has a gross after taste)... these issues at a retail store can be easily taken care of with a return or exchange. But that's not the case with a stockpile sale.
Legal stuff in this video = You can resale anything you have bought personally that is not considered illegal or contraband ie: narcotics etc. Illegal stuff in this video = Not one thing without proof of the county or city she is in to see what local selling laws are on the books. Possibly illegal stuff in this video=1) Once you earn 1 penny over $400 in a year it becomes taxable income that is illegal not to report. There is no proof that she isnt paying taxes. 2) Brand infringement. A company cant do jack shit about her selling things purchased with coupons. If the business and manufacturer agreed to the final sale then they can do nothing to stop her from selling it even if the coupon said void if for resale. However the manufacturer can sue her civilly for infringement if she is advertising using the companies brand or logo on a website or signage. There is no proof of this happening in the video either. 3) Local laws/ ordinance about selling. Does she have a business license? Does she have a resellers permit? Are these required for her outdoor flea market in her local area. Again no proof in video one way or the other. 4) Harmful products. Since she is selling perishable goods and dangerous chemicals it is on her if someone gets injured or ill from consumption or use. This is neither legal nor illegal but she accepts the same liability us real retailers do when she sells anything to the public. Long story short. She is probably not doing what she is suppose to do but there is no proof here. And anyone crying foul from just this video is butt hurt and jealous simple as that.
doogyjay1 If the coupon says that it can’t be used for the purpose of reselling, then it is illegal to do so. But there is no proof that she has done this.
You often read about how some kid with a lemonade stand had to close it down because they didn't have a license. This may not be illegal, but I bet they still have to have a license in order to do it. In many towns you have to register just to have a yard sale and are limited to so many per year such as 4. I would consider this to fall under that same category. I would not even be surprised if the city expected the seller to report what they have sold as income to the IRS. They better keep records of how much they paid for everything they sell.
Celia Gorleski that was the same thing I said. I'm always hearing stories about little kids having their lemonade stands shut down because they don't have a business license. Couponers who have regular stockpile sales should have to have a business license and file taxes on their earnings. Because it is technically a business. There is a huge difference between holding a yard sale to resell items purchased for personal use and people who buy things that are worth alot of money that they came across for a dollar at a thrift store and sell it for what it's worth on eBay. That's totally different than purchasing 100 identical items with a coupon with the intent of selling it for profit.
madree p I read the fine print on a coupon today and it said that coupons could not be used to purchase items for resale. It also said that coupons could not be sold. So people selling their stockpiles at yard sales are breaking the law. I tried coupons about one time and got too stressed out. I prefer to use the rebate programs such as Ibotta and Checkout 51 and Walmart Savings Catcher. Currently I have over $100 in Savings Catcher to spend at Walmart which I plan to do on a trip I'll be taking this summer and I use it to buy my groceries. I've gotten over $70 back through Ibotta and I just recently started Checkout 51 but have almost reached the $20 I need for them to transfer it into my PayPal account. It's so much easier to deal with things after I have bought them instead of trying to find coupons before. There are other rebate sites but I haven't tried them out yet. Checkout 51 actually gives larger rebates then Ibotta but it's nice to be able to get money back for the same thing from two different sources. Ibotta even gives you $0.25 just for submitting a receipt about every other week. I would like to try the Target cartwheel but I don't shop at Target very often and I don't think about checking what their cartwheel offers are very often.
Neat idea I guess...I would probably donate some to a food bank or share with family first but its no different than a normal yard sale. Illegal? I dont think so.
Alicia Pedigo If I knew the secret of extreme couponing, I would do it that way. I would pick out stuff for myself first, and anything else, would go to a food pantry. I did go to my local Meijer store, where a lady did extreme couponing. She bought over $60 worth of stuff, and after redeeming all her coupons, she only paid $.74. Even the cashier never saw that before.
I do not know the specifics of what she is doing but who is to say she did not get friends or family members to help her buy or just make multiple trips per week. I do not see the problem. Companies are selling their products at a profit, stores are getting their money, she is getting a bargain and her neighbors are getting in a good deal. That is a bit much for me, however. I coupon but I give my stuff to family and neighbors, a bottle of shampoo here or a razor there.
Putting a stipulation on the coupon that says you can't resell the item is dumb once you leave the store how are they going to know what you did with the item
On eBay people sell coupons and they say you are not paying for the coupon you are paying for the time it took them to locate and get it together. It is not illegal.
I respect this lady's hustle lol

Wondering if there are no local laws where she lives. It’s quite common for cities to limit “yard sales” to two or three times a year.
Don’t the coupons expire??
Well said.
doogyjay1 If the coupon says that it can’t be used for the purpose of reselling, then it is illegal to do so. But there is no proof that she has done this.
I did this in college. Don that’s the hustle. Reselling is the best! Get it for free? Sell it for 100% profit .
R u still reselling?
ABC should advertise to donate for the storm.
I need to do this!!☺️☺️
i wish this can be done in canada
Neat idea I guess...I would probably donate some to a food bank or share with family first but its no different than a normal yard sale. Illegal? I dont think so.
Alicia Pedigo If I knew the secret of extreme couponing, I would do it that way. I would pick out stuff for myself first, and anything else, would go to a food pantry. I did go to my local Meijer store, where a lady did extreme couponing. She bought over $60 worth of stuff, and after redeeming all her coupons, she only paid $.74. Even the cashier never saw that before.
Does she pay taxes on profit?
How old is that food??
It's okay just look what people like her did to honest couponers. Get the p&g this coming weekend LIMIT OF 1 COUPON PER HOUSEHOLD PER DAY!
Sonia Patterson how do you know she didn't go daily to use the coupon one today what about different stores
Just go to different stores. They dont know. Lol.
Talk to the people at church get them to print your coupons.
This is a ingenious idea. Many people do this kind of selling online too. Good for her.
So they can just sell a bag and it doesn't matter if there's a gift inside the bag LOL.
If I buy a product I cant resell it
What happened to America
SOCIALISM / COMMUNISM / GLOBALIST!
BERNIE SANDERS
JOE BIDEN
OBAMA
THE LIST IS LONG. WOULD TAKE ME A WEEK MIN. to name most.
You misunderstand. Its speaking about the coupon. Not the merchandise once you’ve purchased.
Yoo its her fucking money and she can do whatever the heck she wants with it. Shes hustles in her own way and gets what she wants
Putting a stipulation on the coupon that says you can't resell the item is dumb once you leave the store how are they going to know what you did with the item
Yeah once you buy the product, its yours you can do whatever u want with it.
someone people are crazy and then some of us can't get what we need at the grocery store !!!
She should own a shop!
good for you and yours
People do the same now. They buy on clearance, and then sell online for more than the price they paid.
On eBay people sell coupons and they say you are not paying for the coupon you are paying for the time it took them to locate and get it together. It is not illegal.
BuyNew4Less yup
she's like Matilda's dad lol
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Best comment ever
Good job lady
Someone’s not paying taxes 🤔
president either and he is in office, at least she can show her taxes every year
Aneta How do you know? Did you watch her file her taxes?
Andrew M I say it’s not likely
Does she accept coupons at her sale???
Aha ha ha
No, only stores accept coupons
I always joked with my mom about doing this and holy shit this is legal!? :O
Very popular here in Hawaii. To sell stuff like this.
Don't you have to have a resale license? Im a couponer as well but I give my stockpile to friends and family.
Do y’all say (coup)on or (q)pon
Good on her. Smart lady.
isint it illegal to sell items you get with coupons????!!!!
I wish couponing is avail here in my country
I'm watching in uk....is this legal???
