I got mine in 2011 and still using to this day. I thought the lens cap thing was annoying too but I got an adapter tube, primarily so I can use filters, and that kinda solved that prob for me.
i have used this camera for many years , mostly at burning man .. i use the self opening lens cap and the visoflex . the zoom is great . it has held up very well in the dust and heat .
Yup, the self opening lens cap is a nice addition. I would've gotten it myself too, but this camera I got used already cost me an arm and a leg (in my country), that I don't really bother. That is just a nitpick though, because I still really like the camera.
I believe it’s one of , if not the only camera when. In self timer , the camera focuses immediately before the shutter opens. Not on the press of the shutter. Very handy
Thank you for this great review Noel, this camera is a very useful tool and one of the latest CCD cameras that's been built so it can be considered a part of history. I have the Leica D-lux 5 which is the same hardware with Leica software and I also suggest that to anyone who's interested in retro cameras.
Great vid! I don't know how you made it remember the last zoom position. I changed it to show the focal lengths as you have it but after I turn it off-on it's in the default position. Is there any way you made it that way? Thanks!
Hi, yeah, you can find it in the settings. It's in the Setup menu, in row 3. It's called Lens Resume. You just need to turn it on. I hope this helps. Btw. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for the support!
I saw one today charged, at my community thrift store. I played with auto and program and wondered why it defaulted to the large multi square grid. Then I tried lowering the ASA ( I know) to 80, and leaving it in.Auto, and all I got was a dark screen and dark pics. So I changed the ASA to 400, and still got the dark screen. It was in fine physical shape , had the lens cap, and charger for 95 bucks plus my senior discount of 10%. Since I already have a couple Canon Elph 310 cameras in mint shape, I didn't buy it. The reason I WOULD have bought it is my old none working cheaper DMC Panasonics had the best sharpness of all my pocket cameras. Since this is a Leica lens, I'm surprised you didn't talk about the quality of the glass.
Oh ni, so it didn't work? That's too bad if it didn't. Regarding the Leica lens, I wanna be pretentious and say that I only focus on the shooting experience or that the lens is just average since even though it says it's made by Leica. But the truth is I was too excited to post the video that I kinda forgot to talk about it. I had a few talking points that I wanted to talk about, but forgot to include it in my script. So yeah, I'm fairly new to this, so I hope you forgive me for that. Anyway, I appreciate the comment. Hope you enjoyed the video

Oh wow, I haven't noticed that. Thanks for the fun fact!

When zooming in for a telephoto, this camera is hopelessly unsharp
I have not used mine in 6 years Forgot I had it. thanks for the video.

I've just started the video, but the lens cap qualms are spot on. It's so annoying, lol. Killer little camera though :)
Right!? I'm glad there's at least one person who understands my annoyance with an admittedly small issue on otherwise a very capable camera.
@@NoelJinguli For sure. Too bad too because it's a really nice lens cap. Hopelessly overengineered, lol.
I loved my lx3.
I was looking to buy the LX3 as well, but couldn't find it in my area. So I got this instead. Very capable cameras these Lumixs
Music in the background was louder than your speaking voice. I couldn’t finish watching it.
Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I need to get better at this.
