    Yep. Wild turkeys actually fly. I saw some fly in the Ozark mountains in North Arkansas. They scared the crap out of me because they were hiding behind a rock when I walked up and they just took off.

    An OUTSTANDING vlog!!! I remember visiting the general store many years ago, it’s changed (for the better). Your st Augustine vlogs are making me remember what I loved about the city and want to return soon. Keep them coming!

    St. Augustine is a great town. There's more to see than the Gator Museum! And if you have the time, take the ghost tour - one of the most haunted places in the States.

    The General Store Manager used to be the Sherrif at the jail. When we went a few years ago I told him he reminded me of Vince Vaughn. Never broke character! Love St. Augustine and can't wait to see where else you went!

    "Tin Can tourists" is a term back toward the early 20th century, when people traveling by car had long stretches of nothing to get through between towns or facilities. So they'd pull over and camp, and eat canned food.

    I don't know what your channel is about, but I'm a naturalist, grew up in Florida, and this time of year, I highly recommend JN "Ding" Darling natural wildlife sanctuary on Sanibel Island, Florida. This time of year is fantastic there, with brightly colored flamingoes, Roseatte Spoonbill herons, and all sorts of crazy, naturally migrating birds that are very easy to spot, and make great pictures.
    After a half-day of that, the beaches of Sanibel are very, very high quality. White sands, warm, calm , clear sea.

    Wild turkeys do fly. They have longer feathers, than "farm" turkey's and can fly. Farm type turkeys can't fly. I learned this a few years ago. I might be wrong as to what the difference between which turkeys can fly. Wild is correct.

      We have had alligator farms in Louisiana and Florida for a long time. The optimal harvest for alligators is about 2 meters. They breed quickly, mature quickly, have high quality skin, high protein content meat, and a large number can be kept humanely in a small space.
      Alligators have moved off the endangered list in many areas, however, hunting is tightly regulated. The leather is priced very high, and mostly goes to wallets, shoes, and handbags.
      I'm certain that the heads on display are harvested from farm raised alligators.

      @@rockinbobokkin7831 maybe its because in Europe we have neither crocs nor gaitors. Peaces of them here are from Africa and Asia, where they are usually killed in the wild and smuggled as tasteless Souvenirs. Did not know they are "bred" for meat and leather in the USA. Still... i would rather buy a magnet and gator beer xD

    I think carpetbagger got his facts wrong because the first people there were the native Americans and the Spanish were horrible towards my people 😥.

    • @englishatheart
      @englishatheart 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Was it a city when the Native Americans were there? If not and it wasn't a city until the Spanish made it one, then what he said stands. He didn't say the oldest space occupied but the oldest city. And according to Wikipedia, the city was founded by Spanish explorers.
