Hi Jacob, i just recently discovered your channel and share your videos with my partner when we are apart and we both enjoy your content. Have been binge watching the past videos to present and we love them all. Thank you so much for the variety of travels and also for sharing your story and life with Jenn.
"Camp Down races blah, blah,blah...doodah, doohdah"....Oh my goodness that hit my funny bone and I laughed out loud!! Watching Carpetbagger is the best!❤
Cool wax museum! So, many historic folks, I am glad I am not the only one that didn't know the difference of Daniel Boone and Davy Crocket! Thank you for explaining what they each did! I love learning more history! Also, I love classical music and my favorite ones are Verdi, Wagner, Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky, and Handel. Their music takes me away from any troubles that I have. Thank you, Jacob!
"Le miserabells" Jacob, I havnt laughed that hard in way too long. Totally cracked me up! Oh my Lanta, thank you for that, and for all of your humor! We Appreciate You!
Learning the difference between Boone and Crockett does actually really help so I appreciate you letting us know. The Hank Hill Ladybird fact is hilarious. Lol Your fun facts are the best.
They have had penny presses around forever - I collected them from all my vacations - but in the old days - you had to put in the dollar and provide your own penny! At least this one provides the penny! LOL I was at Potter's when I was in junior high years ago (literally - I'm 70!) - then it was rated as the largest wax museum in the world and I still have their souvenir book which was about an inch thick! Each page had a picture of the figure and their story! Thought it was so cool!
Thanks for giving a shout out to Henry Ford for the creation of GREENFIELD VILLAGE in Dearborn, Michigan. Attaboy, Carpetbagger, for an extra COOL video today. gotta Love Potter's Wax Museum in St. Augustine, Florida.
I live about 40 minutes from there. Have all my life and no matter how many other museums I have gone to ; none can compare to Greenfield Village and Henry Ford museum
This is a great museum. I've been here before and really enjoyed it, plus it's so old and creepy you can't help but think that some of the figures are watching you the entire time. You had me laughing at +31:04 explaining the grave bell with the person calmly saying, "I am not dead. This is not good"
Hi Jacob! So glad to see you in St. Augustine! My hubby and I lived there 3 yrs before moving to Palm Coast and it's a beautiful little city! We would go to the Cathedral church then cruise St George St. Potters wax museum was a must see and the drug store. That is a pretty decent wax museum! Hope Jen feels better soon and safe travels home. We love your vids.😊❤
Good morning Jacob, thanks for sharing this oldest wax museum the history and other stuff, looks awesome.its your favorite. You take care. Stay safe.🤓📸👍
I'm so glad adam mentioned the album for the smashed pennies. Everytine you get a smashed penny and mention your tendency to lose them, I find myself telling you to get an abulm outloud like I was watching a horror movie.
This is a really good wax museum, glad to hear they are active and it shows in that they take care of the figures and change up the exhibits. The figure in the back killing a snake is Michael the Archangel. Really enjoyed this video.
It's a little weird that I haven't been to St. Augustine, as I am a certified history freak, and St. Augustine has alot of history. One of my teachers in grade school was descended from Daniel Boone, which I thought was incredibly cool. And Davey Crockett said one of my all time favorite quotes while addressing Congress: "You all may go to hell. I will go to Texas." I realize that I'm a bit late for the comments, but it's Saturday, and I slept in.
Shalom Jacob, I got to St Augustine a lot, my husband and his family is from there and we do go to the Potter's museum a lot when we visit, and the outside shopping mall never did the ghost tour, but did go to the old fort San Marco across the street, nice place so much more and have their passport to tell you the places you can go from the visitors building.
I love going to wax museums. It's a bit of an uncanny valley but awesome. Buffalo Bill introduced tumbleweeds to America, via his shows. there were no tumbleweeds in the actual old west. Little factoid.
Utterly hilarious we see Walt Disney with toccata playing in the background. Also funny story: my aunt went to high school with Jason Alexander. And that’s my lame claim to fame.
That's also where the terms saved by the bell and working the graveyard shift. Someone would sit in the graveyard and their sole purpose was to listen for any bells to ring.
Jacob, I love your videos of wax museums. . I was surprised I didn't see Abe Lincoln. Also, Victor Hugo wrote Les Miserable means less miserable. It is pronounced mis-er-rob. Best wax museum. The wax figures actually look like the person. My goodness this was great. Thank you.
I just thought of some spots to check out for you - but now that I think of it you can't take photos or videos inside the museum but there are some wooden carved characters, and you can take them outside of the 'cabin' and porch and several other connections to the author of Song of The South, Joel Chandler Harris. His Hometown and museum is in Eatonton, GA and the lady that was working inside the gift shop told us his story and about what was in the museum and she also told us about the acknowledgement in the park, where his Mom had worked, which has a marker I think, and definitely where he and his Mom lived behind another house. You could then cut across hwy 16 - thru Monticello and several other little towns used in movies - My Cousin Vinnie was in the town square and then Sac O Suds from the movie is still there down the road = but you can also take I 20 over to Atlanta and visit the last home of Harris and the graves of he and his wife - the Wren's Nest I think the home was called has some tours but the days and hours are not clear and may not be currently available but you can part there and see the house and grounds. = So you can do a good covering of Song of the South - or research and do some movie locations = but check the hours on Uncle Remus' cabin = We didn't get a chance to eat there but Eat A Ton Cafe in Eatonton sounded interesting. We also saw the Barbie Beach on that trip but not sure if it is still active.
