- 40 metre tree removed due to an old lightning strike in Tecoma, Dandenong Ranges.
The tree had dropped several limbs, one narrowly missing people in the garden.
The client will be milling the wood to extend the house and more natives will be planted in its place.
Big thanks to the crew
Leroy on the lowering ropes
Dave Leat - second climber
Ash miller - grounds man
Dave Coleman - lead climber
As a Pacific Northwest climber for 30 years, beautiful work, my respect to you on your knowledge of roping, rigging and a well thought out removal. BUT without your ground crew you are nothing so if you do read this, you sir have a very skillful team.
Wow! This video is a runner!! Congrats on the viralness. Totally deserves it!
+August Hunicke Thanks again mate, yeah it's funny how some vids go off and some don't!
I wish I had good ropers like you do when I was doing tree work. They definitely keep you comfortable when they are not shaking the hell out of you. Good job!
Excellent job and very professional techniques, too bad all of the tree work posters on here did not watch and learn many things from this video. I have been doing tree work climbing tall redwoods and firs along with all other species including blue gum eucalyptus for over 35 years and have yet to see a video on here showing work as good as this climbers. Saw always clipped in, tied in at least two ways, double wrapping the limbs to be lowered! thumbs up mate.
I totally agree with you .
Excellent professional job .
Marti woodchip thank you sir. I have been trying to make the exact point. 90% of the other channels are amateur level climbing with professional level ego.
And here I am in Ohio and can't get a guy to climb a 50' White Pine...
Exquisite work, safety, knowledge of craft etc. I salute you!
Dave Coleman you've got balls brother! Nice job. 🤙
Awesome job guys, beautiful rigging. The ground guys are pros too, watching them run those pieces was a pleasure, they make the climber look good. Stay safe fellas.
You inspire me Dave, its a pleasure to watch you work thanks for sharing this with the world.
Thanks mate :)
Someone who dares to do this job.....very respectful with you....
Yes, please be respectful with their bodies.
This vedio makes my heart pulse more
Awesome video!
Very nice work. Careful, methodical, and the ground crew is definitely top notch.
Thank you 😊
Big work Dave nicely Done a real pleasure to watch, love the music track too.!
Jim
+Southern Tas Climbers Hey Jim, thanks mate. Love your part of the world, wouldn't mind doing a bit down your way :)
Beautiful angle video
Nice video! Ground guys did a great job as well.
You guys are so amazing!
This is the kind of thing people will watch in the future and think "back in the day they sure knew how to do it right". Great job guys
As opposed to what? A futuristic chainsaw or better technique to cut a tree down? 🤔🤔🤔
Great video!
Well done Dave.
Always makes me smile to see rope work so nicely done.
Thanks for the video and keep yourself safe.
Randy
+NHlocal Thanks Randy

Salute to greatness top class job done
Great video. Thumbs up.
I'm always in awe whenever someone shows such mastery of their craft. Absolutely insane.
I liked the way of cutting tree without harming surroundings..Risky job ..brave man though it's his profession..
If they pay me $3000 per hour...i still won't do it. He is a very brave man
I only need 300usd/ hour to do it
I do it for 40 an hour and love every minute. I even climb on my days off trying out new techniques and gear. I start to get very irritated when I havent had some saddle time for a few days
As always, text book rigging Dave. You make it look easy!
+Dan Hargrave cheers Dan :)
Just awesome. You guys got balls of steel. Greeting from 🇨🇦
This is amazing - I can't wait till you stay shooting videos like this in VR. :-)
I know it's an old tree but is a little sad to see it to falling down ☹︎ 🌳
But you man, you're such incredible
No cutting down trees is not the good job..
Pls don't encourage him doing such work..
It is very to see the dead body in cut piece ...
@@subbukiran8426 well having big old trees around houses is very dangerous because if the weather is bad then if the tree goes down it will take down many houses as well
@@vignesh8531 that tree is nilgiri ( Australian babul) which is very hard tough to fall down..
What those birds who live on their...
And dead trees could also be the best for birds...
True...
Awesome video and track
Awesome video pal, keep up the good work!
Congratulations!
Nice and clean work.
Salute!

