If I've had 5 eye surgeries already (the first was botched they severed my nerves) would I still be able to be helped? I also have amblyopia. Thanks so much.
Hi Ms Emma thanks for your question. The severed nerve does throw a kink in it. But I recommend you schedule a consultation with Dr Steinhauer so she can get a full picture of where you are and what’s possible for you.

I am 42 and after 8 years with double vision the dr found out i have strabismus and need base out prism #14, can glasses with a prism go up to 14? My vision is 14 since november 14, is not changing and they don't want to do surgery. I just want my normal life back!
Hi Gretchen, per Dr. Julie: “Unfortunately you are almost maxed out and are very likely to do so due to prism adaptation. Max is 8 per eye. For a 14….they split 7 per eye.
It is one of the reasons why I do not accept prisms as a viable or effective long term solution due to its tendency to mask the issue and make it worse.”

Does the same hold true for an 7 year old child (soon to be 8 years old) with amblyopia? I am a very worried mom whose son has been diagnosed with severe amblyopia in his left eye. I really hope he can still achieve binocular vision and depth perception through vision therapy. Thank you.
Hi there. Yes it does. Of course to know exactly what is going on and what can be done with any case Dr. Julie needs to be able to discuss the case with you and him.
So the best course of action is to schedule a private consultation with the Dr.
But take heart. We deal with many severe cases and chances are high we can help him too! Fortunately you aren’t wasting time in seeking a solution for him.

I had a vision therapy when I was in my 30s and it didn’t work. I have had pronounced strabismus since I was a child. I am interested in the fact that you’ve helped older people with severe problems. Is your technique different than other vision therapists?
Hi Sheri, we routinely work with patients who have been unsuccessful at other clinics; some of them come to us on their own volition and others are referred to us by the initial clinic. We also have successfully helped many patients who have lived with these situations from childhood and some even have multiple surgeries. As for differences, although we would have to know what they did and what you received to compare effectively, there are many reasons why what we do is quite different. It usually begins with the Dr, their approach to care, and the use of basic or advanced protocols like in our case, the use of Advanced Photosyntonic Light therapy protocols in conjunction with manual therapy...

Hi Plug, we are in Illinois but work with patients from all over the world and certainly many from California. Many have found it even more convenient as they do not need to contend with traffic weekly as part of getting therapy; especially when the eyes are the issue and what will be worked on.
Hi! I was told I have Esophoria mild - are you able to work with this ? I tried to find your contact information. I really don’t want prism glasses after watching one of your videos. Is there therapy for this ? Thanks
Hi Georgia, yes we do and would love to help you! Yes prisms are definitely not a good idea as it is not a real solution but bandaid and due to prism accommodation usually makes it worse, especially in a mild case that can be arrested. Where are you located? Can you do vision therapy remotely? I’ve had 4 surgeries before the age of 7 but still no binocularity. My peripheral is excellent, and right eye slightly surprised but good vision at 57 in both eyes. Thanks!

Then at the consultation where you discuss your case and condition with the Doctor also ask any further questions that you wish to know answers to.

Please is it advisable to marry someone with strabismus eyes if you also have strabismus eyes
Hi there. The choice of who to marry is very personal and up to you. However the chances are high that at least some of your kids will have experience the same condition. The good news is that it can be treated or managed and we are here to help if that occurs. Thanks for your question!

What type of strabismus did this 81 year old have that you resolved? Can you treat a baby with infantile strabismus?
Don't you mean amblyopia? Strabismus is the crossing of the eyes isn't it. I had it, but the eye eventually straightened out on it's own, but my I still have amblyopia. Since I can't get insurance for vision therapy maybe I could look at out of pocket rates for some doctors.
Hi there. Thanks for the comment. It is Strabismus and binocularity the video speaks about. However we would be glad to help with your amblyopia anytime you are ready. Just be sure to “shop” for the right doctor for you (even if it isn’t us) than for rates else it’s might end up costing you more in the long run. Thanks for being here!
