    Great job! I got my parts in today and did the front and rear sway bar bushings in less than 20 minutes. Good thing my bolts came out easy

    Great video! The only thing I would have done differently would be to coat the bolts with anti seize. Other than that is awesome!

    Thanks so much. Great vid, clear and simple. I'M guessing replacing the rear bushings is the same process? Also, I don't have a lift and only one jack, guessing it can be done on your back underneath the car??
    Thanks again!

    Great video AND service you guys!!!!!
    What i appreciate is that you dont use pneumatic tools, just like what the average guy would be using.
    Is there a video for this process on a 2008 Honda CRV??

    I'm putting an aftermarket rear sway bar on my CR-V, and after I got the original one off, I couldn't remember which way the opening on the bushings went. Thanks for mentioning that putting the opening at the back makes sense because they'll get less road gunk in them.

    If your bolts are super rusty make a 50/50 mixture of _pure acetone & automatic transmission fluid_
    It is by far the best rust removing solution there is. Just mix it up and store it in a glass jar and brush it on with a wire brush. Let it sit for a few minutes and it will destroy even the most stubborn rust.

    A1, what is the potential fix for bolts that sheared off from the bracket on the rear sway bar when i was hoping to replace the bushing? I tried to be as careful as possible with them, barely applying any pressure and i just blew the bolt caps right off with my basic ratchet

      @@1AAuto For the rear stabilizer bushings, the car can't be jacked up otherwise the tension will make it impossible to take off the bolts and bushing....for the fronts this isn't the case? Jacking up the front is fine?

  • @jrser561
    @jrser561 ปีที่แล้ว

    Awesome video, I just recieved the bushings but to my surprise the auto stores do not have silicone paste, is there another name for it? Do I have to jack the vehicle up or can it be done with tires on the ground?

    Hi, thank you; very clear explanation!! I have a 2008 Honda Pilot, and I suspect I need to replace the rear sway bar bushings. Will the procedure be similar to the one shown here for the Element? In other videos out there (very few), the procedure looked much more complex, involving the lowering of the rear subframe cradle (a bit intimidating) to be able to access the sway bar bushings from the side.
    And if I can follow the same procedure shown here, then will the torque setting while connecting back also be the same (16 foot pounds)?

    Any problem using all purpose grease instead of the silicone on the inside of the bushing?

    • @saintEmory
      @saintEmory 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All purpose Grease will cause the petroleum in the rubber to swell. don’t substitute use the 3M silicone to not premature wear out the bushing. That bottle will last you a lifetime.

    So you put the slit facing Towards the back of the car? Other installations show the slit facing the front of the vehicle. Are you sure about this?

      It don’t matter which way her point was with it in back the dirt from the road won’t get caught in the the crack like Running in the dust storm with your mouth wide-open you probably would turn around and run backwards Capeesh

      My bushings have arrows pointing to the front (slit towards the rear). I was surprised the bushing holder did not have an arrow. I assume my holder can go on either way -2007 CR-V

    Where did you find such a rusty Element? I live in NW Montana and they salt the roads for 4+ months a year and my 2006, luckily, is no where near that much of a rust bucket. You picked a hard one to work on.
