- A compilation of all the "Something About" videos from 2020 and early 2021 (minus the post credit scenes)! It's been a crazy year! We watched our hunters Bill and Bogues put an end to Shara Ishvalda and his mixtapes. Ditto gave us some really good eggs. A dragon slaying astronaut blew up a space pirate base. Sonc ate some chili dogs. A mysterious organization got some signal from somewhere. Link found the 3 sacred gem thingies and Ganondorf can't Triforce. Zero doesn't want to hang out with Megaman. Yoshi's Island turned into a giant book but he still couldn't read. Kirbo and his Kirbros saved Dreamland from a weird mirror. The Photon Aerospace Control engineer, better known as a PAC-Man, escaped from a derelict solar mining vessel. Kirbo celebrated Christmas and Luigi traveled through space and time to find his possessed speedrunning brother.

I just wanna say that my favorite thing about these animations is that Jeremy captures the _feeling_ of being a kid and playing games, y'know? It's stuff like Samus screaming "I'M GONNA LIVE FOREVER" once powered up by the baby metroid; the exact kinda goofy connections our brains make as kids and beyond. I have no idea where exactly I was going with this comment other than "good job, yo."

I'm thinking that blue yoshi is a representation of the player. They appear in other games, can take on forms from other games, and is clearly smarter than the others, being able to find enemies' weak points.

I remember when the pacman video came out the title was actually super ambiguous so I had no idea what it actually was, up until the title card, then it all started coming together. (It was some weird word that the acronym P.A.C.M.A.N. was supposed to be for, I forget what it was.)

@@cooperchilcott8391 I’m pretty sure it’s based on dead space actually. The three green laser plasma cutter gives it away. I have never played the game so I’m not sure what other references there are but I’m certain that’s where it’s from. I watched my brother play it like a decade ago for a bit before I got too scared to watch. Also the ghost taking over a dead body is something the aliens do in the game. Super great job on their end for replicating how horrifying it is!
Upon the video release, It had a different name, Photon Aerospace Control Engineer. It wasn't until the middle of the video I knew what it was about. He changed the title afterwards.
I just realized that the final battle between Mario and sonic was truly a Mario and sonic battle. No Olympics, just a fight between them ~ that's amazing ~
I've watched the Something about sonic the hedgehog a whole bunch of times, but this time at 20:03 I noticed 2 characters jumping off a building.
I love when animators add little easter eggs in the backgrounds like the smash brothers at 23:56 on the top of the Castle or the 2 final fantasy 1 characters at 24:33, or even the chainsaw from the other Kirbo video at 41:42. :)
On a side note, I also find myself struggling to contain happy noises every time a StarCraft reference is made or audio from StarCraft is used, whether it's a "yes" from a dark Templar, a "The Hive Cluster is Under Attack!", Or that weird scream from the Terran academy.
So basically, Pac-_Man is just,

Found these a few weeks ago and have watched all Jeremys vids back to back. I even listen to them at work haha. Thevreferences and hidden gems make them all completely replayable. Even games I only played briefly or not at all, like Megaman X and Kirby games, the vids still crack me up. You have some serious talent Jeremy, thanks for bringing back some great memories of times when life was simpler and for all the laughs.

@@moshimeshowu747 a decent writer isn’t going to save sonic. The 3D games, as much as I love them, are a mixed bag. Only, like, Sonic Adventure 1&2, Sonic Colors and Generations really are the only ones that hold up super well. What I want is another Adventure or Boost game, with a well constructed, simple story. Even just, “Eggman stole the thing, stop him!” would be great as long as it well written.