+razerscraps Thank you
Trop fort. Super boulot 👍👍👍
Good groundies, it's great when someone know what they are doing on the end of the rope.

Your contribution to increase the global warming much appreciated.
This looks like a fun job for the people who love to climb trees. It saves a lot of money for the crane too.
+epSos.de You can't use a cranse to hoist people into the air for tree removal; that is just not safe nor allowed. You could use a boom lift, but those are not nearly as high as this. Climbing is the only real solution.
wildonemeister There are very high telescopic cranes, they are just a lot more expensive than a skillful climber, which is an advantage for people in this profession.
epSos.de I know there are high cranes, but as mentioned - cranes are not allowed to hoist (lift) people. A bucket lift (if you will) however is designed to do so. Finding one that goes 40m or even 70m in the air is however a challenge. Personally I'd still pick to do the climb even if you actually found one.
wildonemeister That is interesting. I did think bucket cranes are easy to rent. See them all the time in EU. Maybe the access to them depends on location a lot.
+wildonemeister Are cranes not allowed to lift people in US? Here in europe we do that all the time and we have a lifting basket/bucket designed for the purpose of lifting people.
Trabalho muito bom e seguro.
Parabéns....
Dear,
Irespect you for yr job, really admire people like you... I m scared of height.. Ha ha ha.

Trabalho arriscado.

The tree what's a beautiful tree it was a shame it had to be taken down but when something so extraordinary in time there was only the one man that could have done it with Shear Excellence in every profound movement of a well-orchestrated climber gave you did by far so many great things making this video I could go on for days but this is a great video in so many ways I thank U only once
Very successfully they cut down a very big old green tree 🌲 and 10k liked them cutting a tree😥
Sudheer T it’s a shame
Would you rather pay thousands of dollars to fix your home when a huge crashes on it?
Great work. Rope guy on point! Very nice. Buy that man a steak dinner!
and he " sticks the landing ..!! " awesome ...thumbs up !!
Nicely done👍👍👍👍

Your not afraid of heights just the fact that you could fall 😎
A normal human can't done this type of job
A normal human can do whatever they put their mind to!
Good Job 👊👍
Sick, your absolutely mad. Great work.
Please😫🙏🙏💓 save our environment guys
I know what you're saying but those kind of tall trees are very dangerous for people around the area. The branches can break and fall down on your head
I used to help a friend and his father do tree work and the skill involved here is at a level that is so much greater than most people can comprehend and thats before you even start climbing. He is not without fear but his knowledge of so much more than I could do justice to in explaining, gives him the confidence in doing something that most of us wouldnt even know what to do to even get themselves a few feet up that beautiful tree. His crew are just as important to the success and safety of the mission as well. Great job fellas! Pardon my ignorance though, Im curious to know the species of that tree? I think I know but Im just not sure.
Muito bom, very good job
It's a shame to kill such a legendary tree...but it's clear it was dying inside. Better to come down this way, than in the dark of night during a storm!
OH: And beautiful job on that last felling; dead-center!
dear sir its dead tree ...he had done good job... at storm its may be harm any person or damage any home..... but i like your spirit about tree .. i lve nature and tree ...
Dia yg naik dia yg motong gw yg takut... 😂
That’s was beautiful how it didn’t demolish the shed down below
A huevo mis respeto
Imagine hooking yourself to the branch you just cut off.
+TopMia CareMid Imagine doing this forty hours a week and never making such a mistake. These guys earn their pay, I tell ya. Also the not smashing of the house...
+Ken Gregory whats "earn their pay" means? no offence - poland here.
means they have a demanding job
+hinduspl do you mean that Poles can't speak english? you won't offend anyone by simply asking for explaination
+Michał A no, no at all.. I know that lot of us speak at good level, I just wanted to explain why Im asking - never heard that sentence before and I wasnt 100 percent sure. pure curious bro ;-)
Good man on the rigging rope.
