      Hey dave i actually took out the big dead euc out on the drive way a couple months back and i got to see the trunk you left standing, and man was i in awe when the costumer said that her tree was the one that the great coleman took out lol! Awsome work brother! keep it up!!

    Total respect to the man up the tree. You need all the skills and smarts to work with a chainsaw howling close to your face.

    When I first seen you cut a hole I was thinking he's fixing to stick the gopro in there lol...at least if the tree biz runs dry you could pick up carving jack-o-lanterns. Great video as always!

    Respect from one tree climber to another. I did a Wandoo like this once between two houses. The only difference was that my tree was green and looked healthy. It was only when we started cutting the trunk at 14" in diameter that we realised the trunk was a pipe. Stay safe. Wear some eye wear.

    So a 660 is the Aussie Pruning saw LOL, Bloody nice watch Matey keep up the Great work, it's amazing how bad people let some trees get before someone has to go up and get her done, do you ever get really worried with Hollow ones like that?

    Your skill is amazing and the safety measures that you have on, how those heavy trunks fall and not damage the house below is great to watch, thanks for the terrific filming regards John Tasmania PS I have subscribed I find this really appealing though I could never do it well not at my age 59 anyway

    Good job, very innovative way of rigging with the holes. I would have brought in a crane to do that one in a heartbeat...

  • @bikeybikebike
    @bikeybikebike 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Impressive! One perhaps daft question, why did you cut two holes to feed the rope through rather than just take it up through the top after cutting one?

    • @cannonball9478
      @cannonball9478 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      bikeybikebike to balance the piece to be lowered creating less swing and shock loading. Plus more weight of the load spread (between two points halving chance of failure).

    Enjoyed your video,got quite a surprise when I saw how high you were. Do you have a second safety harness or do you use your experience when confronted with a tree like this.

    • @DaveColemanTree
      @DaveColemanTree  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Peter McGreevy I use my experience and keep assessing the tree all the way up, this tree was actually quite stable and also still alive at the top even tho it was extremely hollow

    The redirect in the healthy tree...I assume it had more friction, so it takes me weight, and the hollow side is minimal friction in the rope, less stress?

    0:20 -- I cringed when you glanced down and showed that the tree BELOW you was hollow. (This really was a job for a crane.) 0:12 -- I hope that your furry friend reached the ground intact. Great camera work -- especially considering the distractions.
