Hi Roy. Film noir is a great choice, a load of superb films are in this genre. I recently watched The Killing for the first time and thought it was excellent. Double Indemnity is probably my favourite film noir. Too many to mention but I really love The Postman Always Rings Twice (with Lana Turner) and The Killers, starring Burt Lancaster and Ava Gardner.
@@thewickerman4083 hi, thanks very much. The Killers is fantastic. There is a 60s remake with Lee Marvin and Angie Dickinson that I keep meaning to check out.
Loved the cameo appearance by the cat! I'm not particularly drawn to film noir, though it's clear that for very many movie buffs, these films represent classic Hollywood at its best. I do love 'Key Largo', my favorite of the Bogart and Bacall features. 'Odd Man Out' from 1947 could be cited as an example of British noir, and that is an exceptional film by any standards. And if one calls 'Blade Runner' an example of noir (or more precisely, neo-noir), then another such film appears among my favorite movies of all time.
@barrymoore4470 hey Barry I've recently got a copy of Odd Man Out. I will move it up my pile on your recommendation. Cosmo the cat certainly likes to make an appearance
Awesome video Roy and thanks for the kind words bud 😊🙏🍿🎸🎶 Oh mate: I could of made a Hip Hop album the way I went on in that latest video; could of least made a Hip Hop tune out of one of those titles 😂👍 Glad you enjoyed it bud; Noir Cinema is something I definitely need to spend time with; some titles here I heard nothing but great things about; will have to try get a couple of these into the Sammy G collection 😎👍 Awesome stuff Roy; loving the Sinatra look btw and B&W filter; also the Cat making a cameo aswell 🐈 I watched ‘The Woman In The Window’ and thought that was excellent; keep up the excellent work Roy and fantastic video man; cheers again 😀🙏🍿🎸🎶
@samglendenning9884 ah thanks so much Sam 👍 Cosmo does like to get involved 😆 All them films are fantastic and there are so many more and many I still have to get to. ❤️
Hi Roy, Film Noir is one of those genres that i"ve not delved into much, but this year i have got into the gangster movies from the 30"s & 40"s a lot more which moved into Film Noir"s so i should give it a go, Lee Marvin was a great bad guy & "The Big Sleep" coffee pot scene 😮. Kermits Ghost (Alan) will be a great pick & fine gentleman in our community.
@eastwood4lifefan334 hello Carlos yes the coffee pot scene was the one I eluded to. It certainly made me wince 😲 Indeed Alan is a great guy. If I'm reading comments on anyone's videos he's always there with kind words Thumbs
Great video as always matey.. and yes I wouldn't worry about the video length as I think Sammy's was an exception.. most people and mine when I get around to it will be around the 10min mark lol
Fantastic video Roy! What a fun idea from your mates!👏 I love all genres although I don’t really like romance films…. My favorite genres are action, sci/fi and especially horror 👍
Great video Roy 👍🏻 I think nearest I get to this genre is probably the more modern day neo noirs like in the Imprint After Dark box sets 😀 👍🏻 great to hear ur thoughts as always mate 😁
Hi Roy, you really don’t need to be invited to do a tag video mate, if you see one you want to do….consider yourself tagged from now on 👍 I will try to get around to doing it mate, I’m off on holiday this coming Monday afternoon (after I’ve finished filming) and I’ll be gone for a week, there’s never enough hours in the day Roy 😁 Noir is a great choice (I once worked as a private detective for a company in Brighton called Aaron Associates, it wasn’t as glamorous as in the movies though 🤣) nice one mate, take care👍😃👍
@kermitsghost thanks Alan, no pressure at all 👍 Hope you have a great holiday 😀 I can imagine you being a good private detective. You have an analytical brain much suited for it. Hopefully you didn't have a bottle of bourbon in your top draw. 😉
@@roybarratt5609 thank Roy (for the holiday well wishes and intelligence comment 😉) nah, I’ve been teetotal for since I was around 20 years old, I prefer a cuppa 👍

I like film noir too… I just picked up “Blast of Silence” during the last Criterion sale, highly recommended if you haven’t seen it. Just subscribed 😎
@jarednotthesubwayguy6151 hi Jared 👋 thanks for subbing. No I haven't seen Blast of Silence. Thanks for that. I will add it to my list 👍
I'm showing my age but seeing you with that hat on I could only think of Harry Worth!

@XFile2708 thanks Marcus. I tease Sammy but I do like his long videos. Always full of knowledge. His singing on the other hand.......🤣
Not seen many at all from this genre so I’ve added a few to my watch list 👍
@@Tom_180 hi Tom. All great films and just scratching the surface of the genre 👍
Great video Roy, I really like film noir as well, some of my favourites are The Big Sleep, Chinatown and L.A Confidential

Yeah, a favourite genre of mine too. Got to love them femme fatales!

@popcornandhorror thanks Ash. Maybe something like Night of the Hunter would be a noir with horror overtones 👍

Great video mate 👍🏻 not a genre I have dipped my toe in much tbh
@stuartgeorge2324 thanks Stuart 👍 I can recommend all of those ones. I hadn't seen many until a few years ago.
A lot of great films in that list 👍. Since you like noir but don't like animation, where do you stand on Who Framed Roger Rabbit 🐰? 😁
Hi Steve I remember it being OK. It's years since we sat down as a family and watched it.
Well collected old bean