I’m actually a relative to Will Rogers the cowboy. I did a family tree project for school. As far as I could tell Roy Rogers isn’t directly related to Will. Maybe a distant relative because they do share the same spelling of their last names. The original spelling was Rodgers but at some point there was a split and the Rogers started to spread throughout the world.
Deadringer means you look EXACTLY like another person, you are a deadringer for so n so, as in the Bette Davis movie, which is AWESOME!!! Check it out sometime!!!!
Well, that story at 9:00 reminds me of something that happened this friday, but can't seem to put my finger on it ......Well, at least his head was not chopped off by his close friend and put on display...
The thing you have to remember that Daniel Boone was a big ole man. Yes, Daniel Boone was a really a big man. But the bear was bigger and he ran away in stead of fighting it. I think he went up a tree or something.
I’m trying to start a new unofficial holiday. Today is the first annual Captain Lou Albano day I put a video on my channel on how to celebrate. A pro wrestler and manger and the first person to play the live action super Mario . So happy Captain Lou Albano day
Tip: Not sure what camera you're using, but if you can get a polarizing filter for it, since you do film a lot of glass stuff, it cuts down on reflections in glass and water. It's great for museums and places like this.
It's funny that I grew up thinking Hitler had brown eyes, because he had brown hair. I believe the majority of brown haired people have brown eyes, but maybe that's black haired people. However, in looking it up, I found that apparently Hitler had startlingly blue eyes. Learn something new every day.
I have a problem keeping Daniel Boone and Davey Crockett apart too - I do know the song so that does help - but another reason besides their appearance similarities - Fess Parker played them both on TV as I was growing up so that too could be your issue too. There were Davey Crockett movies from Disney and Fess played with Buddy Ebsen of Beverly Hillbillies and Barnaby Jones fame as a side kick. Daniel Boone also had a song but I can't remember all the words to it but it came from the TV show which Fess Parker played him and his side kick was Mingo I believe, a Native American scout that helped him. Now Will Rogers and Roy Rogers only similarities where the cowboy aspect and last name - Roy Rogers actually it was a 'stage name' for him --- He was married to Dale Evans and they had movies and a TV Show - Roy was a singing cowboy and Will was a talker - both shared wisdom but Will did it more as his calling - Roy more by being a good clean moral cowboy. I think Roy was more attractive also more cowboy, with his horse, Trigger riding the range and fighting bad guys as needed and singing with the Sons of the Pioneers - I think Roy was more tv and Will more radio.
Just dropping in to inform you that Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum will be getting demolished. The Owner is searching for a different location, probably a bigger one, and he's hoping not to have to go far.
15:51 😂 wow you might get canceled for that comment given today’s environment with Russia. I don’t know if you’ve watched the news lately or not. But I agree with you historically, we might not been able to war the war without them a lot of people don’t want to hear that, and yes,I also agree with you Stalin was a piece of garbage but people shouldn’t underestimate Russia. . Also want to say you’re in my neck of woods. And I just recently went to the potters museum a couple years ago.. But I was quite impressed. Thanks for showcase in it. 🙏🏻
Oddly enough, it’s really hard to find credible info on the color of Hitler’s eyes. I was really shocked that they’d get that wrong in a wax figure, but there are lots of pictures online with blue eyes. So it’s either a common myth or he did have blue eyes. How did you come to find out he had brown eyes? Now I’m really curious! TIA!
He didn't have brown eyes. It's just purposefully incorrect historical facts for obvious reasons, just like him only having one testicle and so on. Not defending him or anything related to him, but it's a major pet peeve of mine whenever any historical figure, good or bad, has various things repeated as fact out of spite.
I am Catholic, n St. Joan of Ark, has been canonized by our Pope long ago as a valid Saint!!! She intervenes for us when prayed about asking her help, for being able to withstand unbearable difficulties!!! When you pray for the help of intervention for something you are enduring, you ALWAYS get that help, in one form or another, n you are NOT praying TO a Saint, your are praying to Jesus or the Holy Father THROUGH the petitioning Saint, which guarantees success!!!
St. Augustine is an underrated beautiful treasure trove for sure!
I’m glad you go to these places and talk about stuff. I wouldn’t know a lot unless you were narrating.
This is definitely the best wax museum I've seen.
We love Potter's! Going there next week while we're in St. Augustine for the first leg of our two week long Florida road trip
These are the nicest wax figures I've ever seen. They seem much more detailed compared to the other museums. Very nice
Hey u all ❤
Glad they broke down the difference between Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone too . Good job Again Jacob.
I went there a long time ago. It was my first wax museum.
Such a cool wax museum ! Thanks for showing 😊

Glad to see you waxing lyrical about this museum.
Good Morning " YA ALL " Jacob..!!

Thank you!
Wax museums creep me out.
But I still go to them.
Hi Jacob the carpetbagger I like your channel so keep up.the good work 😁👍
Hey Jacob! Thanks for visiting my lifelong home town! Good choice! Would have loved to see what restaurant you would have chosen while here!
I would choose Harry’s, unless I wanted bar food- then it’s hands down The Oasis!
Oh wow- what a great museum!! The figures look amazing and they really do take great care of them. I'll be sure to visit if I'm in the area! 😀
i love to see potter's wax museum to see the wax figures.
but i like it.
What an awesome video!!! Thank you!
The first FDR, and Henry Ford, were the best figures-thank you!
I do really enjoy this kind of museum. The wax figure is pretty accurate and not weird. Also the conquistador helmet really suit you Jacob
Every time I hear Gerald Ford I always think of the hilarious SNL skit played by Dana Carvey called Tom Brokaw Pre-Tapes 🤣
Me too! Glad someone else has that ear worm too!
@@jeremybenton458 🤣
"Le miserabells" Jacob, I havnt laughed that hard in way too long. Totally cracked me up! Oh my Lanta, thank you for that, and for all of your humor! We Appreciate You!
I love this Museum Its kept so nicely as you said. XXX
Weird, I get Davey Crocket and Daniel Boone confused too! I thought it was just me 🤠
Learning the difference between Boone and Crockett does actually really help so I appreciate you letting us know. The Hank Hill Ladybird fact is hilarious. Lol Your fun facts are the best.
I lived in St. Augustine for years
My mother used to work for Potters when they were on the Bayfront. The upstairs of the museum was a hotel

Good morning Jacob, thanks for sharing this oldest wax museum the history and other stuff, looks awesome.its your favorite. You take care. Stay safe.🤓📸👍
You in a movie, that was awesome to watch. I was excited seeing you in it. No Spoilers....
Roy Rogers was John McClain’s (Die Hard) hero. “Yippee ki-yay, m’r ef’r “
We used to go here on field trips when I was a kid
St. Michael ❤❤

Happy birthday Lincoln and Washington
I guess, technically, the Crayon Museum is a "wax" museum. 😂
They certainly have the most colorful exhibits
Utterly hilarious we see Walt Disney with toccata playing in the background.
Also funny story: my aunt went to high school with Jason Alexander. And that’s my lame claim to fame.
Greetings from Poteet Texas
THE ONE I LIKE YOU WENT TWO. WAS VERY FANCY OLD STYLE WAS ONE IN NEW ORLEANS.
That's also where the terms saved by the bell and working the graveyard shift. Someone would sit in the graveyard and their sole purpose was to listen for any bells to ring.
I love St. Augustine! You should go to the Pirate Museum across from the fort, very good. And the Old Jail tour is very interesting as well.
Thank you.
Great video Jacob safe drive back home🎉
Absolutely love St. Augustine however, potters is one place I have not yet been in 😎😎
Erm you had Theodore and Franklin Roosevelt. You should know, I'm british lololol
Good morning Jacob!
I always find them interesting but creepy great video Jacob looking forward to the next. Safe travels my friend and take care.
You really ought to explore the Will Rogers Museum in Claremore Oklahoma.
Excellent idea. That’s such a fine museum. He will never forget Will Rogers after a tour in Claremore, Oklahoma’s Will Rogers Museum.

Some of those wax figures portraying the presidents really look life like
Well, that story at 9:00 reminds me of something that happened this friday, but can't seem to put my finger on it ......Well, at least his head was not chopped off by his close friend and put on display...
Don't forget Wile E.Coyote super genius 😂
I hope madam isn’t jealous

They forgot to put the thing that Leonardo was the most famous for on his banner... being a ninja turtle!
Jacob, Debussy composed Reverie, La Mer, and Clair de Lune. 🙂
Jacob, the killer of the snakes was enoch

The man in Kipling's place was Voltaire.
I think Roy Rogers’ real name was Leonard Slye.

Just remember "Roy rode"
Ponce de Leon was French; he simply sailed for the Spanish government.
The angle in the window display is st Michael the archangel
Back for some WAX
You should really consider being a AAA auto club member since you're on the road as much as you are.
The real conspiracy is where’s my hero Eleanor Roosevelt not appreciated enough.

I believe they were Blue.
Dr Frankenstein's son's last name is Frankenstein. Therefore, he is not a monster, but you can just call him Frankenstein.
But how did Davy Crockett kill a local drinking establishment as a toddler?!
There is a About hundred years between daniel boone and david crockett o k
Was surprised there was no Edgar Allan Poe.
